blonde_minx
7/9/2011 2:54 PM BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Legislature of the National Alliance, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Wednesday that today’s meeting, held by the initiative of President Jalal Talabani, might end up with a final settlement of the current political crisis, calling on all parties to commit themselves towards the Arbil Agreement. “The meeting of the Leaders of Political Forces at the residence of President Jalal Talabani, attended by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the Leader of al-Iraqiya bloc, Iyad Allawi, might end with a final settlement of the current political crisis,” Khalid al-Assadi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. With regards to the possibility of an agreement in the meeting towards the Arbil Agreement, regarding the National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP), Assadi said, “The National Coalition looks at Arbil Agreement with respect and we concentrate on necessity of commitment by all parties towards the Agreement and resentment to add any other demands on it.” The Leaders of the Iraqi Political Blocs have met at the residence of Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani, to discuss the suspended dossiers and current differences between the State of Law Coalition, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and al-Iraqiya Coalition, led by Iyad Allawi, along with the issue of trimming down the current Cabinet and the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. http://en.aswataliraq.info/Default1.aspx?page=article_page&id=143658&l=
DinarBam
Don't you wish they'd do something. But why should they be any quicker than we are...look at the ongoing debt crisis debate; an absolute emergency with no end in sight.

Francie26
Good point. I couldn't agree more. Ole' Maliki has held the world by the tail and enjoyed the power of being able to hold everything up. The US won't have to raise the debt ceiling if Maliki stops posturing and gets something done. If I understand right, we'll be able to pay our debts after the RV. (Just like me--I can also pay off my debts after the RV). lol Besides, didn't Biden go over there the other day to give Maliki a swift kick in the pants? The US isn't going to wait around much longer. Obama has some pretty bad financial poll numbers right now, so he would love to take credit for a financial solution, and this one is just sitting there waiting for us--except for that pesky Maliki. So I'd say Maliki's recent behavior is on limited time.

Go to the news section and read the past articles and see for yourself. just sayin
