  1. Very strongly agree. Everybody needs a little dignity. If the tax money stayed where it originated, there would be no need for grants. Every small town, small group hires people to do their grant work. Government has gotten so out of control and makes people think they are being done a favor with a grant. With their own money? That is a good sell job. About like the shoe salesman that goes to an African country where no one wears shoes and then convinces everybody they need shoes. Pathetic to say the least.
  2. Nam is a place I would like to forget, but they do have fish oil.
  3. I've had several customers over the years that couldn't pay their bill but always lived in a nice house and drove new cars. Sounds to me like a broke US city building a new stadium to attract an NFL team to build the economy. Hope they get the job done.
  4. GOP wants to replace health bill. Had several years to come up with a PLAN. Hasn't happened. DEMS want to keep health, but know that changes to Medicare and Medicaid need to be made and come up with the money. Several years to do. Hasn't happened. Now they want an August recess? For what? Fund raising? You and I as voters have no control over our elected officials. We don't make the rules. We can't. We can't withhold salary because they don't work. All we can do is send a letter that somebody else reads. Check the House Registry and see how many bills are on the docket since 01/07/2017 and how many have been voted on and the relevance to the national situation. Not many. As long the situation as is exists, we, as registered voters, are SOL. And so it goes in Iraq. We have infrastructure that is crumbling. So do they. We don't have the money to fix. Neither do they. So what happens now? Hurry up and wait. And everyone needs to take a good look at Illinois, their unfunded pensions, past due bills, political one-sidedness, Chicago crime rates, murder rates, health care, and much more. The university I graduated from has lost many students because of underfunding. And it was a small one. There are a lot of problems that need to be fixed, both here and Iraq. Until the politicians get their hands out of the pot, won't happen
  5. Hey, the skinny kid is a lot braver when The Rock is standing behind him.
  6. You and me both. Certainly got a good lesson in finance and how people get around the government. And the money traders are just working to make a living. Long hours but the pay is good.
  7. Just got back from Belize and had the pleasure to talk to a Canadian that has been there for 30 years. Black market money traders are all over. Business people wanting to buy US goods need to pay in US dollars. The Belize government makes them jump through a lot of hoops to be able to do that. But the black market traders can make it happen without the government. Went over to Mexico for a day trip and stopped at the border to exchange dollars for pesos. Didn't cost anything. But when we came back, the same trader only had Belize dollars. He sells the US dollar at a premium to make his money. And you can cash a check in US dollars for Belize. Big ones too. People know how to beat the system. So it goes for Iraq.
  8. Same crap we have here. VA run out of money AGAIN, Go figure. All that has happened today will not change anything. Iraq taking lessons from our own.
  9. Hey when you are in charge and getting a paycheck why worry about the peons. life is like that.
  10. We got the same problem right here. They wanted to be elected should be 80 hours a week 7 days a week until something gets accomplished
  11. Don't know why a deal like this is going down. Iraq is burning off more than that from their own wells. Money spent on Iranian gas would go a long way to rebuild the infrastructure in Iraq.
