  1. Never mind, I just saw the post regarding open session ending today and meeting on Mon.
  2. Great post with helpful information and great perspective at the end. Now, can anyone confirm whether Parliament met today?
  3. Yes, this was a good post from Viper. Okay, now don't blame your redhaired wife for your confusion (I think we are taking in so much info. there is a lot of confusion with all the conflicting posts). I am the redheaded spouse of dhill958 and will pass on a fun bumper sticker slogan you may want to ponder: "Blondes only dream of what redheads do." Well, at least your spouse will enjoy that one! We need a little humor to offset the waiting game...
  4. Just called Ali's office and this is a rumor.
  5. Do you mind telling us which bank you visited?

This makes me think of a quote I just read: "Any government big enough to give you anything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." THOMAS JEFFERSON
  7. [This figure would be much closer to GG's prediction of 2.80. quote name=hiltonhead05' date='26 August 2010 - 09:35 PM' timestamp='1282883747' post='177515] Is it just me or does his math not add up If I have 100billion dinars and I use that 100billion dinars to purchase meaning buy 207billion dinars then all i have is 207billion dinars not 307billion dinars???? so it would make the rate more around 2.28-2.30. Again maybe I am just not understanding his wording, but if you use something to purchase something, you lose what you used and are only left with what you purchased. Either way Go RV.
  8. Is this true for all its branches?
  9. Thank you for such a thorough post, Enorreste. You may want to check dates on Ramadan as I looked it up yesterday and it said Aug. 11 to Sept. 9. Was Aug. 4 just based on Frank's post?
  10. I am in total agreement with this word from the Lord!!!!!! We must pray and we must get involved!!
  11. http://www.aknews.com/en/aknews/4/163310/ Consensus preliminary for parliament gathering Monday, July 12th 2010 4:24 PM Erbil, July 12 (AKnews) – The Spokesperson of al-Iraqia said today that they are working out an agreement with the State of Law, while Sadr Movement Spokesman declared that they can postpone the meeting as long as the blocs reach consensus for cabinet shaping. "If the State of Law Coalition and al-Iraqia worked out an agreement the Parliament may hold the due meeting", Maysun Damluji, the Spokesperson of al-Iraqia, led by Iyad Allawi, said on Monday. Hachm Hasani, the Spokesman of the State of Law Coalition, led by the outgoing Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri-al-Maliki, also told AKnews on Monday "Our bloc has set forth some proposals to al-Iraqia and we expect we get the approval of al-Iraqia for them before evening". As for the details of the proposals, Hasani said there are many proposals but "after the two sides agreed on them, the proposals will be announced because they will undergo changes". "Al-Iraqia has also some demands; the bloc has put forward that it be entitled by the virtue of the Iraqi Constitution the right to from the next government and assign the next Prime Minister", said Hasani, adding that al-Iraqia requires that all the political parties be treated justly so that the list can step forward for talks with them. "If al-Iraqia and the State of Law do not consulate the other blocs in deciding over next government's shaping and distribute the senior positions, we will boycott the parliament session", said the Spokesman of Sadr Movement, Salah Ubeidi. "The political leaders are getting used to breaching the Constitution", he added, saying "the Parliament session without the political players' consensus is not only useless but it complicates the issue of shaping the government further ". "Though postponing the session is against the Constitution but if the government is formed without Sadr Movement and its leader, Amar Hakim, this government is not an inclusive one", he said, arguing therefore, they can "postpone the session as long as a consensus for an inclusive government is reached at". Ubeidi also reiterated that Maliki has gone against the terms of its alliance with the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) just to secure his office for a second term". The Iraqi Parliamentary elections were held on March 7, and the results were announced on the 26th the same month. The outcomes showed the progress of al-Iraqia List, by gaining 91 seats, over the other Iraqi lists. The State of Law Coalition won 89 seats, while INA secured 70 seats and Kurdistani Coalition List came in the fourth place by obtaining 43 seats. However, the Kurdish lists entered an alliance after the elections, called Kurdish Factions Alliance (KFA), with 57 seats. On June 1st the Iraqi Federal Court ratified the outcomes of the parliamentary elections and on 14th the same month the new Iraqi Parliament convened its first session. In the second session, due to be held tomorrow, July 13, the MPs should name the Iraqi President and the Speaker of the Parliament, along with his two Deputies. Earlier today the Head of the Iraqi Parliament's Media Office declared that the second session of the Iraqi Parliament is postponed for two weeks. Lh (AKnews)

  13. This has been normal for as long as I have had my account. Nothing to be alarmed about or out of the ordinary.
  14. Thank you for sharing this it means quite a lot to me as this Monday morning (7/5) my wife woke up experiencing chest pains, I got my little boy of 7 up and we went to the hospital at 6am. When we got to the emergency room they started treating my wife for a possible heart attack. The nurse gave her aspirin then a dose of nitroglycerin. My son and I were both in the room with her and watched all the procedures. Then within minutes of her receiving the nitro, she started into cardiac arrest. At that moment everything slowed down like slow motion. I saw her convulse then die, all the alarms went off and she went A Systolic. I was compelled from inside to get up and go to her. I made it to her and stood at the head of the bed and realized that I had lost her. Then from inside I I heard a voice say (actually more like like a command) it is not her time. With out any thought I just yelled out "in Jesus name it is not your time, come back, Jesus have mercy and I call you back and release healing to your body, come back". I watched as doctors and nurses poured into the room and got out the defibrillators. Then she opened her eyes and and quickly her pulse and vitals restored. Everyone in the room was shocked, the nurse said that was amazing how you prayed and she was brought back. That was just amazing. I started crying realizing God had answered and released his mercy and saved the life of my beloved wife. The nurse gave us the tape with the cardiac monitor recordings showing the proof of my wife's flat line so we could always remember Gods mercy, and love. After this event the hospital could find no problems, they gave her a tread mill stress test and she passed with flying colors. They released her at 215 pm saying she had no need of any further treatment. Praise God

  18. Adam, Do you know why Ali is no longer planning to do ledger to ledger transactions with Chase?
  19. This was a post from another site not sure if this has gotten here yet so Im passing this on. ISX and the “International Standing” ISX made the announcement they were going to be Internationally recognized. Here’s the statement: "Iraq participated in the meetings of the Executive Directors of the European Union, the Asian stock exchanges such as the delegation of the Iraqi market for securities in it". This was announced by the representative of Iraq at the meeting of the Managing Director of the Iraq Stock Exchange, Taha Ahmed Abdul Salam. He said that Iraq’s participation task on the road to effectively attend to such global forums confirms the return of Iraq to the environment internationally. He said the meeting dealt with ratification of the final accounts of the Union in 2009 and approval of the report of the directors of stock exchanges by, proposed plans for the Union in 2010, to approve the mechanism for assessing stock members, who number 28 Arab bourse, Asian and European countries through the volume of activities undertaken by the stock market. Now when this came out people immediately thought the currency would be recognized because of this statement. The General Authority for the Iraq market will be held on Saturday, 19/06/2010. That’s tomorrow folks, I can tell you now that tomorrow only brings a vote. Among the most important paragraphs of the agenda, approved the final accounts for 2009 and the election of new board of directors last one year only. They are only approving the accounts, you know the players in the market. Here’s another one but pay attention to the date: And discuss the agenda for the Work Committee for the purpose of the meeting of the General Union in October 2010. The first official meeting starts October 2010 — the last section of the Banking Reform is concluded October 31, 2010, " I’ll say this again " The stock market gets recognized in October. The Banking Reform Project from the World Bank concludes October 31 2010, so: They do the banks first then the stocks We get - exchange rate equilibrium. This one has had me mystified for the past four weeks. But I think we got a handle on this. This one should put smiles on your faces. I’m going to take three documents and I want you to read them. Here’s how crafty these folks are: 1. World Bank DPL – Page 18 of 119 http://www-wds.worldbank.org/externa … 0Use0Only1.pdf Preliminary analysis by the IMF suggests that the real effective exchange rate is broadly in line with fundamentals. The recent fall in oil prices suggest that the Iraqi Dinar might be slightly overvalued, but there seems to be no significant deviation from the equilibrium real effective exchange rate. Relatively low levels of inflation also suggest that overvaluation risks brought about by rising domestic prices are contained. Overvalued??? How could that be 2. IMF Document – March 2010 — IMF Country Report No. 10/72 http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/ … 010/cr1072.pdf The lack of data and large structural changes in the Iraqi economy preclude any meaningful estimation of the equilibrium real exchange rate. A very crude assessment suggests that the dinar is broadly in line with fundamentals. With the drop in oil prices, it appears that a possible prior undervaluation has disappeared, and that the dinar could even be somewhat overvalued. OverValued??? 3. Iraq’s Ministry of xxxxxxxxx http://www.mop-iraq.org/mopdc/index. … pid=295&lng=en Justifications for exchange rate adjustment: There are a number of important and powerful arguments which support the view that the official exchange rate reduces the real value of foreign currency for purposes of calculating the economic national profitability for investment projects and hence for the purposes of investment. It is demonstrated in this context to call for assessing the dinar for less than 3.208 dollar per dinar. When assessing project outputs and inputs of traded goods of exports, substitute imports and imports… etc. Estimate the amended exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar to be used in technical and economical feasibility studies and for 1.134 dollar per dinar. This price should be approved for 3 years until re-appreciation by the competent authorities. The reason I bring this up is that the World Bank and IMF were indicating that the IQD was overvalued. But they were basing this on the real rate of $3.208 not .00085 essentially, all there calculations were originally made at the $3.208 and they are right it is overvalued but they say not by much. So what does that mean? I’ll let you decide. We learned two things today: The rate of 3.208 is slightly overvalued from it’s equilibrium point which blows me away but I’ll run with it for now, and two that October 31 concludes the project for Banking. And we know what happens on June 30th, so the banks fall first and the M2 and stocks fall second.
