I do something like that. I interupt them to tell them to come over and bring me a beer.. I can't leave the house 'cause of this ankle bracelet they have on me. And they won't let me get any beer.. So, bring me a beer and we'll talk about anything you want to talk about when you get here. Any beer will do..

I thought my solution was funny but it pales greatly in the face of this one. Of course, with my solution you don't have to be as good of an actor. Just loud and thirsty. I may try that one after I practice the lines a bit!!

Tom Mabe is hysterical, but my own favorite is to have an air horn ready, and blast them with it, and then ask if they heard that. I have yet to have a response
