  1. Sadly, Iraq had its chance to become a power player but blew it away thanks in no small part to Maliki. There should have been an RV long ago. Unfortunately, they'll just form another committee to research this latest issue about Iran for the next 2 years and then come to a conclusion they'll have to take another 2 years to research the findings.
  2. You went and did it again! Holy cow didn't think anyone else knew about this album as well. I bought the original back when it first was released. Great album.
  3. I guess they can update this article from back in August http://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/iraq-crisis-is-izzat-ibrahim-al-douri-pulling-the-strings/story-fnh81ifq-1227020788085
  4. You mean to tell me someone else knows about this group other than me? Tarkus is, imo, their best album. I still have the Vinyl and have the CD of that album as well. Good stuff.
  5. Yes the people of Iraq cannot survive without a gold plated door knocker, water urn and soap dish
  6. Yeah. I remember reading this one before. With that aside, the Iraqi citizen must have the patience of a God. All they've been through these past 12 years. Though I get the feeling this announcement wasn't merely for the citizens but for the global Investors as well.
  7. We want a button pressed and all they talk about is lines. We don't need lines we need a button pressed.
  8. At least we know who the puppet master is. Whenever someone comes out and makes negative comments about Abadi, the research road always leads to the same culprit. Maliki.
  9. That is not what that opinion article is stating. What the opinion article is stating is that when they delete the 000's from the currency anyone who goes to buy dinar from that point on will get a 1:1 transaction 100usd for 100 Iraq dinar. Nowhere in that article is it even implied those who are currently holding dinars pre delete zero will get $100usd for 120,000 dinar. Maybe we are reading two different articles but I know I'm reading what the OP has posted. Let's read it again... instead of the $ 100 equals 120 000 Iraqi dinars, after deleting three zeros become a $ 100 equals 100 Iraqi dinars even if you reverse the latter part $100 dinar equals $100 USD it's a win our favor because we are pre delete zeros. This article is definitely about a revalue and not a lop because if it was otherwise it would have stated $100usd = $120 dinar after the 000 were deleted. Anyway it's an opinion piece and as others have pointed out no one really knows until official word comes out what the game plan is.
  10. Remember although this article is an opinion piece from an economic expert. It is definitely not a neutral event opinion. You notice nowhere does it state deleting the 000's off just the higher demons but the currency as a whole which means its value. Just look at the wording. Right now your $100usd will buy 120,000 dinars are rated for example 1:1166. Delete the 000's from the value of currency and now your $100usd will only buy $100 dinar. A 1:1 revalue and nothing to do with a lop of the higher denominations.
  11. That would be my only satisfaction in a lop seeing him go from a billionaire to a lowly low end millionaire
  12. That's how I read it as well and is a telling statement that the deleting the zeros is off the currency value not the physical notes. As for the inflation bit, well of course it has inflation. When it takes, for example, 1200 dinar to buy a $1 imported American candy bar well hello there's your inflation right there. Even at that Iraq isn't suffering hyperinflation which is one of the markers for doing a LOP.
  13. That there is the wording I've been waiting for. Deleting the 3 zero notes from the new currency not the currency already in circulation. In other words, there will be no more 5k, 10k and 25k bank notes being produced but these high denominations notes will be allowed to remain in circulation for up to 2 years as they gradually withdraw them from circulation and the world bank basically saying cool let's do this. Am I right?
  14. Another article open to interpretation however nowhere does it suggest a lop. From the article The meaning I get from the entire article about re-denomination is that they are just going to pull the high denomination currency (5k, 10k and 25k) from circulation for lower demons (5, 10, 25) of course all this can't be done without an RV. This is where my biggest issue with this article is. So, according to this article the $25 dinar bill is going to co-exist with $25,000 dinar and both will be the same value of $25 dinar until the $25,000 note is pulled out of circulation if what is actually intended is a LOP. Talk about confusing your citizens. That would be equivalent to the U.S. coming out with a 100 penny dollar bill with the 100 printed on the bill only that it is only worth $1. That is madness. Anyway old article is old
  15. And he's the reason we can't have nice things. He alone is responsible for creating the situation in Iraq and the rise of ISIS due to his shenanigans.
  16. Added to that they printed those new security laden bills in 10k and 25k notes. They simply wouldn't go to the expense of doing that if there was a lop. The problem is, as I see it, is in the wording or translation. "deletion of zeros from the currency". This is where for many the ongoing gray area is. Since it doesn't state from the value or from the actual bills. It's a very general statement and leads to many interpretations. If they would only say, "deletion of zeros from the value of the currency" there would be absolutely no confusion. But at this point and time it's all a word game going on. I do have a question, are these new security laden notes already in circulation? I don't remember and from my understanding of articles past this is where the two year date came from. The old insecure bills will pulled out of circulation over a two year period coexisting with the new notes.
  17. Not that I'm aware of at this time. It's only being done to the 50 bill because apparently it's the most counterfeited and underused. Just like over here in the States the most counterfeited bills are $20, $50 and $100. Some suggest this is being done to the $50 because there are so many of them and when an RV does occur and people run to the banks to exchange their dinar it takes off a heavy load on those delarue machines that check for authenticity of those bills. Something like that.
  18. It's in country only. You'd have to go there and exchange them for whatever they give you in that exchange. From my understanding after the exchange period the 50 bill is no long legal tender. In other words, toilet paper other than the ability to sell them to a collector in years to come.
  19. I wish they would. The merchants would have to stop with the $1.99 or $9.99 and just label it what it is $2 and $10. That .99 is just to make it appear cheaper to the consumer or so the merchants think.
  20. I recollect from a few of the delete zero articles from a while back the dates of 2016 or 2017 where mention for that implementation but that was when Maliki was in power. It's anybodies guess at this point really with the way things have really sped up in Iraq with Abadi leading the way.
  21. Not the study again. The world is full of global financial experts all you need to have done in the past 10+ years is brainstorm with them. How hard can that be.

  23. Luckily for me I think I have only a few 50's if any at all. It's been so long have had them stored in a safe place since getting the dinars 10+ years ago mostly 25,000 bills that I'm sure about. Haven't laid eyes on them since though and for all I know a few zeros fell off them bills already being so old
