  1. My dinars were given to me by my brother-in-law as a gift. At the time 250,000 dinars were worth a little less than $300. I've been told by several accountants that when the dinar does RV that I will owe taxes on the capital gains from the exchange. It will not be considered net income since I never put anything into them in the first place.
  2. Yota, those of us who just listen quietly but don't say much, "thank you."
  3. Snotrocket, I like you! And your very first post!! Way to go! cdg
  4. Here are two (2) of my pet peves:! Well, this old-timey teacher can't even spell peeves right! Sorry everybody.
  5. Here are two (2) of my pet peves:! I want to go to the store, too. Too means "also" Two of my pet peeves: Two means "the number which comes after one." The only other "to" is used like in "to the store." This is your forum. (meaning "belonging to" or showing possession. You're a great person. (a shortened version or contration for "You are." Maybe that will help someone get their (meaning possession)--not there (meaning a place like here) grammar a lot better. From cdg--an old-timey grammar teacher.
  6. Thanks to both of you. Lots of good information. I'm reading and trying to decide what is the best silver and/or gold to buy to keep "in a sock" just in case things get really difficult. From what I've gleaned, I I think I should buy Silver Dollars but don't know yet if I should "buy American" or would foreign coins be the best. Any help on this would be appreciated. I mean would people know a foreign silver coin is as good as an American silver dollar? Or would they tend to not want to redeem them? Thanks, cdg
  7. Good point! And I'm glad you are "BrokeNoMore." I'll start thinking of you as "FixedForGood." cdg
  8. Thanks, guys! Would buyers recognize the 2012 American Eagle coins or would those be considered "bullion." What makes a coin numatic as opposed to another coin that isn't? cdg
  9. Dr. Burzynski in Houston, TX, has been curing cancer while the TX Medical Board and the FDA have done everything they can to destroy him and put him out of business. This movie explains it all. There will NEVER be a cure for cancer as long as the pharmaceutical companies, hospital corporations, FDA, etc. are run by a handful of people who DO NOT have your best interest at heart. http://www.burzynskimovie.com/ I encourage you to watch this movie that won all kind of awards and promoted by Dr. OZ. I worked on the leukemia floor at Duke Hospital and the brain tumor floor at M.D. Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston, as well as sat with my sister who died anyway from melanoma after going through an extremely vigorous chemo program. I urge you to pay close attention to the website noted on the previous posts and watch this movie about Dr. Burzynski. It could save your and someone's you love life. cdg
  10. Have another question: I can buy 1921 Morgan silver dollars that are 90% pure or 2012 American Eagle silver coins that are 99.99% pure. Will the 2012 silver coins be reported to the govt.? I'm not sure what makes something reportable and not reportable. Is it the date of issue or the idea of coins versus silver bars. Need help please: Thanks so much, cdg
  11. The Chinese need a free market, capitalistic society to which to sell their wares and they are watching these greedy globalists paving the way for a Soylent Green-type society. They’ve had enough. Time to flush the toilet. They are going to call in their note right after the RV. This will bankrupt the Federal Reserve, crush the dollar and totally sink the EU and the BIS in Bern. It is going to make 2008 look like a picnic in the park; but those who have IQDs are going to be holding good money that is backed by real assets, not fiat currency. I think this may be referring to the huge amounts of gold the Chinese loaned the FED over many centuries, and now China wants it back. But the FED is refusing to pay it even though they have been directed by the BIS to do so. This is an offshoot of the suit in the UN brought by Neil Keenan and reported on by Ben Fulford. The money has "disappeared" over the centuries but the "families" in China are calling it in now. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and very much would bankrupt the FED, the EU, the BIS and the 4 big banks. At least that's JMHO. cdg
  12. Thanks, guys! You've given me so good ideas. I appreciate it. cdg
  13. Thanks! Did you buy them there in Houston? I grew up there. Is it better to buy online or in person? cdg
  14. Thanks, I'll check into them. My sister lives close to Durango, CO. I'll go see her and them at the same time. That will be great. cdg
  15. I'll look into that. Does the U.S. keep track of foreign purchases like they do bullion?
  16. My ex-husband intercepted code during the cold war. I know whom he worked for, but I don't dare say. OKIE is a JOKIE!!! Believe me the NSA wants nothing to do with him. cdg
  17. I've been trying to research whether it's better to buy gold bullion (like from Credit Suisse in 5, 2.5, and 1 gm sizes) or gold coins. I'm not interested in "collecting" coins. I just want the gold in my hand in case the dollar becomes worthless or close to it. I know there are pros and cons for each one of these, but I haven't figured out the best yet. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, cdg
  18. I moved back in with my dad when he was 89 years-old and could no longer live alone. And I was happy to do it, too. A year or so out of my life was nothing compared to all the years he had put into that life. So a lot of the problem today is that things are all turned inside out and upside down. And none of us had "great pay" right out of college. We had to work our way there. Far different than many of the current 30 year-olds. cdg
  19. I LOVE this. Gave me a great big laugh early in the morning. Now I'll have this picture in my head all day. What a hoot!! cdg
  20. Smee, so many times your posts are beautiful, heartfelt, vulnerable, and a blessing to many of us on DV. God uses you so often here. I'm so sorry about your husband. Words are not enough and never will be enough to ease your pain and loss. Just know that God is using that pain in you to help ease other's pain. Maybe to lead others who don't know Him yet into His kingdom. We never know the effect the ripples of our life have on others. cdg
  21. I totally agree, too. Thank you from all of us here (especially me) who have no idea about in-country events other than what you guys make available to us. And bookooh thanks for the translations. Without you all we would have is what the news media tell us, and that's worthless. Two thumbs up for all you guys. cdg
  22. She's only 11 years old, but her voice has blessed so many. I know it has me. And I'm happy to pass it on. cdg
