  1. No socialism, no Marxism, no communism, no Obamaism in my USA either. I'm standing with you marine. You may be elderly, but you're not old. Marines will never be old in the USA. Forever young, semper fi. We are free because of marines like you, sir. Thank you for your service to our country, USAok.
  2. Oustanding video Jazzman. Thanks for sharing. The historical perspective was very moving and well worth watching. I hope more DV members get a chance to check it out as it will have a lasting influence on how they hear Amazing Grace in the future.
  3. #10 - You can trade an old 44 for a new 22. #9 - You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road. #8 - If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times. #7 - Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup. #6 - Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo. #5 - A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space. #4 - Guns function normally every day of the month. #3 - A gun doesn't ask, "Do these new grips make me look fat?" #2 - A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it. And the Number One reason Why Men Prefer Guns over Women..... #1 - You can buy a silencer for a gun!

    Logic 101

That's hilarious! You're also correct in your logic.
  5. I think atheists and nonbelievers feel more threatened by Christianity than any other religion because most of the other religions claim that all roads lead to God or what really counts is one's sincere attempt to do good. However, Jesus said the path that leads to eternal life is narrow and it is only accessed through Him. I think that exclusivity is what nonbelievers don't like. However, Jesus also said that His invitation is open to all or whomever. So Jesus does not exclude anyone from the invitation. He freely gives the gift of eternal life to anyone who asks, the problem is people refuse to believe it is that simple and think they must do something grand to be worthy. As humans we need to discard our pride and humble ourselves enough to recognize that we are lost without Jesus and only through Him can we have eternal life. As we enter the Christmas season, I pray that all members of DV will give thanks that God cares so much about us that He gave us His Son so we could be restored to Him forever. 14mil - I just gave you a +1 to counter the -1 someone gave you. I don't believe anyone should get a neg just because their viewpoint differs. Negs should be reserved for those with hateful speech or those that are obviously stirring up the hornet's nest. A mutually respectful exchange of ideas is beneficial to both parties in that enlightenment and understanding can be obtained. BTW, I disagree with your post since there is evidence that members of ALL groups (nonbelievers, Buddhists, etc... including Christians) have committed crimes. We are all human and as such we are all sinners. That is why we need a savior and that Savior is Jesus.
  6. Good video and excellent song! I remember seeing Alvin Lee play that song on his red Gibson when I was in high school. If memory serves, his guitar had a peace sign on it. He made a comeback of sorts as Ten Years Later. He was a phenom on the guitar that began his professional career at 13 years of age! Thanks for posting.
  7. As a conservative independent who has attended weekly services in a Baptist church for over 20 years, I would vote for Romney over The O in a heartbeat. Conservatives don't care for Romney becuase he is a RINO. He was the governor of a blue state (Massachusetts) and as such, he has democrat tendencies. He also has Romneycare hanging around his neck. Romney in 2012 will be the equivalent to McCain in 2008: milktoast! At a time when our nation is in such dire economic straits, we don't need a milktoast president. We need a man with the guts to stand up to Congress and to turn this nation around. Romney's religion has nothing to do with why people say they won't vote for him. We don't want him as our first choice because he is the most liberal of all the GOP candidates.
  8. I'm still ticked off about his apologies. I'm also ticked that he would bow to certain world leaders, especially the Saudi king. American presidents prior to him have never bowed; they always stand, look at the eyes and give a firm handshake. Bowing is a sign of submission; standing and looking at someone is a sign of mutual respect. The US respects; we do not submit.
  9. It might be a good move to counter China's growing presence in that part of the globe. However, some have speculated he is wanting to have another base where he can play golf. It could also be that The O wants to be closer to Mecca.
  10. How timely are these remarks from Ben Stein as we enter the Christmas season! Mr. Stein is right: We told God to get out of our schools and government and He's granted the wishes of the minority. Now our country has youth that do not value life and do not respect their fellow man. How much further into depravity will our nation fall before we reach the point of no return? The first time that happened in world history, God purged the Earth with water. The second and final time that happens, it will be with fire. How far are we before God hits the ignition switch? "... the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." 2 Peter 3:6-7
  11. Excellent link! There's all sorts of information in there. Thanks for posting this DM. I'm very surprised that the sheriffs in the article are from California and Oregon. Maybe Arizona's Joe Arpaio has woken up his collegues. We can only hope that a nationwide awakening occurs. It's time to stop the out-of-control fed. What are TSA agents doing on highways in TN? Someone needs to wake up the sheriffs in those counties so they stop the TSA's power grab.
  12. Great thesis Heavyduty. I'm with you on this. I think God did not place us in Heaven because he does not want robots. He gives us the free will of choice as you mentioned. If we choose to love God in this world, when He establishes His new kingdom, those that are present in it will be there because He gave us the choice. Of course predestination has a role because none would come to God unless He draws us to him, but we still have the free choice to reject His call. Thankfully, Jesus paid the price for our sins and He conquered death. You well stated, "He died for you, will you not live for Him?"
  13. Penalty for saluting the troops?!! I don't get it. As the article explains, the penalty occurred when he got on one knee. Is that an NFL policy to prevent players from bending a knee in prayer? By saluting, he was clearly honoring the troops. Am I missing something? Shortly after Veterans Day, Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker paid tribute to America's service men and woman after scoring a touchdown in Denver's win over Kansas City on Sunday. Unfortunately for him, it cost his team. After pulling in a 56-yard touchdown reception, Decker got on one knee and performed a salute to the troops. He was subsequently flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. It turns out that by getting on one knee, Decker violated the NFL's excessive celebration policy which dictates players cannot go to the ground while celebrating. Legal in the NFL: Scoring a touchdown and then running 100 yards down the sideline to give the ball to your girlfriend who's a cheerleader for the opposing team. Not legal in the NFL: Scoring a touchdown and saluting the troops on Veterans Day weekend. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/15/eric-decker-flagged-salute-troops-touchdown-broncos_n_1093694.html?ref=sports&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl12%7Csec3_lnk1%7C112605
  14. Adam, Is there anything being overlooked concerning the RV? Are any foreign governments (US, China, Kuwait), global agencies (UN, IMF) or behind the scene players like the Rothschilds, Bilderberg Group, Soros, etc… preventing the RV from occurring?
  15. You’re making a lot of generalizations about Christians, Bubbe. Are you referring to Roman Catholics or evangelical Christians? Your mention of the church and pedophilia has me thinking about the Roman Catholic Church and its leadership that covered up or allowed many perverted priests to do the unthinkable with children. However, not all priests acted in that manner and it would be wrong of us to accuse them of that. Furthermore, the RC Church has also been a big proponent of the pro-life movement and traditional marriage, both solid family values. While some pastors in the Evangelical Church have been caught in adultery (and probably pedophilia as well in some cases), it would be wrong to bring your accusations against the Church as a whole. Similarly, some Jewish Rabbis have been caught in pedophilia (one site lists 87 of them: http://groups.google.com/group/nyc.general/msg/47836435a6b55c60? ), but it would be wrong to accuse all of the same crimes. Additionally, some Jews are big players in Hollywood, which is guilty of “destroying family values and re-writing history.” Furthermore, as a voting block, Jews have traditionally voted for Democrats, which are pro-abortion. Are they guilty of Greek-Roman corruption? The common factor in RC churches, the evangelical churches and synagogues is that they are all filled with humans. And as humans, we are all guilty of sins. We aren’t guilty of the same sins, but the sins we each have keep us separated from God, because He is holy. He cannot look upon corruption. If you consider the evangelical preacher Billy Graham and the deceased Roman Catholic nun Mother Theresa, we may hold them in high esteem for their exemplary lives, but God looks upon their most righteous acts as if they were filthy rags. “But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags…” (Isaiah 64:6) Imagine that, filthy rags! Them?!! Who would have associated them with filthy rags? You mentioned King David. Not only did he not try to kill Absolom, he never tried to kill King Saul, despite David having been anointed king by Samuel. God even called David “a man after My own heart.” (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:21) And yet what is David also guilty of? Adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband Uriah! David was human. We are human. David sinned. We sin. We are separated from God because of that sin. And that is why He sent His Son, Jesus: to make permanent payment for our sins so that we would not be separated from God. The blood sacrifices in the Temple that were performed 2,000 years ago simply covered sins and had to be repeated annually. Jesus, however, ended that practice by sacrificing Himself. As He said on the cross, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) Final thought: Jesus was a Jew. He was highly regarded as a rabbi. He was the Christ, from which Christians get their name. Was Jesus guilty of spreading Greek-Roman corruption and the loss of family values? Of course not! However, humans who claim to be Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and other religions unfortunately bring shame upon their religion because of their giving in to temptation and sinning against God and their fellow man. The only generalization we can safely make is that humans sin and will continue to sin until God destroys entropy and establishes perfect order in His new kingdom. Only then will we cease entirely from sin and only then will we cease to disappoint our fellow man.
  16. You're right on the money, Anti. I hope you're wrong about the civil war, but it is always a possibility. As far as sushi is concerned: Where I grew up, we called raw seafood "bait".
  17. If the RV happens soon, the current global financial meltdown can be avoided. Shabibi needs to be informed of this matter.
  18. I'm curious if there are any travel agents among DV who could put together a post-RV ski package? It would be a blast to hit the slopes together with our new equipment, sunscreen and sunglasses!
  19. A moving video: "Medal of Honor: Portraits of Valor" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/11/medal-of-honor-portraits-heroes_n_1087918.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3%7C111729
  20. On this Veterans Day, November 11, 2011, I am very grateful to our military men and women for their service to our country. Within the Dinar Vets community there are many veterans who deserve our gratitude and applause. The United States of America has become the nation it is because of our veterans. May God bless each and every one of you! Below is a YouTube tribute. Below the link are excerpts from a speech that was made by President Ronald Reagan at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Veterans Day, November 11, 1988. “Well, today, Veterans Day, as we do every year, we take that moment to embrace the gentle heroes of Vietnam and of all our wars. We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause.” "Our young friends -- yes, young friends, for in our hearts you will always be young, full of the love that is youth, love of life, love of joy, love of country -- you fought for your country and for its safety and for the freedom of others with strength and courage. We love you for it. We honor you. And we have faith that, as He does all His sacred children, the Lord will bless you and keep you, the Lord will make His face to shine upon you and give you peace, now and forever more." http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/ronaldreaganvietnammemorial.html
  21. Good stuff Heavy. You're right on the mark! We exist for His glory, not the other way around. No one is left unchanged when God enters their lives. Knowing the spiritual realm and most-importantly having a personal relationship with Our Savior Jesus is far more important than anything on this planet. "...lay up for yourselves treasure in Heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:20-21)
  22. What an incredible history! A B-17 bomber in a 45 minute dogfight with 17 Jap fighter planes. Despite the flying fortress having 19 machine guns, it withstood 187 bullets and 5 cannon shells. How it kept flying without rudder controls and hydraulics is just amazing. The best part about it is that they landed safely and were able to complete the mapping mission. I can see why they were the most highly decorated air mission in WWII. It’s a prime example of Brokaw’s “America’s Greatest Generation.” Thanks for sharing this DM. All Americans would benefit from watching this. It shows the sacrifices our military make for our freedom. God bless our military men and women!
  23. The statements by Mr. Black are frightening. If that is where we are headed, I'm out of here! We can only hope the RV happens and it resets the world economies back to a more manageable load. I meant illegals that work here and wire funds back home to their families in Mexico and other countries.
