A few days ago the law that governs the line of success to British Monarchy was changed, allowing the first born girl to become the Monarch. According to this article, if Queen Victoria had been able to pass her crown to her firstborn, Britain's Princess Victoria, who had but a brief reign before her death in 1901, that would have made her son — Wilhelm II, who at that time was the German Kaiser — king.

With Wilhelm II ruling both Germany and Britain, there may not have been two world wars.

Missed it by that much! :(

I read an interesting story the other day that claimed their were a lot of women converting to Islam. It seems that these women tended to prefer that men held more control over their lives. They said that they felt more secure. Now...that is sad...A femine movement seemingly designed to create independance for all women has resulted in causing many to abandon that liberty

I looked but cant find that article.. but there are several if you google western women converting to islam for security

here is one

Ummm... with all due respect to all previous posts... I believe you've misunderstood the point of the original post. It had nothing to do with women's lib... but simply the new British law of Monarchy succession...

So, yes, in hindsight... had the law been in place at the turn of the last century... the dynamics of both World Wars could very well have been different. We will of course we will never know... but it certainly makes for a good History Channel program! I enjoyed the article posted, as I have an affinity for history... real history, not that of the revisionist type. But, it's always good to surmise the "what ifs"... :)
