Having been on this ride since early 2004 I now find myself alone among those who invested back then,.... being in the High Threat Security Industry we get to see a few sides of things that most refuse to believe even exists. The Middle East is currently reshaping itself into something that will leave our children with a battle for the ages. Look at the map around Iraq , it is not pretty what is happening, and the reshaping that is taking place will only end when strict Theocratic rule is in place,... Democracy is NOT going to be the end result for any of the countries surrounding Iraq and to believe that Iraq can withstand the pressure would be a stretch (or, require a Willful suspension of disbelief), already Iran is openly funding startups in the rural areas of Iraq for any willing to open a business,... Is Maliki living with a foot in both worlds? Probably! Iran has been holding up progress in Iraq since 2003 and will continue to do all it can to achieve its ends. The answer to the question that we are all asking is, will the Dhimmists at the UN allow Iran to fulfill its desire and delay the RV long enough so that the new Islamic World will have a ready made ATM? If things do not break in our favor very very soon, there will in all probablility be no hope for our Dinar to ever be cashed in. Like it or not, evil exists,.... and any person, group or Ideology that would put me and my children on our knees under threat of beheading is evil. For all of the Bashers out there, I have been in and out of the Middle East since 82 and count many friends to be Arab, Samarian, Kurdish, Sunni, Shia and Persian. Forgot to add,.. Most of us in this Country still believe that we must raise our children to internally reconcile their self worth based around Judeo-Christian ethics and values. While a minority in this country insists that we must tolerate them in their quest for external verification of not only their self worth, but also the Country itself. Value producers are under siege by those hell-bent on usurping, confiscating and/or the outright destruction of that value. The last just master you were ever going to have was your parents!

For what it's worth,.... What Mr. Perkins failed to address in his book, and what he refuses to answer is.....Just how do you value a Countries assets and worth so that Capitalism and Free Markets can be planted to grow! Was there corruption in the process? Would bet on it! Man is an imperfect creature. What was the percentage of corruption and can it be addressed retro-actively to counter it?,... That is where we should be looking, to indite a whole system, or toss out the whole system for an as yet unknown percentage would be a bit crazy. ......just my thoughts.

I fully understand what your saying, and far be it for me to defend,.. but I feel he may have some good intel here, only for the reason that in October 2005 we thought we were days away, (perhaps prayed we were days away),... There was much chatter and ALOT of inside intel (from the security contractor side of things), that the RV would go along ways to stabilizing the insurgency, and that with the Mid-term elections sure to go to the Dems, there was a huge push to get it out and allow the Forex markets to adjust true value,... we were sure that the price at that time was .27 cents per dinar. At the rate of 27 cents, the printed lower denominations would have been sufficient,.... So, nothing happened, and with head bowed, shoulders rolled forward and knuckles facing together we put our Dinar away and waited. My thoughts are that this is good news, if larger quantities of the small bills and coins are needed,... We may very well be in a position to see this pop higher than a dollar!!! So, we wait!!!!

Not really a simple question to understand, but let me try to answer without the swapping back to USD aspect. If an Iraqi was to buy a couch today at a cost of $100.00 (116,500.00 IQD) and tomorrow the RD?RI?RV Pops at 1 USD to 1 IQD, then the Iraqi could have paid only 100 IQD for the couch and banked the 116,400.00 dinars. If the folks in Irq know what is heading their way, they very well should be sitting on their cash and not making these types of purchases (cars, computers, etc) which, at this point would be putting immense pressure on the MOF and CBI. We should be hearing rumbles from the pressure of the anticipation, yet scanning the articles there is not much, if any, news bringing this to light. If I missed the whole point of your question, sorry, but this has been something we have been looking for for months as a key indicator.

What these Sheeple do not get is that there is no such thing as a "Just Master", and in their Utopia someone has to be in control or charge. They will/have resented their parents and the values that they lived by, for an ill defined concept where no one works and everyone is "Rich" and "Taken Good Care of". Socialists/Communists/Dhimmi's are all a bunch of Oxygen thief's! Their desire for armed conflict should be headed, but I would caution them to be very aware that their opponents are not just defending humanity from a thousand years of darkness... They are defending their families and all the dreams they have for their children... and are therefore already feeling backed into a corner at this point. Being that there seem to be so many new IQD investors with us, I thought I would re-post this summary of why/where I feel this ride is heading. I fully understand that there has been a lot of news since this was originally posted but I am confident that many will understand why there remains such a high level of confidence in this investment. (as an addition, the range of RV that was discussed at that time was a low of .20 and a high of 1.20) Here is the Key issue at hand IMHO, if Iraq comes out Monday with estimates that elevate their estimated Oil reserves from 4th in the World up to Saudi levels, (or greater), then the average Iraqi citizen is going to receive a government stipend exceeding SIX figures in USD. Although Iraq has a long road to develop their infrastructure, what they do not have is very important,.... They DO NOT HAVE a upper echelon of Royal Family to support!! (Anyone familiar with the Middle East understands how much this siphons from budgets). Iraq has been designed to be as free and open as we could ever hope for; utilizing Western style accounting, trades, and practices. (Imagine the audacity of placing a Democracy in the midst of Theocratic Rule). Iraq has other National Assets as well: Fresh water In Kurdistan, Lush Farmland between the Tigris and Euphrates and a lot of Natural Gas, and a Higher Level Education System! Regulations and restrictions that are/have been created by our government to limit and punish domestic production are the cause of the flight by businesses to offshore locations,... in order to compete Globally in emerging markets. Environmental regulations, Labor Requirements, and Litigious pressure created the perfect storm for us to be sold on the value of a "Service Based" economy. (which we are programed to believe) means that we can create National Wealth by mowing each others lawns and making each others beds. Let us all know how the "trickle up poverty" works for you and yours in the future years! Word of Advice,.... If this RV does not work out, and America implodes,.. find a conservative that has prepared for the event and stick close to him/her, you may gain a few months more toward a better understanding of Natures Law vs. Mans Law.
