  1. We'll as of right now it is 6 PM in Iraq and so far a lot of news coming out - none of which has to do with the Shell deal.Any ideas why? Yes, they will absolutley publish this, as they have been throwing articles out left and right all week about the "contract being signed on Sunday.". Their Sunday is almost over....any thought why we havnt heard anything? thanks and have a great day!
  2. Im not here to burst bubbles or to argue. I'm way too old for that. But yes contracts have been signed lately and there is no law against signing new ones before the HCL. I think it would be beneficial for HCL to be in place, but it's not absolutely necessary. There are way more news articles than the ones posted on this site so if you do your own research you will see many more contracts that have been signed, whether large or small. And as Adam is hopeful that it will be passed this Thursday, he is also realistic that it very well may not be. We all thought it would've been passed by now but, again, it hasn't. None of us are mind readers. Regarding this article, it is dicussing the Shell contract being signed, not the HCL. That was the reference to my original comment. Please make sure you differentiate between realism and being negative before jumping down my throat. I want the same thing you do in this matter, and I am entitled to have a different opinion than you, with all due respect.
  3. Sorry to burst your bubble but this simply means a contract with Shell will be signed...NOT HCL. Contracts can be signed as much as they want without the HCl being approved unfortunately. The draft law "will be present before Parliament before the end of the year." That is the HCL...not the contracts with Shell, Exxon or anyone else.
  4. http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.aspx?ref=IE8Activity&a=http%3A%2F%2Falrayy.com%2F36157.htm Thursday 24 November 2011 Parliament held its third meeting and voting on its agenda and to discuss a number of laws Baghdad comply with. House held its third day Thursday of the second legislative term of the second legislative year Osama alngivi and attend 236 deputies. A parliamentary source said that "the House held its third day of the second legislative term of the second legislative year Osama alngivi and attend 236 deputies", stating that "the agenda for the meeting includes the vote on the resolution of the legal Committee on the US withdrawal from the country, and votes in principle to the draft military penal code", also includes a vote on a Bill monthly grant of Dak, and draft legal ministries of trade, industry and mining, and vote on the law of the first amendment to the customs tariff law No. (22) for the year 2010 ". "The meeting will vote on the draft law on first amendment law of civil servants and public sector no. (22) for the year 2008, and the vote on the draft law on cancellation of Revolution Command Council decrees electrolyte has 1194 of 1983 and 1985 456," adding that "the meeting will also vote on a Bill ending the work of the Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal. The Liberal bloc of the sadrist revealed Wednesday it submitted the proposal to Parliament contains three paragraphs on the withdrawal of US forces, saying that the blocks belonging to the national coalition ready to vote for him, with no votes were weighted by the Iraqi Kurdistan. .
  5. Thanks papster! I was hoping they were finally done postponing things.....guess I forget we are dealing with Iraq here!
  6. http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.aspx?ref=IE8Activity&a=http%3A%2F%2Falrayy.com%2F36164.htm House postpones vote on troop withdrawal. It wouldn't let me copy the article but it's short so if anyone else can copy/paste I'd be grateful!
  7. Contracts have been signed like crazy already so unfortunatley the HCL does not need to be done to sign the contracts....they can sign all they want without it. Distributing the money, on the other hand, is another story.
  8. They have been doing that for a long time. There is no rate change, it clearly states that current rate at 1170. What exactly is the question here? It's a standard email with the current rate.
  9. Ummmm< they were. Where in this article does it say they wern't?
  10. and obviously the OP never came back with an update from his source so it must not have been that credible.
  11. What is your opinion on none of the bigger ticket items being presented to Parliament yet? No word on HCL (they are actually still saying there has been no argreement), no security ministres yet (again, still said to not agree on one), and no word on the budget yet? I realize they could do these things behind the scenes, but i find it hard to elieve that none of those 3 things have been discused yet.
  12. YOu would hope they would publish the HCL or the budget when it gets readings though...and thus far they havn't published any of that. Makes you wonder when those items are on the agenda??
  13. Well folks, they still can't agree. Go enjoy your Thanksgiving because this just isn't happening for awhile!
  14. We are only being jerked around if we actually take to heart what they say. Come on, by now we should all know that when the words "bank screens" are in a post - run far far away as fast as you can!
  15. We can't really read into just one auction, as its been super high in the past. Tomorrow will be very telling. If its in the 300's again, perhaps something is up. If its back down to a more 'normal' number, then it was nothing other than a good sale day.
  16. There have been dozens of articles about the hcl and budget going to parliament for review as soon as they returned from holiday. But who knows when they'll get to it!
  17. Also no sign of the budget. They arnt doing any big ticket items....wonder what the hold up is this time?
  18. Looks like they are simply stating that they want to devote thursdays each week to strictly vote and considering it will take them weeks to vote on everything I wouldn't count on just this Thursday to pass everything. Its already Tuesday for them and no big items have been voted on yet. Patience.
  19. Actually I wouldve been blowing his phone up because this isn't your average rumor we are talking about. Its a world and life changing event so if I heard news like that from such a "close" source, I wouldn't have gone all weekend just "trying to call him once" and left it at that. We all know what we wouldve done....in any case its not true so we move on to the next rumor!
  20. Thanksgiving will definately come and go without an RV. They havnt even started working on the big items and maliki is out of the country until tuesday - meaning he won't even be working in country till weds. Keep grounded - they still have A LOT to do.
  21. So did you call your uncle? I'd say if I heard news like this I'd have been blowing up his phone al weekend...esp. When it didn't happen (yet)!
  22. Ch can't be done until they get the darn issues with Kuwait resolved (yet another meeting scheduled) and get the security ministers seated (another round of arguing about the nominees)! Arhg! Frustrating....
