mordiaky
Link Arizona passes law allowing guns on campuses. Posted by Tactical-Life.com. Author Archive » The Arizona House on Thursday approved a landmark bill allowing guns on campuses, making it only the second state in the nation to allow firearms to be carried at colleges and universities. The Republican-led House voted 33 to 24 to allow firearms to be carried in the open or concealed in public rights of way, such as campus streets and roadways. “We’re allowing people to defend themselves,” said Rep. David Gowan Sr., a Republican, who voted for the bill. “The purpose of carrying a gun with you is to defend yourself against that aggressor,” he added. The measure now goes to Arizona’s Republican Governor Jan Brewer. She has not said if she will sign it into law but has been a strong gun-rights advocate in the past. If the measure is enacted, Arizona would join Utah as the only states to specifically allow such gun rights. Utah goes one step further, allowing firearms inside campus buildings. The move comes as opponents and supporters face off across the country over gun laws, with nine states this year seeking to broaden citizens’ rights to tote firearms on campuses. mordiaky
Is this a good idea? Teacher gives an F and the student goes "all student <postal> on the campus" Just saying... then the teacher pulls their gun out and say's "Sit you arse back down!" yeah it can work, heck they allowed Utah to do it first and it works there 1

mordiaky
I live in Arizona, and its nice to walk into a bank, store, or where ever you please with a side arm to your side. still not aloud in bars or casinos though. and some places that have it posted no firearms aloud will get my respect (so I use the new, concealed weapons aloud with out permit) and then I am ok
Kandi77
Is this a good idea? Teacher gives an F and the student goes "all student <postal> on the campus" Just saying... The way I see it is the type of person that is going to pull a gun on a teacher for a bad grade isn't the type that is waiting for the law to say it's OK to carry on campus. BUT now "Greg" in the back of the class has a chance to save the teachers life by pulling his legally carried gun that he wouldn't have had if the law wasn't passed!!! JMHO And by the way, I LOVE Utah's gun laws!!!!!!!! Edited May 8, 2011 by Kandi77

Photochic
My poor state. =( Ayahuasca, are you a woman? If so, should you EVER find yourself in a possible rape or assault-situation, would you still feel that you shouldn't have a gun (should you choose not to have one) and God forbid, offend your assailant? That's just one of the many problems with our country today, GOD FORBID should we offend the criminals!

Just 1 can of Wasp or Hornet spray will shoot out to 20ft or more. If someone can't pull the "trigger"' they can push that spray button. It will work, won't kill, but will stop them!!! R2d2dc
I am torn on this subject. Yes, I live here in AZ and I would respectfully disagree with the Southern AZ vs. the "wack jobs" in Phoenix. We are like any other state, a mass of people that don't have to all agree at all times and to put everyone in a narrow basket of "conservatives" is part of the problem that I believe we face as a nation, let alone here in AZ. We have issues and we have "wack jobs" people that I are in positons to make decisions that make it difficult to figure out what the french toast is going on. I believe that we do not have to agreee all of the time, but to learn to listen to each other without anger might go a long way. Heck, we might learn a thing or two form each others differences. I'm not sure that having guns in the hands of the students at ASU, U of A or any other campus is the answer to many things but I suppose it is our right as Americans. With the shooting in Tucson of Gabriel Giffords by a young disturbed person, and to be fair he didn't have that gun leagally and probably wouldn't have, it makes me uneasy knowing that I could cut someone off accidentally and they could loose their temper and bam my mistake ends my life. It is just my fears that come out in these topics, I'm not saying that guns should not be carried, I don't know, but the innocent many times end up on the wrong end of these situations. No, I do not intend to carry a gun, it is not something I believe I could handle and have no intention of trying. I know my limitations and having said that fully expect that some would try to tell me why I am wrong. I would hope not but as I started out, people don't have much ability to understand others stance on issues. Oh well, JMO.
Dalite
Is this a good idea? Teacher gives an F and the student goes "all student <postal> on the campus" Just saying... "An armed society is a polite society" Once Johnny "F" realizes the entire Honor Society, Chess Club, Thesbians R Us, Home Economics Sewing Club, Underwater Basket Weaver's Club are all packing, he has the choice of studying harder or learning to restrain impulsive action. No time outs or do overs in a society based on responsibility.... No need to be Just Saying, start Just Doing....

I think there is a highly specialized term used to describe those that feel self protection is a flaw, not a trait. Victim OTHO, during a home invasion in East Houston in 2001, my cousin was stabbed 33 times in the head, then cut from ear to ear because she wasn't packing when she accosted the scumbag in a narrow hallway.. The perp was arrested, jailed, and lost enough IQ points prior to trial to avoid the death penalty. No more intentional victims in my family now. We all understand the ramifications..
