  6. The question about that converter came up months ago, don't know why it says what it does, but the "fast converter" has been like that for a long time. If you use their "all currencies" converter below that, it is accurate.
  7. Hi Chief V, do you know which denominations he was able to get and/or saw?
  8. the "All News & Announcements" link on the CBI website has changed, and there is 2 old news articles in there from archives. Just thought it was interesting that they did it on a saturday? Maybe a test for some other announcement?
  9. what article? Did it have anything to do with this posting? the denom's are different than the original post. What about the 250's ?
  10. The only issue will be their cost basis for capital gains, I am guessing it will be the same as what you paid, they might need that info, or it would be zero?

  13. speak for yourself, Saturday is still the Sabbath, and we have church on Sunday because that was the day of the ressurection. All this we hold Holy & dearly in America As a follower of Jesus Christ, we live everyday unto the Lord.
  14. Normally 7-11 stores have free slurpees on July 11, but it's just a small sample cup and you can only have 1..............per store.

  16. there never has been an auction on Saturday. Is that a strange way to say that our RV is on Sunday or Monday???
  17. It would show tomorrow, Sunday. Their weekend is fri/sat
  18. As far as taxes go, "pay to Ceasar, what is Ceasar's" The 3 zero notes removed could be 25k, 10k, 5k & 1k notes. There has never been a 25k Iraq dinar note before, so with certainty I can say that the 25k notes will be removed from circulation. I have always wondered how many of these 25k notes were ever printed, so far no one has been able to tell me. During the Saddam era there was a 10k note but it is my understanding that they were mainly used in bank transfers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_dinar shows current and previous notes. The next largest Saddam era note was the 250. After a RV at 1:1 with USD would there be a need for any notes larger than the 500 dinar? Probably not, but there is still a chance that some of the smaller 3 zero notes might stay in use? The 1k notes have a better chance of remaining than a 5k or 10 k but who knows? As far as which notes to get, the 25k notes are are more affordable, with any 3 zero note we will hope we can exchange within a cancellation exchange window if imposed. If you wanted to hold cash IQD beyond a RV, it would probably be wise to have 500's or smaller at some point.
  19. It is my understanding that the CBI sells foreign currency at their foreign currency auctions, not IQD.
  20. I think the "put back into the market" is a reference to the revaluation.
