  1. 3:56 PM ET and still says IQD unavailable. Any other sites showing the same thing?
  2. Sheesh, and they complain that the rest of the world thinks of them as a bunch of backward lunatics (no pun intended). The sad thing is though, Phoenix may be right. If these people are looking to eclipses (which are completely predictable) for signs and clues to act, it may happen the way he is saying. In-freaking-credible.
  3. Wow. I mean, WOW. I was going to take this as another bank story. But after looking at your profile it is hard to not get excited. I know we have all been down this road before. Below is the text of an e-mail I got back on April 27. I have comes across intell that some at BOA on back screen rate of 3.86 to 3.466 with possible release date of Wed thru Thursday. Just to let let u know that our investment is real. Stay grounded. The platform will be based on what is the investment and what is the rate of return? Obviously it didn't happen. I hope it really is true. I really do. I am going to do my best to be cautiously optimistic, I don't want a huge letdown.
  4. I didn't get a chance to listen and when I try to play it nothing happens. Do they archive these or is it one chance only to listen? Anyway, could someone please post the gist of the call? Sounds like good news but what is the news exactly?
  5. Actually, between now and the 5th of never. You are correct that it will happen on a day ending in "Y".
  6. No, but he did say that you would have to send out notices to the people of Iraq to educate them on how their revalued currency and the lower denominations would affect them so they could transition to the new economic realities with as little confusion and chaos as possible. When we get verified proof that this has happened, we know it is close.
  7. Hot Diggity Think they would do this if there was still a long way to go? Come on RV, daddy needs some hospital bills paid!!!!! Great, there I go getting excited. Maybe I should learn to read ALL the posts before responding.
  8. OK, so please educate this relative newbie. First, how do you open a Warka account? I saw that a few times in other posts but never really made any connection. Second, is it confirmed that there will be a time limit on exchanging?
  9. Almost gave you a -1 for the mental image that caused. Not the first thing I wanted to be thinking of at 7 AM and no caffeine. A rate of 0.86 would only be a "starter rate" (that is still too low IMHO). High enough that the average John Q Public investor would cash out to make a quick return. However I don't expect it to end at that rate. Too many big fish (i.e. governments and multi national corporations) are in on this to let it stay there. I expect the rate to climb higher. Maybe an initial spike to the $1.50 to $2.00 range over the next 6-12 months and then approaching the $3.22 to $3.41 pre war eventually after that. Believe me, I hope it is sooner than that. But if it isn't, it will still be the biggest return on any investment I have ever had, and probably ever will.
  10. As you all can see, this is my first post. I will try to make this as relevant as possible, but please forgive me if I am not as successful as I hope. First, some basic info about me. I am relatively, no scratch that, EXTREMELY new to this investment. I made my first purchase about 3 months ago, and have far less than maybe even the average investor has. I only got into this because my brother (who happens to have been in this for about 7 years) decided one day that I might be interested in this. I wish he had told me earlier but thems the breaks. Anyway, I have been reading many of these forums. Obviously it is impossible to read them all, but one does not have to read long to come to one inescapable conclusion. In the end, The only person that knows the actual rate is the head of the CBI, and I am convinced NOBODY knows the exact date. I do feel it is close, with a gut feeling of the end of this month or July 1. While nowhere near a lock, in my defense I must say thanks to my wife's excellent cooking my gut is rather ample. That being said, if it does not happen by the end of this month, with the Chapter 7 deadline expiring, then there really is no deadline at all, and they can do this at their leisure. The news stories coming out of Iraq do tend to lend credence to an end of this month change. I have only been reading this site for about 3 months and even I can see that events are speeding up to something. We all hope it is an RV, but again, we are spectators on the outside looking in. In the end, if it does not happen by June 30 or July 1 I will be disappointed but not crushed. The more pressing item for me is the rate. That is where most of the angst seems to be focused. I have seen and heard them all just like you. 10 cents; 86 cents, $1.13, all the way to the $8.22 rate posted by these "gurus" (who are another discussion entirely). While listening to them to closely will only drive you nuts, occasionally you do find yourself thinking "that would be nice if it came out $X.XX". I do have a few thoughts on the rate. Anything less than $1.00 seems too low to me. There are too many foreign investors, both private and public (i.e. governments) who have invested in the Dinar to be happy with anything less. Iraq has too many resources, and too many companies from too many countries wanting to develop those resources for it to be lower than that in my very humble opinion. Based on the info I have seen from others on this site, anywhere from $3.22 to $3.41 seems me as the settling point. It may not start there, but I just have a feeling it will end there. It just may take a few years. Will I be able to retire if it hits that rate, the answer is a flat out no. I have not been in long enough to have that amount of dinar, nor the resources to buy them in such a short time. If my gut is correct, and I hope it is, I will be able to pay off bills, but I will still be working 40 hours a week just like I was before. Bottom line, nobody knows the rate or the date, and getting anxious about either is only going to give you ulcers. I know those that have been in this for the long haul have more reason than I to hope, and I really do feel for you guys. This must be the closest the goal has looked in years. For all our sakes, lets hope my gut is right.
