Francie26
Just got this from my brother-in-law today. Here’s what happens when we (they) elect a president who never held a “real” job. Never ran a Koolaid stand. Never had a paper route. Never mowed a lawn. .. . Hell, there are so many gaping holes in his personal history, who could ever venture a guess as to what he’s done--or not done-- in his lifetime. My God, who publishes an autobiography at age 40??!!!! What in God’s name have we (they) done??? There are actually two messages here. The 1st is very interesting, but the 2nd is absolutely astounding - and explains a lot. First: A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization. Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis: U.S. 65% England 46% Canada 42% Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months: U.S. 93% England 15% Canada 43% Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months: U.S. 90% England 15% Canada 43% Percentage referred to a medical specialist...who see one within one month: U.S. 77% England 40% Canada 43% Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people: U.S. 71 England 14 Canada 18 Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in"excellent health": U.S. 12% England 2% Canada 6% Check this last set of statistics!! The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet. T. Roosevelt.......38% Taft........................40% Wilson .................52% Harding................49% Coolidge..............48% Hoover .................42% F. Roosevelt.........50% Truman.................30% Eisenhower..........57% Kennedy................30% Johnson................47% Nixon......................53% Ford....................... 42% Carter.....................32% Reagan..................56% GH Bush................51% Clinton .................39% GW Bush...............55% And the winner is: Obama............... 8% This helps to explain the incompetence of this administration: only 8% of them have ever worked in private business! That's right! Only eight percent---the least, by far, of the last 19 presidents! And these people are trying to tell our big corporations how to run their business? They know what's best for GM, Chrysler, Wall Street, and you and me? How can the president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk with a straight face about business when he's never worked for one? Or about jobs when he has never had one? And when it's the same for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers? They've spent most of their time in academia, government and/or non-profit jobs, or as "community organizers." They should have been in an employment line. So, do you now think we need a change? I'll bet I know what your answer will be. "One of the penalties of not participating in politics is that you will be governed by your inferiors." mojack
Just got this from my brother-in-law today. From another site: It is those who have never experienced medicine outside this country who speak. I for one have benefited from Socialized medicine, my brother now lives in Spain and does not pay one cents for his medical, tests & medication are free. The great thing about socialized medicine is that the price of meds is regulated by the Government, you would never ever pay $ 117.00 for kid's ear drops and that is with insurance here ! The excuse is that the cost covers research, well then why are the Europeans able to find new cures w/o passing the buck onto their citizens ? The US system is broken and needs fixing. Just got this from my brother-in-law today. A link clarifying some of the polling numbers... My link #1 Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis: U.S. 65% England 46% Canada 42% We begin our journey into the world of unverified cancer statistics with the claim that the US has higher cancer survival rates 5 years after diagnosis which is a wonderful set of numbers. However, there are no sources (providing evidence for ones claims is quite annoying, right?) and what these numbers fail to consider are important issues such as the percentage of the population who receive an accurate received diagnosis, whether 5 years after diagnosis the patient was living cancer free or still subject to chemo-therapy treatment or the total number of incidents. Wouldn’t a reasonable person much rather live in England or Canada if the incidence incidences of cancer in these countries were one tenth of what they are in the USA? But, as promised, let’s get some hard verified numbers in here. First, some statistics from the United Kingdom, aka England. Source: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/pdfdir/can0410.pdf (notice the “.GOV” in the URL, that **** is official!!!) Jmcc
Where we have lost it, is not teaching the kids coming out of school is that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody has to pay for it. Same goes for all the government spending. Somebody is going to pay. He is an expert speaker and can change gears on the fly. Not one person has ever asked him why we need to spend so much. Either party. Go figure. 2
