Finance minister heads to the United States to discuss extending the protection

of Iraqi funds

The Finance Minister Rafie Al-Issawi, to the United States of America at the

head of a government delegation, said a source in the Ministry of Finance that

al-eisawy will negotiate with the US side on the issue of the extension of the

protection of Iraqi funds in the United States of America as part of a package

of the mechanisms adopted by the Iraqi government to provide protection to

Iraqi funds abroad and the end of the protection of the تللك funds at the

beginning of June next

Mp was high for the Iraqi List Nassif revealed that the US side was on Iraq,

the draft convention should be under the settlement of claims the United States

against Iraq since 1991,

It said in a statement today that the Iraqi oil proceeds based in Fund for

International Development, which is to protect the US prosecution claims US and

Kuwaiti, Egyptian, Jordanian, and if such immunity lifted, it will lead to the

bankruptcy of Iraq for years to come.
