Once a SeaBee always a SeaBee. I enjoyed all my deployments and duty stations.

+ 1 for you on starting this thread. :DB)

My favorite place for deployment while in the Bee's was Subic Bay in the PHillipines. I'm sure I don't have to tell you what Olongapo was like.

I did it bass ackwards.

Air Force first, then went to the Army.

2 complete basic trainings as well.

Prior service didn't let me escape that.

That's cuz ya did the Air Force first! Too wimpy for the Army's tastes... LOL!! Now they got the "time out" card cuz "He's yelling at me and I can't handle it!!"

With Veterans Day just a couple of days away on November 11, I felt it appropriate to find out what the makeup of the DV.com group is. I have been on here for over two years and get a good sense of the Vet & Current Military and also the civilian sector. We owe our Veterans from WWII to the Viet Nam Era a big , big thank you. If things had been slightly different during WWII, one could only imagine what the world would be like today.

From the first Gulf War to the current War on Terror, The United States had to put on a completely different pair of gloves, however with the troops leaving Iraq now, the current group of Vets have had to pay dearly for their injuries and PSTD. Also, the number of deaths between Iraq and Afghanastan seem quiet high given the high tech war machine our military has at its disposal.

So with all the actions our Vets and current military have had to deal with in Iraq and Afghanistan, we at DV.com owe then a big Thank You. They have brought us to the edge of fruition.. Sometimes I think some of us tend to forget how we have gottten to this point after 7 years of fighting in Iraq. Terrorism is held back a little bit more because of our Vets and current military, anything else after that is a big plus.

Thank you to all of our Vets.

Please take the survey at the top of this posting and let everyone else know how you have shaped your part of America. You can even let everyone else know what unit you are or was in. If you was or are a civilian, don't worry, because not everyone could serve in the military.

Amen SeaBee. Thanks to all who have and currently serve and sacrifice.

With today being Veterans Day, it takes a special meaning today as we are finnaly pulling the very last of our troops out Iraq. It has been a long seven years of blood sweat and tears.Whatever differences we have with the "Powers That Be:", let;s all take a moment out of our day today and pay respect. to all of our Vets from all wars The backbone of this great nation is madeup from those that sacraficed and of those that are still with us today. We shall keep this country in check reguardless of how the polliticians screw it up.

Let us also not forget about the Disabled Vet that came home to still having to fight the many challenges that lay ahead of them. Challenges such as aclamation back into family life, trying to obtain benifits for current and future injuries. Incase some of you that don;t know, it may take roughly one to three years and sometimes longer to get a favorable result from the Veterans Administration for an injury that happened as a result of our time in the service.

Also, it was said recently that the unenployment rate of all Vets is in the area of 15%. If your an employer that is reading this, please do what you can to hire that Vet and make him or her feel good about themselves as they try to fit back into society.

Again, take a momment out of your day today and pay respect to our Vets. They could be a family member or a friend..

Happy Veterans Day.
