  1. And then what? Will he make all your worries go away? Iraq is a cesspool. Banking your future on those monkeys is like licking sand. Its just not good. Sit on your dinar and forget about it.
  2. I hope for martial law. I will be one of those who thunk your head if your not in bed by 9.....oh and I will take your carefully horded food. Short of martial law, I sure hope the IQD RV's soon.
  3. No surprise. Pretty much business as usual in the middle east.
  4. I read this thread from beginning to end. Haven't been that interested in this forum for a long time. Thanks for the entertainment.

Hi is right about the Warka Bank and its issues. The embassy branch is closing down and being replaced by another bank. Smartpeople are pulling thier money out. It took 4 weeks to transfer all my fund out of Warka but I got it all finally after emailing the CEO Saad Sadoon al Bunia and filing a complaint. He did respond back and 2 days later got my money.
  6. It is and it will get worse before it gets better. Would not be suprised if the 72 hrs stretches into weeks. Streets are bad enough with traffic jams, now getting crowded with protesters. Not everywhere but in enough places to impact the city.
  7. Being in Iraq I understand what the post is trying to convey. I have a job and am not planning, nor banking on a quick revalue. Its just good business not to assume riches will fall into my lap on Mondays or Fridays.
  8. I would be very suprised indeed if Obama even broaches the subject of an rv/ri in Iraq. I just can't see it happening. I feel that Obama is a one term President and he would be foolish not to see that himself.

    WARKA BANK

Having my warka account is slowly paying for its self. Last years interest earned: little over 750,000 IQD. This bank has been interesting to work with to say the least.
  10. This entire thread is a shame and shouldn't be allowed to remain another day on this site. Because I cannot afford VIP, or choose not to join VIP I am a "free loader"? Adam: When you asked for financial support for this site I gave what I could afford because I do read from this site more than other sites.. I don't post all that often and in general keep pretty quiet but enjoy much of what is posted,,,,,,even the somewhat radical. If you feel that I am a free loader then you have both my emails and you should let me know and I will walk away. As for Bumper and his post about headhunting negative voters. Seriously????? How sad. For the record: I live and work in Iraq providing diplomatic security. It is my fortunate position to be present during many high ranking meetings, as well as visit with locals from all over Baghdad. I don't post what I hear, see or know mainly because I: 1. Want to keep my job. 2. Most information cannot be backed up with links. So I don't share. But....many of these rumors usually have a small grain of actual information in them that the discerning can gather from and place in the toolbox of info. This site is usually good for that. If I am not longer welcome here then Adam, you should tell me, other wise it is my opinion that this thread should disappear.
  11. I agree. Close this thread.
  12. Its just another day for Iraqis. Every Iraqi that I have talked with are indifferent to an IQD revalue. Daily survival seems to be more important to them. I tend to agree.
  13. I have reached my quota of negative votes. -1
  14. Seriously???? The very beginning of the post states it as opinion, so it should be very evident that there wouldn't be data to back it up. Would you like a tissue with your tears? I for one continue to enjoy the opinions and speculations of the more inventive.
  15. Cheyanne is not that big. If you really want to know the answers to your questions then do your own due diligence and make a few phone calls. How hard is that? As for 3.47.........Cool.
  16. Ooooooh, ouch! Wonderbread is always wrong, you should know by now that Wonderbread claims to be something its not. Sorry to rain on your contact, try the bearclaw, he is usually spot on.
  17. Stopped in the Warka Bank today at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. Bank teller told me that she does not have denominations lower than 50 IQD. When I asked her when she would have lower denominations she looked dumbfounded and responded "what lower"? we only have as low as 50. FYI.
  18. Just don't talk about anything that you want to, never add any negative or contrary feedback, always praise adam, and you won't get kicked. haha.

    Al Malaki

Most people in Iraq know that Maliki is a moron. We also know that middle eastern people as a general rule do not like outsiders, especially infedels. Its not unusual for politicians over here to spout anti everybody jargon. No need to be worried. I have several friends who have left their lives in America to liver cheaper and easier in Thailand, so the poster in this thread who lives in the jungle......more power to you buddy.
  20. Getting worked up in the rumor section???????? HAHAHAHA. Independent thinkers should not have this problem. Do your due diligence and quit relying on others to dictate your emotions. Silly rabbits...tricks are for kids.
  21. Iraq is not a good place to do business. I'm here and I see it daily. I wouldn't trust these people for anything. My only hope is to make money off their currency and go home, leaving these people behind.
  22. The phone service in Iraq sucks. Dropped calls happen all the time. Off topic: why do I have a quota on negative votes? Thats silly.
  23. "We the good people"????? Don't include me in your little group then. I enjoy reading all kinds of rumors in the RUMOR section. So to answer your question; I don't agree with you.
  24. Asking in the rumor section is always a good start.
