  1. Yeah, probably Maliki and/or Maliki's puppet masters. Really wish the puppet master strings would get cut and Alaaq would drop out of there!
  2. The position Alaaq is taking here will get him fired, or should get him fired, for blatantly refusing to exercise his duties as acting CBI Governor. Alaaq cannot be ousted soon enough! Maybe he is on the list of people with hands in the cookie jar and he will be removed from CBI Governor because of a coming indictment.
  3. I suspect the articles are stating there ain't no mo vacation from a stinkin' prison cell!
  4. In the last two articles, Christine LaGarde (head of the International Monetary Fund) is mentioned as attending the historic Council session this coming Saturday. I don't remember her being mentioned before as planning on attending the historic Council session. The last two articles do not mention Jim Yong Kim (President of the World Bank) attending the historic Council session but he was noted before that he would attend the historic Council session. Maybe Jim Yong Kim will still be there? Maybe Christine LaGarde is replacing Jim Yong Kim's role in addressing the political, security, and economic situation in Iraq and the region? Maybe nothing but seems interesting that there is a relatively last minute (potential) change in the major line up for attendance at the historic Council session.
  5. Thank You, Dinar Thug, for noting Master Newshound Yota's 50,000 plus posts! Almost seems like frequent flyer points. Maybe Yota can cash some of these in for a trip to his destination of choice! So he can relax. Will miss his posts, though! Thank You, Yota, for your tireless support of DV with your exceptionally relevant news item posts!
  6. As of 3:30 pm Baghdad time, the www.cbi.iq currency auction information is shown for Sunday March 20, 2016 and does not show today's numbers, if there are any. Maybe the sit in protest is helping, or something. Maybe the currency auction numbers in the near future are something to watch.
  7. I really agree with you here. I'm pretty sure the ICC Crimes Against Humanity is the "Axe In The Blind" to loose Maliki and his associates. I really think this is the case because of what happened with Slobodan Milosevic as an outcome of the Bosnian Muslim slaughters. Here is a link to an ICC Slobodan Milosevic trial account: http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/03/11/milosevic.trial/ Here is an excerpt from the article: He faced charges of crimes against humanity, violations of the laws and customs of war, and genocide, an explosive charge emanating from the Bosnian conflict, in which tens of thousands of Bosnian Muslims were killed or chased from their homes by Bosnian Serb forces in Srebrenica, where about 8,000 males were killed, and Sarajevo, a city terrorized by a Bosnian-Serb-led siege. Slobodan Milosevic even tried to subpoena ex-President Bill Clinton. Here again from the article: Just last month, his lawyers sought a subpoena to force former U.S. President Bill Clinton to testify at his trial. Milosevic has also asked the court to subpoena as a witness Clark, who directed NATO's bombing of Kosovo in an 11-week campaign led by Clinton and British Prime Minister Tony Blair. I suspect, just like Slobodan Milosevic, al-Maliki and his associates will experience a long and painful "no friends around no more" fate at the hands of the ICC at some time in the (hopefully soon) future.
  8. Seems like little by little everybody (government officials, retirees, displaced individuals, etc.) is getting on these Smart Cards and will make it easier to revalue the IQD.
  9. I was thinking all that, too. A lot of blah, blah, blah stuff and no substance to what they are saying. Seems like a stalling tactic - but for what? Where did the eight day break come from? Seems like the break just came up and may have something (or everything) to do with the UN Secretary General and World Bank President addressing the Iraqi Parliament on Saturday, March 26. The next week could have a lot of filler articles focusing on the al-Sadr sit in, ISIS extermination, Mosul Dam integrity, and Cabinet Technocrat rhetoric with associated drama. Potentially, the very last part of March and early April could be action packed with newly aligned ducks in a row and marching orders announced.
  10. What???!!! Most folks know these articles are all reformatted, recycled, and blatant lies!!! Yes, truth is significant - very much and of the utmost significance. These articles are not the truth and, therefore, insignificant and certainly not worth any credence of any sort.
  11. NOT! Maybe filling a lot of corrupt people's pockets. These currency auctions are one means of keeping the IQD value low compared to the USD (lots of IQD to get a USD).
  12. Hope so! Or at least have contact with those who can out the CBI corruption.
  13. Good news here! About the only thing better is Dr. Shabibi back!
  14. Here is a link to an article stating the US is asking the UN Security Council to discuss Iran's recent missile launches on Monday. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-asks-un-security-council-to-meet-on-iran-missile-tests-monday/ar-AAgFYJW?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=mailsignout
  15. The Iraqi business week is our Sunday through Thursday. If I understand correctly, the CBI has had daily currency auctions every week day (5 - our Sunday through Thursday) except for their holidays. Hopefully, daily currency auctions will be a thing of the past soon!
  16. Congratulations Luigi1 - You now have -866 (ruby) votes! Way to rack 'em up! Here is the CBI website (English) where the Iraqi Dinar (IQD) still shows the exchange rates for other major foreign currencies. http://www.cbi.iq/ The article states, "THE CBI JUST TOOK THEIR DINAR OFF THEIR WEBSITE. THE ENGLISH VERSION HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED YET." This rumor has been posted many times before and is now being recycled (IQD rates not shown on the Arabic side but is showing on the English side). Here is a link to a comment I made on one of your previous "it's all done posts" and "were are there" on such and such a date. http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/216703-it-is-finishedjust-waiting-for-the-formal-announcement/?p=1624457 The exchange date was supposed to be before Friday, March 4, 2016 according to the post in the link. We are past that now. Do you see why these articles are worth nothing more than used toilet paper? So, why do you post them here? What is your motive? Giving any credence to these folks pre event shows a significant level of gullibility. Unfortunately, these same gullible folks may (or most likely) part with their IQD under some pretention and lose their IQD to some scammer post event. My belief is most folk in this forum really want people to receive the most from their IQD investment and not to be taken advantage of or scammed. This can't be too hard to understand or accept! This post, like the other posts you make containing information from these folks, is pure male bovine excrement. Most folks here have moved past these dinar pumpers, scammers, outright liars, etc. Will you move on from these folks and join us and support providing good information people can actually use in relation to realizing the reasonable potential from their IQD investment? It may be obvious to most folks but your ruby vote count is likely an accurate indicator of your need to seriously reconsider the posts you make like the one you posted here.
  17. Am I reading this right? Buy/Sell IQD 127.00/126.00 = 1 USD in the Iraqi markets? If so, we are moving in the right direction! On the CBI home page, there is a new link for the CBI Strategic Plan for 2016-2020. Sorry, for some reason, would not copy. Here is the CBI home page: http://www.cbi.iq/ On page 11, for "Stable and steady exchange rate:" Re-Structure the non-banking financial institutions particularly those in money transfer and exchange through, Withdraw excessive cash in the market and regulate sufficient amount of banknotes. Diversify investment tools qualitatively and timely and introduce convertible new currencies. Authorise responsible department(s) to perform and utilize their tasks and duties in purchasing and selling of foreign currencies and investment tools. Re-structure or review periodically the interest rates. This is good news to me! Hopefully, these items will be implemented as soon as possible in 2016 and not wait until the end of 2020! The CBI currency auction for March 10, 2016 is: Currency Auctions Announcement No. (3155) The opening offers the sale and purchase of foreign currency in the window of the Central Bank of Iraq on 10/3/2016 and the results were as follows: Details Notes Number of banks 24 Number of remittance companies 20 Auction price selling dinar / US$ 1182 Auction price buying dinar / US$ ----- Amount sold at auction price (US$) 92,700,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$) ----- Total offers for buying (US$) 92,700,000 Total offers for selling (US$) ----- Hopefully, these auctions will be ending soon.
  18. Thank You, Yota, for these great articles! Looks like Maliki's days are numbered and the Iranian influence in Iraq could be booted at the same time! Hopefully, all the Iranian militias will be forced to leave Iraq soon as well. If nothing else, looks like a thorough Iraqi housecleaning is under way. Things are looking better and better all the time. We just may see the change we have been waiting for shortly!
  19. The article states, "Approaching Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to provide new his cabinet in the coming days, after being part of winning a parliamentary majority of 172 votes in parliament. She talks, parliamentary sources that al-Abadi within the support of the Supreme Council of the National Alliance, as well as Kurds and Sunnis." If I understand correctly, there are 325 seats in Parliament and a support of 172 parliamentarians is stated. Hopefully, none of the 172 parliamentarian supporters are the nominally 60 Ghost Parliamentarians. The article also states, "The leader of the state law that "the document was delivered to the blocks coalition to demonstrate her opinion, but without knowing that it was the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, selected names in the document had been adopted," pointing out that "the next 48 hours will appear where the decisive result on the views of the coalition blocks both on Abadi reformist project or a change in government, after knowing the names included in the document." Looks like by the time Monday, March 14 rolls around, we could know the fallout of the cabinet selections. Hopefully, it is peaceful and is implemented quickly. March 14 is nominally two weeks until the end of the 45 days al-Sadr set for implementing the new cabinet. Also hopeful is al-Sadr will agree to the changes.
  20. The article linked in my previous post states, "Iran also has fired rockets near U.S. warships and flown an unarmed drone over an American aircraft carrier in recent months." I wonder if this is the same US drone the Iranians took possession of in December of 2011. Seems like someone(s) could use these actions as a pretext for engagement. http://www.newsweek.com/iran-says-it-has-flown-replica-us-drone-captured-2011-283440
  21. Thank You, Eagle Eye, for the great post! Truly, the B-52 is an amazing bomber with strategic utility in the foreseeable future. Seems like some Heavy Lifting via the B-52s in the area to wipe out ISIS (yeah!). No wonder Joe and Abadi are talking about loans to rebuild Iraq due to the ISIS conflict! I am hoping this does not set the stage for a wider conflict with the missiles Iran has launched very recently in violation of the negotiated nuclear deal last July. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/iran-fires-2-missiles-marked-with-israel-must-be-wiped-out/ar-AAgyHzs?li=BBnbfcL
