I like this article, it is reveling and should explain that there is more than one way to interpret the words they use when talking about the zeros, BTW these people are doing a study and IMO not in the know, I believe the GOI just wanted these people to do the research to make sure they are doing the right thing. This next statement uses my new favorite word...urgent....and I think everyone is urgent to get this done... the adoption of the deletion of three zeros from the national currency is an urgent need and necessary. The concept of lifting of the zeroes ....the following tells me that there is more than one way to interprete the way these are meant to mean...... the one that we want and that has taken place IMO according to the article yesterday was the same as Shabibi uses when he talks about this and that is the removal of the zeros....by removing or deleting zeros or numbers of the old national currency...numbers IMO means numbers of what is removed from circulation, I'll explain more as you read.... Raise zeros or lifiting of the zeros Rename or delete the zeros or removing for delete zeros Are terms that refer to actions that would improve the situation of the national currency, by removing or deleting zeros or numbers of the old national currency, for various reasons are different countries. This next part is IMO already taken care of, they needed to get the in-country currency in circulation down to 30 billion dinar and according to the article yesterday it looks like they have already done this and will start taking the remainder out as soon as they announce the RV and exchanging the new for the old. See the dinar that is held outside the country is going to be used for the following; dinar for oil as we have read in an article a few days ago, traded between countries paying off debt or reserve currency. At the horizontal level: Delete the three zeroes Leads to convert 30 trillion dinars to 30 billion dinars by deleting three zeros from the currency and replace the current in order to facilitate the process of dealing arithmetic I just love this part.... Nice news article jonjon, I like this part too...... Ban, who embarked today on an Asian tour, is scheduled to leave Kuwait for Iraq on March 29 to attend the Arab Summit in Baghdad. It's funny how he is leaving on an Asian tour but then he will be leaving Kuwait on March 29 heading to the Summit. I wonder why he would make it a point to be in Kuwait right before he is scheduled to speak at the Summit, I read that speaking part somewhere else folks.....interesting....

Well I don't see your point but it really doesn't matter if it's Kobler, Ki-moon or both that visit all three places 100 times back in forth as long as it gets done and VII is released. I do think that when the RV happens it will all go down either at the same time or announced within a reasonable time period of each other. With the Defense Minister announcement coming and all the other great news we should see the RV this week, I could be wrong and it happens next week but with the Summit starting a week from today I don't see it being announced during the Summit myself but heck I could be wrong about the whole thing.......hell I'm just the ole Drill Sgt. counting on you to keep'em off my tail... idplzr, Thank you and I just read the closing of the borders article that made me do this.. ..what are these people finally doing to us. They drag their feet for years, our troops leave two weeks early, things start looking like they are about to take shape and then all hell breaks loose. We wake up to see them about to start a Civil War, killing each other every day I start wondering like other if this will ever see the light of day. And now the news keeps coming without conviction, everyone decides to get along making signs of life in this new democracy. All we can do now is watch as the invited guest start sending their delecations today for what is looking like the biggest game changer of all times. It is great to see so many nice and deserving folks in this investment, here's hoping for all of us.....

Trinity, ...that is exactly what Shabibi wants, a full seated GOI by the NCSP formation (power sharing) before he releases the RV. ....budget will be ratified and posted in the Gazette this week.... ....the remaining Erbil agreement issues are ready to be implemented.... ....and Chapter VII needs released before the currency can go international... ....international currency means Iraq will become a full member of the World Trade Organization.... ....WTO means that Iraq becomes a free market economy..... ....all of this has made the IMF happy..... ....and that is why I know all the above will get done and we can all eat BBQ and enjoy our new fellowship... .....cause I think the RV will take place this week........bada bing.... ....Shabibi, get this done so I'm not wrong....

That is the 25 trillion dinar question LHam.... In these article it seems that they are saying that they have been removing the zero currency from circulation and it is done, hence the word "successful"..as in this statement...describing the project to delete the three zeroes from the currency as "successful" and the time specified ideal for replacing them....the replacing them meaning with the new currency the say is being printed, according to this article. This also reduces the amount of the 25 trillion dinars they say that is outside the CBI or in circulation, make it possible to make a nice return on our investment. And when I say done I mean done for now because when they do announce the change in the exchange rate (RV) then they will continue removing what is left in circulation in the country. This is the way I understand this article to mean but I like others believe that this is possible and how it could work thus we could see a big profit. Now there are others that say the that zeros will be deleted like has been done in other countries like Turkey where six zeros were deleted, in this event the 25,000 will become 25 dinars and a neutral process will occur...we make no money and may lose because of the spread and exchange rate, this is called a lop. Or they can lop and then RV to let's say a dollar, well then we will make a small profit. They could lop two zeros and RV, see they could do several things and the answer is we just don't know. But what we are doing is researching to understand the possibilities that could happen....good thing is that you are new and do not have to put up with all the up and downs that this investment has had for a lot of us, in other words you are one of the lucky ones......we are just about over with this right IMO....

Carrello, I too believe the currency is printed but let's say it's not for the sake of this article and they now say they have (4) companies printing now because the process is speeding up as far as trading the new with the old. See when they have told us/them that it would take two years for the two currencies to co-exist...that told me that it would take two years to slowly exchange as the old would cycle thru the normal trail. But now everything seems to be urgent (my favorite word you know), could it be they want it cycled faster for some reason and need all the currency printed now. In a normal cycle like here in the states they are always printing and destroying old bills but in a country like Iraq they may want to speed up the process to maybe 6 months. This could be because they what to de-dollarize faster, that would get the citizens to come in and open accounts, getting educated, handed smart cards and electronic phone banking set up all at the same time. I really beginning to believe that our dinar that we speculators hold all over the world (in the countries that liberated them anyway and are allowed to own the dinar) will never see the Iraq borders ever again, this dinar is the dinar that will be reserve holdings, traded back for discounted oil and used to pay down deficits all electronically. BTW if you want to make some money on this the way I do you need to know that all this is possible as while. If you don't than you than are the ones that think it will be a long slow rise in the rate over time, which there is nothing wrong with that theory but I sure like mine better though. You know if you look at it the way this guy is telling the story here it then tells you that this makes sense; Shabibi said that he was ready to start deleting the zeros June 22, 2011. Go back a few days later and Maliki and Shabibi had a meeting in where Shabibi tells Maliki that he has the tools to start the project. You know this folks, every one of my buddies thought we were going to see the RV but now I know that he was saying just this, the project started then... You know I would really be surprised if we made it through this week with out seeing a change in the rate but then again we are talking about Iraq...

I think this is last weeks news Rayzur because of the going to visit the border area, Iraq officials and Kuwait officials comments but at the same time I thought the article I read talked about Ki-moon being the one that was going to visit the border markings then go to Kuwait, back to Baghdad. will next week visit to the border area in terms of Iraq, speak again with Iraqi officials and back again to visit Kuwait. Interesting that this one talks about it being Martin Kobler and not Ki-moon, I really don't think both would be doing this so I don't see this article being correct or the writer doesn't have is facts straight. If they RV and Chapter VII is not lifted yet can cash-n only happen in Iraq? That's a good question but I would say the answer is no. We may not be able to go to a bank but brokers will be able to cash you in IMO, but I would watch their rates of exchange and spread tho. Can they go international with their currency before Chapter VII is officially released and the answer IMO would be no but I just have a feeling that if RV happens there most likely is an exciption to the release of Chapter VII that we just don't know about. Interesting article.....

The citizens would have no impact on the Arab Summit when the RV takes place before the Summit. the summit is about countries , investors and companies building relationships thru trust....... ...what better way of showing the Arab Community to have trust in Iraq then a revaluation of the Iraq Dinar..... ...the citizens doing banking will not have any affect on what goes on in the summit..... ...that is why Shabibi says education will play a big part in the project....

Folks, This to me says that all of the Erbil Agreements are ready to be announced and the implemented but will take time to get fully completed. Example; HCL will be easy but Article 140 takes time to make sure the right families get paid and all damages are covered as well. We just keep finding pieces to the puzzle and that is because these people like to talk, good or bad and that's also why we should see this before the Arab Summit.
