since it will never be known what Iraq is thinking until after it has been done. let me throw this out. maybe lost in translation is just something simple. when they say they are going to remove the 3 000's from circulation, maybe that is just it, remove them as they are turned in. the Dinar RV at 1:1 and as the larger bills are turned in to the banks they will be kept their for interbank trading and that is all that is meant by removing the 3 0's / larger bills from circulation.

Let me throw something out here. Since most of the money held in this country is just an electronic transaction. It would be impossible for the US government to cash out everyone in the world with the physical equivalant of there dollar holdings. Does that mean that your dollar is not worth a dollar? No, of course not. Money is just numbers floating in cyberspace. We have nothing to back our dollar, who cares if they have enough to back theirs.

I'm no genius, but I do not think that everyone will be cashing in a day one of the RV. Countries that are holding Dinar and then will hold your investment in the banking system to use for future purchases, will be alot slower at hitting Iraq. Meanwhile the export prices in Iraq continue to climb and build their assets / reserves. JMO. Like I said I'm no genius.

My bank also requires that they be sent off, but when I asked them what rate I would receive they said it would be the rate at the time that I turned them over, that same days rate.

That's what i've been thinking for awhile now and just wondered if it was possible. Not real sure how the surge of cash ins will effect the value. Should I choose my local bank that might have a slightly higher spread on day one or take the chance that the rate won't go down much and the better spread that Ali said he will offer.

Just been thinking about what is going to happen in the 2-3 days it will take Ali to open his other offices after the RV. If there is a rate mechanism in effect, then no problem. But, if there is no ERM in place, is there a possibility of the trade value decreasing dramatically in those 2-3 days. Just wondering if Ali had some kind of angle to this RV. Surely the money he would take in on the day of the RV would offset employee wages and rental costs of already having those locations operating. Or, and bare with me here, maybe just an overactive imagination. If the value plunges in that period of time and then Ali is offering the best rate you can get, all be it a lot lower than the actual RV, he then transfers that to his bank in Iraq and has made a fortune on your investment. Just a thought

First and foremost, we can not forget that we are dealing with politicians. That being said, there isn't one of them on this planet who wouldn't play the ace-in-the-hole that Maliki currently is holding. Not sure on the Election Code of Conduct, is it real law that has been passed or just a rumor? But if there is a timeframe in place where no laws can passed to further the campaign of any one candidate, then you can bet that this will be played out before that date comes. JMO

it would probably just make the transaction faster. as they could verify your dinar at the bank instead of shipping them off for verification and then you recievng your funds after that, however long it takes. my banks says anywhere from a week to ten days for turnaround.

I just searched the UN site and the only thing posted of this meeting is a photo. Decission on the UN in Iraq for 2010 is the title of the photo in the multimedia section. But I found no evidence of what was discussed in this meeting. Plenty of info on Haiti and other talks from todays schedule but nothing posted from this meeting on Iraq and the UN's involvement for 2010.
