  1. Cool.... Can you elucidate on how you proved it? Or is it just your opinion? Thanks!
  2. Somebody posted a screenshot on DD's website of a Bloomberg Terminal. One of the items listed was, "IRAQ CENTRAL BANK GOVERNOR SPEAKS IN TELEVISED SPEECH." Pictures of the screenshots are below. You decide if they're photoshopped. Your call whether or not you choose to believe.
  3. Yeah.................. just like people's real estate that the government has CONFISCATED by "Right of Eminent Domain." They pay the property owner some bullpucky amount and then turn around and sell it to a real estate developer so they can build a MALL. And the mall pays a bunch of local taxes, more than they ever got from the homeowner. This has already happened. They said, "It's for the good of the community..." unless you happen to be one of the citizens in the community who had your property confiscated. But hey, you got paid, RIGHT? "Give me your gold. I will pay you. If you don't, I'll shoot you, then take it and NOT pay you." I believe I read in this thread that people were paid some $20 / ounce for their gold under the FDR law. A period of time later, gold was worth WELL over $30 oz. But hey, people got paid, RIGHT? So F'n what??? What if they didn't WANT to sell? What if THEY wanted to make the gain on the sale? Tony Soprano would've loved FDR. This government sickens me day by day. I'm beginning to think the most precious metal we can own after this RV is in the form of blue steel, of the likes forged by Springfield Armory.
  4. Compared to some 65 year old guy who's been saving for retirement for the last 35 years, and has (if he's VERY lucky) over $200K? YEAH. It's a VERY short ride.
  5. Reports coming in that the KUWAITI Dinar is showing a bank rate of 4.11.
  6. This sounds incredibly too painful for you. I'm sure someone here would be glad to assist you by relieving you of this "never-gonna-be-worth-anything dinar." P.S. I was in an RV for 2 weeks. Painful. Good view. I think Einstein said it like this "It is impossible to solve a problem using the same level of thinking that got you into the problem in the first place," or something close to that.
  7. Hopefully his cellmate will be name Jean-Claude...
  8. NO company will do business in Iraq unless and until they believe they will be able to take profit out of the country. Good news.
  9. It's Klingon. No, I'm not kidding. And he called someone a bad name.
  10. It wouldn't necessarily mean the IQD is getting "weaker," it could signal that it is the same, but decreasing in exchange rate relative to the strengthening USD. No worries (imho).
  11. Imho, it has NOTHING to do with the IQD and everything to do with a slight bump in the strength of the dollar: Gold, Silver and Oil are all down in recent days.
  12. If you're in FRONT of her in a camel race. . . think of the view SHE would be "enjoying. . ."
  13. Took me a second, but I recognized one of the words as Klingon as well. That's disturbing. Shaka. When the walls fell. Darmok and Gilad, on the ocean. . .
  14. "How ya doin' on the dinar investment, Charlie Sheen?" "Duh! Winning. It RV'd in Switzerland. . ."
  15. In an interesting twist. . . I went to my BofA to speak with the manager on a separate issue: got ripped off through PayPal and had to get it resolved (we did, got our money back, BofA was VERY good about it). Then, at my wife's prompting, I asked her about the availability/accessibility of funds from a large wire transfer, possibly in the millions, telling her that we'd heard rumors that large wire transfers that are immediately accessed and wired somewhere else would raise red flags with the Feds and that the funds could be frozen. She said, "Well, if the origination point of the wire is inside the U.S. they can usually post in your account and be accessible in 24 hours; if they're wired in from outside the U.S. it can take a few weeks." [side note: next time you see a Hollywood flic where someone is wiring money and they say they're going to "kill the girl" or "blow up the building" if the money isn't transferred in 5 minutes. . . BS]. So. . . taking the next step, she asked where the money would come from (ie. Source Of Funds). I said with a smile, "Iraqi Dinar." She looked at me DEAD IN THE EYE and said, simply, "Ok." She didn't even FLINCH. No questions, no talk about 'scam,' no nuthin', just "Ok." And she said it quite matter-of-factly. I thought that was pretty cool.
