  9. Here's the link... http://www.ameinfo.com/255945.html weird: first it says 82.6bn - BILLION - RIGHT? then it says: ID66.6trn = Trilliion - right? well which is it? weeks ago someone said that if the budget is in billions - then that would mean the new RV'd rate - and if it was trillions - then that was the OLD pre RV rate... ANY IDEAS? An ID96.6trn ($82.6bn) budget has been proposed by the Iraqi cabinet for 2011, its latest revision of its spending plans after haggling with lawmakers amid rising oil prices, Reuters has reported. The bulk of the budget, ID66.6trn, had been allocated to operational expenses, while ID30trn would go to investment, government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said. The budget was based on an average oil price of $76.50 per barrel and 2.2 million barrels per day in crude exports.
  10. great nice and simple! I prefer to buy from dinar trade & banker but this is good to know in a pinch... 1 - do you need to have an account to order? 2 - how do their rates compare with dinar trade & banker?
  11. I'm interested in your opinions in how all this unrest in the middle east might affect the RV... example: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/28/clashes-erupt-in-cairo-elbaradei-told-to-stay-put-cnn-camera-confiscated/?hpt=T1&iref=BN1
  12. I didn't know about purchasing dinar from capitol 1. Can you provide details as to how to do this?
  13. Assuming that we want to be totally above board as far as paying out share of taxes, well when it RV's it's going to feel like Christmas, so are there any tax issues regarding giving away a few dinar PRIOR to the RV, like Stocking Stuffers? So let's say I got a 10k note for 30.00 or less (going rate) and I want to give it to a friend PRIOR to RV when it still is relatively worthless in cash, are there any tax issues for ME? What if I sold it for what I paid for it? Also, I'll assume that the person receiving will pay their fair share of taxes after they cash in.
  14. here's a good english site for news din't see any RV info yet http://www.azzaman.com/english/index.asp?code=ennewsen
  15. It would seem to me that the people of Iraq would know about the RV - right? Therefore I would think that it would be a major subject in the Iraqi media. I'm thinking that is where some of out best 'RV intel' might come from. Question: Can someone point me ( and all of us) to some good links about this (that have been translated to english)? Also someone said they heard a tiny snippet on either KPFK or NPR in the last 3 or 4 days about trouble with the formation of the GOI. It would make sense that the RV would not happen before this. Don't you agree? I'll be looking here - amongst others. http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/forum/5-iraq-dinar-related-news/ BTW: I will check their sites for archives but appreciate any news and links of this issue.
  16. I saw this and wonder how it might affect the RV...? Critics alarmed as Iraq's Maliki centralises power http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSLDE70M0B620110123 Sun Jan 23, 2011 11:50am EST * Central bank among institutions affected * Critics denounce 'coup against constitution' * Government says bodies were hijacked by agendas By Ahmed Rasheed BAGHDAD, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has won a court ruling placing independent bodies like the central bank and the electoral agency under the cabinet, a centralisation of power that critics are calling a "coup". Maliki's government made the request to the supreme court in December before he was reappointed later that month to a second term, and the court ruling in his favour came through last Tuesday, generating little controversy at first. The independent agencies affected are supposed to be monitored by parliament according to the constitution, hastily drawn up in the chaotic aftermath of the 2003 U.S.-led invasion. Maliki argued that where the language describing parliament's monitoring powers over the agencies was ambiguous, the bodies should be attached to the cabinet. The court agreed. The main agencies affected are the Central Bank of Iraq, the Independent Higher Electoral Commission, anti-corruption watchdog the Integrity Commission and the High Commission for Human Rights. "The court views that the term 'monitoring by' is not clear enough to place these under parliament's authority, therefore they should be attached to the cabinet," the ruling said. The decision alarmed critics who view with suspicion glimpses of authoritarian leanings in some of Maliki's actions. The democracy bestowed on Iraq by U.S. administrators after Sunni dictator Saddam Hussein was ousted is fragile and unique in a region accustomed to strongmen and presidents for life. Its future is murky as U.S. forces prepare to withdraw this year. "We consider the request of Nuri al-Maliki to the court to be a coup against the constitution that puts Iraq's democracy on the line," said Haider al-Mulla, a member of parliament and spokesman for the Sunni-backed Iraqiya bloc. CRITICISM OF MOVE
  17. Thanks - wingsofhope for the info - that makes sense.
  18. Hi All Newbie question: Post RV - what about the stability of the Dinar? as far as : pegged rate? floating rate? managed floating rate? will it be managed for some time then eventually be floating? If so how long will it be managed? … or how will this work?
  19. lastdate="UNREGISTERED. January 2 2004 05:06:37 GMT i also do some programming and think that: maybe - someone downloaded this code (cheap or free version) - and never registered and so it does not update.... since 2004 - however they cut corners and maybe they update by hand instead or something... and that works for them... just a thought....
  20. it says : Exchange Rates against (KWD) that's interesting - maybe it means 1 to 1 again KWD? what is the KWD at now? also says KWD is USD Us Dollar 0.2812 0.2833 good news?
  21. if I understand things correctly, dinarbanker said that if the RV happens before the 30 day limit, then they will just pay the balance by taking it out of your profits. If true, that sounds a lot simpler, doesn't it?
