  1. typically when you're trying to stimulate the economy governments' budgets will have a deficit.. standard Keynesian economics..
  2. KEEP. quick question. how do you think a LOP would affect a stock within the ISX? If they were to delete the zeros would the stock depreciate by 1000% or gain 1000%? I agree with you in the fact that the articles (which have been roughly translated) have pointed to a lop, but what do you believe to be their rational behind wanting to lop? There is no hyperinflation, they have massive currency reserves in addition to gold, an economy that is a world leader in growth, and an abundance of natural resources? I'm not saying they haven't alluded to a lop but why would they with all they have at their disposal? To me, at least, it makes little sense.... care to clarify?
  3. people people lets be civil here.. honestly, none of us really have a clue what this "delete the zeros" really means. We all have our theories but thats just what they are.. KEEP I know you like to point out what other countries have meant by deleting the zeros but would you really compare the situation those countries were in to the situation Iraq is in??? I think what we have here is an unprecedented case.. the first of its kind... I'm sure much of the meaning of these articles is lost in translation but really all we have at this point is conjecture. Also how would the delete the zeros effect those of us who have lower denominations? if your worried about a lop than why not just buy large quantities of 500 dinar notes, or invest in the isx? if they delete the zeros and you have 1 mil in 500 dinar notes your sitting pretty, ya u'd pay more for them but u'd also be buying peace of mind and wouldn't bat an eye at these delete 3 zeros because ur notes only got 2.
  4. Didn't mean to neg you sandfly, darn iPhone touch screen.. Ment to upvote!
  5. Don't you typically only lop when there is hyperinflation? Which is not the case in Iraq, only a under valued currency... Zig if they must exchange their big notes for little ones wouldn't that hint toward a "deletion" to our benefit? Like you said no one knows but if a currency that was once 3+ that turned worthless overnight due to sanctions, stands to reason that the opposite could happen as well.
  6. IMO this is smoke.. Dates don't match up. I can remember reading this article in the past almost verbatim. Waiting for activation of tariff and HCL. IMO we won't see rv til then
  7. its been up, its been down. bit of a conspiratorial view on this but what if its not down everywhere as in they are isolating themselves. updating in iraq, running and testing the "new" website or updated one there but to prevent this from reaching the rest of the world they are having the servers around the world, like the one in texas shut off. no proof, just an idea. Go RV
  8. What a tragedy. I always respected his opinions and appreciated his insite. Although I only knew him through this I could tell he was a wonderful man. A true loss for our community. Prayers go out to his friends and family.
  9. Anyone notice that since E1's latest claim the cbi hasn't updated? Obviously not conclusive, just interesting...
  10. TRUE PRICE.. I like the sound of that! Hope they're talking about the Ministry of Finance "true price" right there!!!

  13. I've been on this for a while now, even get they're news letter! Always interesting to read!
  14. I think Sandstorm forgot a little thing called the national debt too... approaching 17 trillion... Iraq is pretty much debt free
  15. Dr. Ali Al-Shukri said Minister of Planning and Minister of Finance Agency, said the financial بمناقلة allocations from the center to the provinces for the first time. Shukri said in a press statement that "the financial بمناقلة trillion and 300 billion dinars, of ministries by one, and reached 2% was transferred to all provinces. In the first step towards administrative decentralization." On the census and as minister of planning, said: "The ministry is ready technically and administrative census and we are awaiting the decision of the House of Representatives." He pointed to the existence of multiple political points of disagreement, including those related to the remembrance of nationalism in the form and doctrine, and there is some disagreement on the disputed areas, and others that are managed from the province of which belong to another province. 38/5/13502 Link 1.3 trillion divided by 17 (18 if you include Baghdad) = 76,470,588,235 dinars 76,470,588,235 dinar divided by 1166 (official rate) = $65,583,694 And if I'm reading this right they only transfered (past tense) 2% soo... 65,583,694 times 2% (.02 for those who hate math) = $1,311,673.88 Not a whole lotta spend money.. atleast at the current rate.. ***the arabic word that didn't translate is "transfered" I believe... please correct me if im wrong
  16. Best part of this article is right here!!!! "Real financial experts warn if you spend your U.S. dollars on dinars, you'll never see your money again." How's everyones 401k, stocks, etc. doing in the past couple years? Atleast with the dinar you can calculate how much money you'd lose by selling it back to the dealer. You give a "Real Financial Expert" your money and he could lose it all... or atleast a large chunk, like everyone's 401k, stocks, ect. did not too long ago... but no.. we shouldn't trust ourselves, our own research, and other facts we have discovered...because where not "experts".. I would love to see an actual report from a news agency on the dinar doing ACTUAL research and showing the numbers, laws, policies, etc.. I'm currently in college and trust me, for those of you who didn't go to college, a degree or job title does NOT make you smart/intellegent.. i don't care if your a financial "expert" via degree.. if you were really that good at your job, you wouldn't still be working...
  17. Anyone else feel that this whole thing has to be "scripted".. literally months/years of arguing but suddenly they can agree on everything... coincidence? I think not..
  18. But its on the internet! so it has to be true! I know, thats the hardest part of this investment! Nearly impossible to find pertinent info and when you do you can't even fully believe it! I'm just formulating a theory based on what they "say" but I'm also watching what they're doing... But even the boy who cried wolf was right one of the times..
  19. and where did this inflation come from? like a month ago weren't they bragging how they wouldn't be affected by the poor global economy due to their huge currency reserves and etc. Now in 1 month they have 143% inflation after nothing really has changed.. like i previous said, this would be quite the sneaky way to clear the streets of dinar especially the big notes, deletion of the 000s. Who would hold onto a 25k note when its losing value on the daily when you could simply exchange it for the dollar which is on the rise... all just too much coincidence for me.. Hope im right! Go RV!
  20. this is how I see all this... Iraq has created a situation where the dinar appears unstable so their citizens exchange their dinar which is worth less and less every day for another currency. Clearing the streets of the dinar and sucking up the big notes. Setting the stage for an RV or RD or RI, whatever its called these days.. JMO
  21. I'm not a Lopter.. just confused.. looking for clarity.. the author says they'll trade the notes in 1000-1 but IDK what that means for us, in addition the author if a Prof. at Kuwait University.. so not in Iraq, so IMO he has no more information than us.. aka speculating based on the future.. he sites turkey as a comprable comparison but Iraq doesn't have the hyperinflation.. only a highly undervalued currency.. so IMO this author is doing nothing more than speculating just like the rest of us..
  22. the same article at a different site.. in the comments the author pretty much says their gonna lop... link ..
