  1. Nothing to fear. Maliki needed 180 seats to be able to stay in power. Looks like to me he'll be out and the Hakim / Sadir coalition will be in. Now maybe Iraq can move forward on passing vital laws.
  2. In the article three days ago when Turki said they would proceed without haste etc. he also denied the project being slated for 2015. I'm on my phone or I'd link it but I'm sure everyone saw it.
  3. No big deal on the middle if the year thing. When they pass the budget they'll make it retroactive to 01/01. If the rate goes at the same time, or there about, they'll just back date it with the start of the fiscal year. Being as they haven't moved any money yet, through the provinces or for government projects, it shouldn't be a big deal because nothing, for the current year, has been paid out at the current rate. Should be simple math that any of the numerous international teams of experts they have on hand could easily sort out.
  4. Sorry I'm a bit late with my reply here LGD. As related to question number 1: You are correct I wouldn't know I had disease x unless I went to the doctor and he told me. For the record I don't think what's his names comments were needed either. Clearly they're baiting and used only in an effort to start a confrontation and further drive the wedge between both view points. I don't really know how to answer that question directly because Botzwana clearly isn't seeking anyone's opinion on anything only trying to instigate others into a debate that lead nowhere. As related to question number 2: Yes we are told in the scriptures to privately go and present out case as you put it. But there wasn't really anything going on in private here. The arguments were very public and back slapping in nature. Especially when you take into account the bringing of the issue into other threads via the typing of "I'll pray for you..." at the bottom of several posts. I see you have stopped doing this now and for that I applaud you. I don't think any of that was what was really intended in the verse you are using here to support your case, for lack of a better term. I don't really feel I ridiculed you but if I did than I apologize, ridicule was not my intention. I just think, far too often in the Christian world, the message gets buried in debate, attempts to prove God, and an air of superiority under the guise of humility which is a veil anyone can see right through in a New York minute. The message has a time and place but that doesn't mean it need be all the time all over the place. People need acceptance above all else, once that's present the rest has a much higher chance of falling into place. That's all.
  5. I don't think publicly calling anyone a lost soul in front of potentially thousands of people, no matter how much they may or may not be, really helps at all. Nor does signing posts "I'll pray for you" help that much either. I've been a Christian my whole life and I think the Christians plight would be much more effective if more of them lived by example and not by words. Sorry LGD, I understand everyone has their own way, and I know you mean well, but that's my two after reading this train wreck of a thread.
  6. Here's some documentation for you two... From the CoM, February 23rd of this year: http://cabinet.iq/Ar...ow.aspx?ID=4378 General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers calls on state institutions to implement financial Altzmadtha local currency 02/23/2014 14:34 Called on the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Judicial Council, the ministries and departments not associated with the Ministry and the provincial councils and all not to enter any financial obligations in foreign currency amounts paid within Iraq and that commitment is performed exclusively in Iraqi dinars. She said the legal department at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of the Office of Information and Communication said the government also included a call in the event of GATT install the necessary costs in foreign currency should be mentioned Mikablha local currency (Iraqi dinar) according to the prevailing exchange rates. The call came at the Notes CBI / Directorate General for private investments in this regard the fact that the national currency is the original in economic dealings in Iraq, similar to the countries of the world, as well as to deal in foreign currency, calls for the provision of foreign currency contracts signed in Iraq.
  7. As per their constitution all citizen disbursements and contracts must be paid using the national currency. They are also trying to move to a market economy. They wouldn't conduct global trade using anything other than their national currency and you can't use your national currency in that way at .1166.The national currency of Iraq is the dinar. That's about the best argument I've heard that I'd think even the least educated in global economics would be able to understand and agree with.
  8. I came over here after reading frank26 saying this was great news to get the real story because initially I didn't see how it could be. Large currency swaps aside could someone explain to me like I'm a 4th grader how this is good news? If they're the goal is to pull the 25k in why print more? Thanks guys.
  9. Thanks Yota. For some reason I can't +1 you from my phone. I had a look at it and it seems to me there's not anything at all that resembles the currency table. Sure it's in another language but a chart is a chart no matter how you translate it. Still not saying it means anything but it is interesting. Thanks again.
  10. How does one view this Arabic side I've been hearing about? Is it the same url cbi.iq or something else?
  11. I don't believe she's a pumper... [millionday] Continuous attempts to reach a final agreement between the parties that hold the reins of financial matters in the country in regards to the process of deletion of zeros from the Iraqi currency, the much talked about since approximately two years , but the issue is exposed every time a criticism rejected by the parties may be in control of the flow currency in the country , but the CBI Boukbraúh seeks to resolving that issue and achieving a good outcome for the hopes of not disappointing to the aspirations of the people who always sought to avoid engaging in other economic crises may Tnhechm. 12. Thanks for that Sandstorm. I guess my question is; would you agree that they want to be a competitive player in the global market? And, if so, can they achieve this goal with a rate of .1166?
  13. Well, they can't move to a global market without a reality rate or while on USD. I'm no expert but that I know. This seems to be going against every piece of positive news coming out of Iraq as of late. Also... It's important to note that, while appearing it might be, this is not a statement at all from the CBI or anyone in parliament for that matter. It's from some unidentified source, claiming to be close to, which may or may not be true.
  14. Right that wouldn't change much at all unless you hold large amounts of some other currency that was increasing that you obtained for little to nothing because its worthless and you hepled country x print it.Im not saying I believe this reset thing im just saying you're missing a vital puzzle piece, that's all
  15. One thing I've been wondering, assuming they're not just making it all up, is this... Do you guys think they believe the info they're putting out is correct? or... Do you guys thing they are blatantly fabricating this stuff? or... Are they victims of believing bad information fed to them from supposed "contacts." I'm not saying I believe them, don't get me wrong, but I don't get the feeling that they are pulling it out of the sky. Maybe Terryk is, and has been pulling it out of the sky, but others seem different. Just to be clear, I'm not defending them, rather looking for honest opinions on where the "bad" info originates.
  16. You guys are quoting and responding to people that made their statements two months ago. Let it die already, plenty of current news afoot to have similar discussions. That's my two.
  17. It's really just a way of getting the citizens USD as far as I can tell. They take in their old big dinar and trade it back to the CBI who, in turn, gives them dollars. The dollars will then be used to purchase the new dinar (or whatever it will be) at the new rate. Thus, the bank wins on all fronts. Also, they're not just going to "not honor the old" anyway because that would be a lop and I don't think that is their intention.
  18. Please. Dont you guys remember reading this very article about a month or so ago. Key words embarrassment, disrupt, budge, etc. Just worded a tad bit differently. Nothing to see here folks, move it along.
  19. This is what trolls love. Threads with many many replies. Its what keeps them coming back under other names again and again. I realize by posting I have, in effect, fed the troll as well but I couldn't resist.
  20. Smoke? The only smoke I've seen is when the GOI says delay and the gurus call it that...SMOKE!
  21. If they float it the hedge funds and Donald Trumps of this world would own every shread of Dinar in existance in one fell swoop. As such I think they'll come out high so as to prevent this from happening. By high I mean 3.22 - 3.44.
  22. This, in combo with the National Meeting on the 19th, I think things are looking up up up and nothing at all like they were in years past. looks as if it's all coming together, if you ask me.
  23. I asked a pointed question last week about the economic reform bill that I have yet to see asked and was passed over too.
  24. I'm of the opinion this is one of the final things we're waiting on. Great news.
