I am no genius. I have just one little, curious question: If we hold minimally 1.5 Trillion IQD and other countries hold very large amopunts, if RV's at even 1 for 1, how will Iraq pay for it immediately? And, it is just me so, I can speculate. I have a hunch the Iraq has been burning up the printing presses so, there is probably (just a guess) a lot more IQD than what we suspect. As much as I hate to admit it, "lopping" might not be that bad of an idea. Certinally, I do not want a lop as no one else. If it does (oh gosh, am I going to say it again) LOP then RV at say $3.50, gee, I will h ave trippled my investment and folks, that ain't bad!!!! That's my story and, I'm stickin to it!!!!

Ya know folks, I was just wondering, after reading through all of the posts today, if our (USA) politicians arn't the ones holding this thing up. Don't you think it would be to their political advantage to allow an RV sometime in early October. This would give the dem's enough time to "polish their crown" if, ya get my drift. Or, would it not be to their financial advantage to allow this to RV after January 1, 2011 when all of the new taxes take effect. Hummmmmm!!!! Just some thought from Captain Terry.

I've said it before, I'll say it now and, will continue to say it. We ain't gitten any RV til a government is seated and "settles down!!!" Now, it just does not matter if US does it, UN does it or, Iraq does it, they must have a viable government that has been seated for a little while, before anything happens. If this is true and, I am sure it is, would this not be a very good reason not to RV until after the first of the year????? Just a curious question.

Med -- you have read my diatribes in the past and obviously, you and I think a lot alike. We are not prestidigators (I kinda like that word). Also, I do not read near as much as you. Having said that, and after going through several other sites, you are a breath of HONEST fresh air. I am sooooo tired of all of the incredible, inaccurite, self-serving predictions. My hunch is (and it is just a hunch) that we will not see an RV until a final, permanent government is seated and then, they will need some time to settle down say, August to October. Where is my "Kool-aide" when I need it?????? As much as I would like to believe this, my hunch is that there is not going to be an RV/RI until a government has been seated for some time. I was reading the other day about our national economic situation and it came to me that the new capital gains tax will take effect on January 1st 2011. There have been many discussions as to wheather we will pay a capital gains tax or not. The bottom line here is that our government needs the money so, my hunch is that we will pay the tax. Now, if that is the case, the new CG tax will be 36% vs. the now 15% both being long term. So, what makes us think that the US government is not allowing Iraq to procrastinate until after the first of the year. Now, I've been in this a very long time and I have watched all of the gurus predict and predict. It has been fun as no matter what, none of us are gonna lose any money. However, it matters to me that I might pay taxes next year that I would not have to pay this year. But, what the heck. One pays taxes on profit. So, if after all of this time, I break even, that's cool. I could have invested in the stock market and lost a bunch. This investment has always been a gamble to me and I know that eventually, we will see an RV. I would like to see it this year, not next year. That is my story and, I'm stickin to it!!!! Who has the Koolaide 55 gallon drum??? And, who is gonna start passing the stuff out??? Ya know, in the past I have noticed that almost every Wednesday or Thursday, somebody comes out with "My intel says it's gonna be tomorrow or this weekend or within the next several days!!!" I think I'll write a kids fairy tale and start it "Once upon a time, in a land far, far away (Iraq)....." Frankly, I do not see any place that Captain "JACK" has made any accusations. What I do see is that his comments were ment as observations. mrrf - I gotta agree with you!!!! I will not believe anything until it is announced on the news. Now, of course, that does not mean that Med is wrong or right. I have a hunch, after being here as long as I have, he believes what he is telling us. WE all have a belief system and that is O.K. It is up to us as to wheather we want to believe him or not.
