Iraqi annual inflation index rose by 5%

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Statistics Department at the Ministry of Planning disclosed today that annual inflation index rose by 5% for the period November 2010 till November 2011, pointing that the monthly inflation was increased by 0.1%.

The report, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, concentrated on the commodities and services for consumption, taking samples from different provinces, based on 2007 prices.

The commodities concentrated on foodstuffs, beverages, clothes, shoes, housing, fuels (benzene, gasoline), household appliances, health materials, transportation, communications, culture, education, restaurants and diversified services.

So if it rose by 5% and it was at 7% that would make it 12% now. Weren't we told they would not let it rise over 10% or am I remembering incorrectly? <_<
