  1. Renee...I understand and appreciate your comment about making peace with God. But I would also be curious if he went back to the women he wronged and asked for forgivenes...and not at a time when he was under the spot light of running for President. From the interview of his ex wife, I don't think this was done, but perhaps I'm missing it. For the record, I like Newt...he's smart, doesn't take a bunch of crap and he is very familar with how the system works. IMHO, he has the best chance to face Obama head on in various debates. Note to the RP group, I have no issues with him, and will gladly support him as well if he ends up being the Republican contender. Tiff
  2. Here Here Shabs....it's all fun and games until they blow up the planet and crap in their own fox hole. Hmmm...stuff like this just makes me want to scream out: Stop being so stupid.. it’s my turn! Tiff
  3. “Let He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” John 8:7 Here is a rhetorical question: which president, world leader or even presidential candidate would pick up that stone? Lying is a well-honed tool of the Politician, no matter which Party they come from.
  4. Yup Sugar...did I stutter? You have been walking on the fringes for a while...either engage me with an intellectual challenge or read and pass on...don't be a little fence sitter and make snide remarks from the sideline. I think you are scared to take a stand on anything I write...if not, bring it on Big Guy....I'm your huckleberry luv ya Tiff
  5. The problem isn't the "bias" media...it's the fact that American parents don't know when to say "no"...and stop their lazy brats from watching tv, playing xbox (violent games) and texting non-stop. The break down of American's family network/values is what's the matter, not some guy thousands of miles away from you sitting in a big white house. Kids need to be reading, writing thank you notes....with real paper and pen, and playing outside. Instead of the $300 skateboard...give them a card board box and tell them to use their imagination. Instead of taking them to watch the latest Superhero movie, drop them off at the library so they can read Tom Sawyer. Yea I know...it's easier to just blame Obama instead of taking an active role in a child's life. Be that as a parent or a grand parent. Make a change...look the person in the mirror...make a difference Let the negative rains...as Gore would say...what an inconvenient truth... Tiff
  6. Hardmoney babe...you are suffering from both time and location bias...that is, during the time period that you are talking about...where women didn't have any rights and babies were sacrifices in the Native American culture...is that 1700 or 1970s? Here is a history of genocides: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocides_in_history Read thru it...the white christians were responsible for killing 80-90% of both Northern and Southern American Natives. Oh and what exactly were the white men doing to the black women during that same time period...when they weren't working them 7 days a week in the cotton fields they were r*ping them while the white women in the big house looked the other way. And let's talk a bit about the holier than thou white man during the same time period...crusades, witch hunts, Spanish inquisition, slavery...yea...great role models. Ok, the Apaches were one of the most aggressive tribes in American history...similar to the Comanche....I will agree 100%...brave warriors and didn't take crap from anyone. But what about the Navaho or the Hopi tribes, they were very docile and friendly. Like comparing the ancient Romans to the Greeks. You can read more about each tribe here: http://www.kidinfo.com/american_history/native_americans.html Bottomline, I would much preferred being a Native American woman throughout most of the last 300 years than been a white woman. You can't compare today's standards to yesteryears...to do so is frankly morally insensitive and factually evasive. Peace Tiff P.S. Fast sweetie...pick-ups don't even look good until u get a scratch or two...if u tell the lads at the bar that u are teary eyed because u dinged up your new Ford...they would first laugh you out of the bar and then probably go key it to get u over being such a pansy...really. Try it if u don't believe me.
  7. I humbly disagree but appreciate the respectfulness of your answer. As a Buddhist, we are taught to not let possessions possess us. Meaning if you are too worried about losing something, then you can't enjoy it. If you buy that new Corvette, but always park it in the back parking lot because you are afraid it will get ding...or stolen...then you live in fear. Having no religion was not a slap against believers, it means that if we didn't have different points of religion, where mine is considered wrong and yours is the only way...then we may just get along on this ball of mud..to have our own bit of paradise here...as in being able to co-exist. What is freedom? The Native Americans had very little possessions, but they lived off the land, and the land gave them food and shelter to live on..and they were VERY happy and grateful....in my book, that is truly Freedom. Socialism to me means that some work, but all end up getting the same regardless. That's not what Imagine is about...really Tiff
  8. Krome...we don't always agree...but in this case, you knocked it out of the park. well said And here is one of the greatest songs to supplement it....and if you don't understand why, then no one can explain it to ya....World Peace is where it's at.
  9. I think it is only human nature to think about the end of times...so I love to watch movies about how people would deal with it. Probably my all-time favorite is: On the Beach. I've seen both the 1960's release and I think the 1980 or 1990's release, both are simply outstanding. I have never cried so hard in my life. For those who aren't familiar with the storyline, a nuclear war has taken place, and the atomic cloud is slowly circumnavigating the globe, with Australia being the last major country left (sorry fellow kiwis). Anywho, the Australian gov't has doled out sometime of mercy pill (poison) that will put you to sleep. So the story follows how different people deal with their own end. The clip below is how a mother and father dealt with it..and their only child. I HIGHLY recommend you watch all 20 clips located on youtube...
  10. Easy...Ability to take control and inhabit the body of an individual. oh the naughty fun I would have....gives me goose bumps just thinking of the possiblities!
  11. Powerful and what an amazing example of what the human spirt can do and can overcome. Thanks Dive m for posting it!
  12. A bit lengthy clip from the Twilight zone regarding Bomb Shelters but...it get's the point across, if you have one and people know, they will try to get to it...and even if you "fend them off" , just knowing your neighbors are being slaughtered outside would make most of us go And at some point...you will have to emerge into a new world...one where you didn't help out others, dog eat dog world...you can have it...I'd rather go out in a flash of light, trying to help my fellow man...that's just me.
  13. krome...no disrespect but I'm pulling out the BS card on this story. I don't think this would pass any school board review for text books. I think this is another example of sensationalism. If this were true, it would make mainstream media. Every culture puts their own slant on history. I went to a British school when I was 9, and the American Revolutionary War was summed up in about half a page...and the end sentence stated that the same year that the Brits lost America, they won Australia. No disrespect to my British mates, but just to illustrate that all history is written for the audience that is reading it. Besides, the Vikings and/or the Chinese REALLY discovered America...oh sorry, what about the Native Americans that were here thousands of years before either..oops, there I go again, it's all in one's perception.
  14. Mr. P for Prez...u have my vote mate! . I don't care what opinion you have to begin with on ANY subject...let's chat, let's debate, let's examine each other's point of views. If at the end of the day, you and I have a dif of opinion...then guess what...we are F in g living breathing people...then let's go down to the local pub, shoot a game of pool, or play darts, drink a few pints, slap each other on the back (or rump ) and enjoy what little time we have on this ball of mud together. Just saying Tiff !
  15. You may think I'm taking a dig on RP by posting this, but I'm not. I respect "working girls" and their backing of RP.
  16. Published on January 22, 2012 by Dr. Dale Archer in Reading Between The (Head)Lines If you listen to one side of the media reports, Newt Gingrich is a philandering womanizer who dumps any woman who stands in the way of his Manhood's needs. If you listen to the other, he is an innocent victim of his ex-wife Marianne, a woman scorned, who is spreading malicious lies about him. My guess is, Newt's heart is somewhere in the middle. I'm not sure I can say the same for his libido. For thousands of years, the leaders of herds, packs, tribes, villages, cities, and nations have always been what is now known as the "Alpha Male". Whether it be a gorilla or a politician Evolutionary psychology states that the testosterone-laden urge to procreate or protect is genetically wired into the males of the species. Philosopher Ken Wilber says in his book A Brief History of Everything. that there are only two major drives generated by testosterone: to "F*#% it or Kill it." Author Sean O'Reilly turns the phrase into the acronym: FIKI. FIKI explains why men tend to be more impulsive than women, he argues. And of course, numerous studies indicate that men are much more likely to cheat than women. Obviously we are much more evolved than our cousin the Ape... not just because of our opposable thumbs, but because we have the ability to delay primal gratification out of a sense of what is right and fair. After all, when we marry, our promise is supposed to mean something. Of course, this isn't Mr. Gingrich's first battle with an ex. Or a mistress. He was in a similar situation in the early 80's with his first wife, Jackie Battley. She was in the hospital with cancer when he began discussions about the divorce, and six months after the divorce was final, Newt married Marianne Ginther, the mistress. So, once Marianne became the new Mrs. Gingrich, there was a pretty good chance that there would be an opening for a new Mistress Gingrich. And that's where House of Representatives staffer Callista Bisek comes in. Here's a heads up for Marianne and mistresses everywhere: When you marry the man who is cheating on his wife with you, you're married to a man that cheats on his wife. In Marianne's Nightline interview, she told Brian Ross that Newt had requested an open marriage to be able to continue his affair with Bisek, and that she chose to leave Newt because she would not comply. Newt refutes that comment and said it was a slanderous lie. But in a world of men who cheat and leave, isn't it refreshing to see that at least Newt asked? Not quite for permission mind you... but he asked nonetheless. Steven Colbert thinks so: "Here's the other thing that I don't think Newt Gingrich gets credit for," Colbert said. "A lot of politicians screw around on their wives, but he was enough of a gentleman to ask permission. That's a Southern gentleman. (Robert E.) Lee would have done it." Of course, having sex with someone who isn't your spouse doesn't make you a bad leader. Even the great JFK had his mistress Marilyn Monroe sing Happy Birthday to him while his wife Jackie sat beside him. John Edwards, Herman Cain, Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer... and myriad other politicians have had their wild oats sown by someone other than their wife. But when Newt is such a staunch champion of "family values", it is as hypocritical as a politician with an anti-G A Y platform being caught looking to score with young men.... Oh.... Wait..... So, the question is: will we ever learn? Will we ever get it? Men that want to be the Head of the most powerful nation in the world are essentially modern day warriors, cavemen; tribal chiefs. It is their genetic duty to want to "populate their villages" with as many women as possible. So, what can we do? Simple: we hold our politicians accountable and demand honesty. Mr. Gingrich, your South Carolina victory proves that your supporters are looking past the personal. But remember two things: 1: You haven't heard the end of this controversy. It's not helping your cause to have the children from your first wife say your second wife is lying about your third wife. 2: This country tends to forgive infidelity, but it most certainly will not forgive dishonesty. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/reading-between-the-headlines/201201/newt-gingrich-sex-lies-and-politics
  17. OMG...that is sooooo funny!
  18. I'm a bit confused with the challenge: "to come up with history that supports your candidates beliefs of how the US need to be run" Are you saying you want us to clearly define what our candidate's opinions/strategies are? Or are you asking for each of us to show how our candidate’s previous actions support their current stance? The first is easy, simply go to google and type in compare candidates, and/or you can take a quiz on how you feel about various topics and the computer will spit out the candidate that most closely resembles your views. Here is one such website: http://2012election.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=004491 As far as them changing their views from how they have voted/stated prior, well that is to be expected, and it isn’t as “slimy” as some of you may think…maybe a short explanation is need to explain the flip flop. To get elected as the GOP candidate, the runners have to appeal to the more conservative voters. Therefore, they seek to win over the more conservative voters, or the “ far right” by taking a very conservative stance. However, once they become the clear front runner and no longer have to worry about “ticking off” the far right, they can go more mainstream. I think Romney thought he had the nomination locked up, so he started to move more to the center, thus he “peaked” too early. Can’t really blame him, as Obama has “tons” of campaign money that he is itching to unload once a clear GOP contender is singled out. So Romney was taking a calculated risk and starting to move more to the middle. While Newt continued to campaign to the more southern conservatives, which paid huge dividends. BTW, I have nothing against RP, but he hasn’t built any momentum, and any independent run he makes will handicap the GOP candidate. And technically, you didn’t provide any evidence of your own. Perhaps you should lead off with what you think RP stands for. I think most of us, who support another GOP candidate, would specifically like to see what you think his foreign policy is. Respectfully, Tiff
  19. Man...People like some of you, are the reason people like me need medication.
  20. Ahh...The politician’s motto: The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you’ve got it made.
  21. Many wise words are spoken in jest, but they don’t compare with the number of stupid words spoken in earnest.
  22. I guess I'm having a real problem with all of the conspiracy theorist on this site......let's just say for a moment that you are all right, 9/11 wasn't what it appears to be, Obama is a flaming homo s*xual and didn't get the majority of the votes...it's all true. Then what? If in the best of times, you can't get the American people to off their sofa and out the door to vote, do you think exposing these so called lies are going to do it? I think our Gov't is fairly dysfunctional.....so if you guys are right, then what we have here is some very clever, powerful people manipulating us all. OMG...believe it or not, that actually sounds encouraging that someone is in control and that our Gov't isn't just plain incompetent. I dedicate this song to you all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgpE3r-jcLY&feature=related
  23. 1. Lord of the Rings (ok, i know those were 3 movies, but can I PLS have two more?) 2. Meet Joe Black (the play it was based on was Death takes a Holiday) 3.
