  1. One of the most convincing things to me about a younger Earth is that the Bible teaches that there was no death or bloodshed before the fall of man. Science puts the extinction of the dinosaurs at 65 million years ago while believing that humans have only been around for 40,000 years. How could God proclaim after the 7th day that creation was "good" when if Adam and Eve were only 40,000 years ago, there would have been millions of years of death and bloodshed prior? The first bloodshed was a foreshadowing of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and the Bible says that it happened because of Adam, at the time of Adam, not before. I will never tell my God that the world's understanding is greater than His. He can do ALL things whether we believe it or not....
  2. Let me start by saying that I have been a member here since 2011. I was more active back then but just because I haven't posted or responded in the past couple years I still come here all the time for my dinar info fix. This site IS the place to be and I am proud to be a member here. On with the question. I currently hold physical notes along with electronic. When we do experience an RV, when will the IRS see this as income? At the time of the rate increase or at the time I decide to cash in? My concern is with the electronic dinar, Will that be taxed according to it's initial RV'd value or the (hopefully increased) value at the end of the 2015 if I let it ride to the end of the year? or will I only be taxed on it when I decide to convert it to USD regardless of when I decide? What I'm really asking is will I need to convert enought IQD into USD to cover all appropriate taxes of the entire electronic account value and transfer that back into the US to cover my liability? I know a foreign account is a gamble. I'm just concerned with getting the enough funds back into the US to pay the taxes in a timely manner. Hope this line of questioning makes sense. I wrote it and I'm still a bit confused by it..... Since this is my first question (ever) I hope you can forgive my lack of, I mean the way I, Uhmm..... the phrasing of the..... what's the word...... oh yeah, words... Again, Thank you and your mods for running a fantastic site!
  3. i just noticed that my password had expired on Sunday. I sent the renewal form and ID Sunday night and when I checked it this morning (Monday), it had been reset. I hear it has a lot to do with the time your send the e-mail. I sent it at 9:05 am Iraq time. Hope this helps.
  4. This also applies directly to the US... Let the people do what they do best, build a strong economy.... Just get the government out of the way so we can! I don't under stand why their leaders, our leaders, and other country's leaders don't understand this... insanity!
  5. My password has been reset. I sent my request successfully on the 9th (Tuesday) and got a confirmation e-mail back on the 14th (Sunday). Thanks again for the help..
  6. Thanks for the replies... I remembered that I have another e-mail address with COX cable. I resent my e-mail with a signed authorization letter and a copy of my ID. Cox sent me back a notification that it was read within a few minutes of being sent... this was on Tuesday. I haven't had my password reset as of yet but I'm hoping that everything was in order and my attachments made it to them. The questions I now have for any of you.... How long did it take for them to process your request? When it is processed, will I get a confirmation e-mail? Just wondering how long should I wait before I resend my request. Again, Thanks for your responses... This board has the best and most helpful people!
  7. I'm trying to have my online password reset. I've tried multiple times to e-mail Warka with all the paperwork attached but it comes back to me as undeliverable. I'm sending it though AOL. I've seen that others have been contacting Warka with the same request... Have any of you had this problem? ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <e-bank@warka-bank-iq.com> (reason: 550 5.7.1 Command rejected) <ifrd@warka-bank-iq.com> (reason: 550 5.7.1 Command rejected) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to mail.warka-bank-iq.com.: >>> MAIL From:<XXXXXXXXXXXX@aol.com> SIZE=713017 <<< 550 5.7.1 Command rejected 554 5.0.0 Service unavailable I've tried to contact Warka through their website asking for alternative ways to reach them and so far no response... go figure.. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Seems a bit hypocritical, don't you think? There is nothing wrong with these type of posts. Why do we always attack the poster with negs when you should be attacking the message itself? Thug goes out of his way to provide us other news, views, and opinions. Why neg him for that?? Comment on the topic and then let the thread thrive with opinions. Isn't that why we can even respond to threads? To be able to agree and disagree? attack the message, not the messenger... Thanks Thug for all you do. I appreciate all of your posts!
  9. http://www.alliraqnews.com/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7276:maliki-holds-crucial-press-conference-&catid=35:political&Itemid=2 I never posted a link before, Just hope this is a legit news site. Here's looking out for the newbies who try
  10. In the Iraqi definition of a time frame, 2 years may end up being 10 years... just like in a few days can mean weeks, to months, to who really knows.... either way, 2 years or 10 years, it doesn't matter... I'll be long gone before either of those deadlines expire!
  11. When did it recently lose value? I thought that it was the same at 1170 for 3 years? If anything, It's value increased when it moved to 1166. Not much of an increase but it went in the right direction.
  12. Really?? The question came from a newbie who was just looking for an answer. Isn't the purpose of this thread to be able to ask Adam a question? It doesn't say only ask questions that He may have never addressed! Don't feel sorry for Adam. I'm sure he is capable of skipping the questions that he feels he doesn't need to address. Let's not scare off the members who want to participate by saying they can ask a question and then telling them to find the answer for themselves. Remember, we were all new at this once.
  13. These guru posts have been going on for years and I don't see them stopping until we finally come to an end and actually RV. The RUMOR section is a popular area on this site because some of us do like to read all the BS and comment accordingly to it. If you are tired of being exposed to these type of postings, maybe you should just not visit the RUMOR section and stick the the NEWS area if you find it so frustrating. I'll take the negs for my observation but to me whenever somebody asks such a polarized question like if we are tired of all the guru BS and asks for +'s for agreement, to me it seems like an attempt to boost reputation points without actually participating in a meaningful way.
  14. I believe it will RV because... When I asked my Magic Eight Ball if it will RV.... It said MOST DEFINITELY. That's better than any guru prediction! I also asked when it will RV and it said to ASK AGAIN TOMORROW..... Alas, I wait another day....
  15. I could try to paraphrase this explaination but it wouldn't be as good... Excerpted from GRACE STORIES by BOB GEORGE. Is tithing the New Testament standard of giving for today? Giving… the New Covenant Way Money is a subject most of us are uncomfortable discussing, specifically as it relates to giving. We have all heard the "dig deep" sermons, which make us feel guilty about giving to the Lord. Then there are the radio and television guys using every manipulative trick in the book to get us to open our wallets and give to them. At the core of all these "guilt laden" messages is the idea that to be a “good Christian” we must tithe. And if we don’t, based on Malachi 3:8-10, we are robbing God. Of course, no one wants to “rob God.” But is tithing the New Testament standard for the believer today? Let’s take a closer look. Tithing was an Old Testament law, mandated by God to the nation of Israel. It was a requirement of every Israelite family to give a tenth of their produce and livestock for the support of the Levitical priesthood. The word tithe literally means one-tenth or ten percent. The tribe of Levi was the only tribe of Israel not given an inheritance in the land by God. They were rigorously set apart by God to perform religious duties in the temple and to serve as His representatives to the people. The tithes from the remaining eleven tribes served to provide for the Levites’ needs, “I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the Tent of Meeting” (Numbers 18:21). The work of the Levites merely foreshadowed the person and work of Jesus Christ. The writer of Hebrews describes that old system in this way: “The law is only a shadow of the good things that were coming –not the realities themselves” (Hebrews 10:1). The realities are found in Christ Jesus. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled all that the Law of Moses required, and in so doing, ended the Levitical priesthood. Christ finished their work forever. Jesus now stands as our high priest, and the only high priest. Every reality, which the Old Testament foreshadowed, can now be experienced through faith in Him. When Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant, He ushered in the promised New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31). Therefore, the old priesthood has been replaced by the new one – Jesus. Under this new covenant with its new priesthood in place, the old system of tithing no longer remains in effect. Under the New Covenant, we have a new way to share financially in His work here on earth – the grace of giving ( 2 Corinthians 8:7). Under grace, giving is not a required activity as the law of tithing was. New Covenant giving is a natural overflow of God’s love in service to others as His Spirit controls us. Can that be ten percent of everything we make? Sure it can, and perhaps more or less as God works in our hearts individually. That is the freedom we have in Christ. It is important that we see that God doesn’t want what is in our hands; He wants our hands. God doesn’t need money. He is far greater than limited human economic systems. God wants our hearts first, and then the right actions will follow. As a child of God, giving should be a response to what Jesus Christ has already done and continues to do in our lives. The grace of giving flows from the heart. And it is in the heart that the Spirit of God does His work to transform us into people eager to share in God’s work. The first century Macedonian Christians provide us with a beautiful picture of this grace in action. Paul tells their story in 2 Corinthians 8 & 9 to encourage the believers in Corinth and believers everywhere to excel in this grace of giving. “ And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God’s will” (2 Corinthians 8:1-5). These believers were impoverished and were experiencing severe trials and tribulations. Yet, they saw giving as a privilege and pleaded with Paul in order to share in “this service to the saints.” God’s grace had done a powerful work in their hearts, and as a result, they desperately wanted to give of themselves and their resources. 2 Corinthians 9:7 summarizes the type of giving God desires for every believer. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” We spend so much time focusing on the amount we are to give that we miss what truly matters to God. We look on the outside, and God looks at the heart. Only God’s grace can capture our hearts and produce in us overwhelming joy that wells up in generosity. Under grace, all we have and all we are belong to God. We can’t out-give Him; He will supply all our needs. This frees us to help meet the needs of others. As He blesses us, we in turn are to give to His work by means of a thankful heart. It is important to note here that we are not talking about freedom from tithing as much as freedom to give out of a cheerful heart, the way that God desires. When you consider how much God has given you in Jesus Christ, can you possibly set a limit on how much to give to further His kingdom? He has given freely and unconditionally. In response, as you have freely received, freely give. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).
