Warnings of ISIS Khorasan attacks targeting Europe

Warnings of ISIS Khorasan attacks targeting Europe

2024-03-25 // 04:26

Shafaq News / The American New York Times revealed on Monday that the recent attacks by ISIS Khorasan in Russia and Iran may encourage it to target European countries, citing warnings issued by security officials and specialists in the field of combating terrorism.

The newspaper reported that counter-terrorism specialists expressed concern that the attacks might encourage ISIS Khorasan to attempt "to target France, Belgium, Britain, and other countries that have been subjected to intermittent terrorist attacks over the past decade."

What is ISIS Khorasan?

ISIS-K, also known as ISIS-K, is a branch of the terrorist organization that first appeared in Syria and Iraq. While the affiliates share ideology and tactics, the depth of their relationship in terms of organization, command, and control has not been fully determined.

The organization's name, "Khorasan," comes after an old name for the region that includes Afghanistan and Pakistan.

ISIS appeared in the Khorasan region of Afghanistan, where it was founded in 2015 by former members of the Pakistani Taliban.

The organization established its presence on the international terrorism scene after the Taliban overthrew the Afghan government in 2021. Since then, the Taliban has been fighting ISIS Khorasan in Afghanistan.

A previous CNN report quoted US intelligence officials as saying that the ISIS Khorasan branch includes "a small number of former extremists from Syria and other foreign terrorist fighters."

The officials indicated that the United States "identified between 10 and 15 senior members of (ISIS Khorasan) in Afghanistan."

Officials warn

Speaking before a Senate committee this month, US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines said that “the threat posed by ISIS remains a major concern in the fight against terrorism.”

Last Thursday, the head of the US Army's Central Command, General Michael Corella, said before a House of Representatives committee that "ISIS Khorasan maintains the ability and will to attack American and Western interests abroad, in less than 6 months, without warning."

An increasing number of plots

The New York Times noted that there is "an increasing number of plots that the terrorist organization was working to implement in Europe, before they were thwarted during the recent period."

In July 2023, Germany and the Netherlands coordinated the arrests of seven Tajik, Turkmen, and Kyrgyz individuals linked to the ISIS-Khorasan network, who were suspected of planning attacks in Germany.

Three men were also arrested in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, due to plans to attack Cologne Cathedral on New Year's Eve 2023, in addition to raids that resulted in 3 other arrests in Austria, and one in Germany on December 24, 2023.

American and Western counterterrorism officials said that these plots were organized by “low-level agents who were discovered and thwarted relatively quickly.”

The head of the National Counterterrorism Center, Christine Abizaid, told a US House of Representatives committee last November: “Until now, ISIS Khorasan has relied primarily on inexperienced agents in Europe to attempt to carry out attacks in its name.”

However, there are disturbing signs that “ISIS Khorasan is learning from its mistakes,” according to the New York Times, as last January it attacked a Roman Catholic church in the Turkish city of Istanbul, killing one person.

Counter-terrorism officials considered that the Moscow and Iranian attacks “demonstrated greater sophistication,” indicating “a greater level of planning and the ability to benefit from local extremist networks.”

Sleeper cells in Europe

The newspaper quoted a United Nations report that said, “Some individuals from the North Caucasus and Central Asia who travel from Afghanistan or Ukraine towards Europe represent an opportunity for ISIS-K, which seeks to launch violent attacks in the West.”

The report concluded that there was “evidence of current and incomplete operational plots, on European soil, carried out by ISIS Khorasan.”

According to the New York Times, a senior Western intelligence official identified three main motives that could inspire ISIS Khorasan members to attack: “the presence of sleeper cells in Europe, images of the war in Gaza, and the support they receive from Russian speakers living in Europe.”

According to the newspaper, one of the most important major events this summer in France raises the concerns of many counter-terrorism officials. Edmund Fitton-Brown, a former counter-terrorism official at the United Nations who works as an advisor to the Countering Extremism Project, says: “I am concerned about the Olympic Games in Paris,” he said, noting that “it would be an excellent terrorist target.”

The American Ambassador to Baghdad: The defeat of ISIS in Iraq is not yet complete

The American Ambassador to Baghdad: The defeat of ISIS in Iraq is not yet complete

2024-03-24 // 09:21

Shafaq News / The US Ambassador to Iraq, Alena Romanowski, confirmed on Sunday that ISIS still poses a threat in Iraq and that the work of the US-led military coalition with Iraq to completely defeat the organization has not yet been completed.

Senior Iraqi politicians, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, have repeatedly said that the group no longer poses a threat in Iraq and there is no longer a need for the coalition, even as its followers continue to carry out attacks elsewhere.

Romanowski said in an interview published by Reuters: “We both appreciate that ISIS (Islamic State) is still a threat here, and it has diminished a lot, but nevertheless our work is not fundamentally done and we want to make sure that Iraqi forces can continue to permanently defeat ISIS.” .

The US ambassador's speech came after the ISIS branch in Afghanistan claimed responsibility for Friday's attack on a rock concert near Moscow, in which 137 people were killed.

“As this event reminds us, ISIS is a common terrorist enemy that must be defeated everywhere,” she said in additional comments after the interview.

“That is why the United States and Iraq share a commitment to ensuring the enduring defeat of ISIS, including by working together to shape the future of a strong bilateral security partnership between the United States and Iraq,” she added.

Last week, at least three people were killed in a suicide bombing carried out by the Islamic State in Afghanistan, and in January it claimed responsibility for a double suicide bombing in Iran, which shares a 1,600-kilometre border with Iraq.

ronscarpa - allegedly the attack on Russia now this is US driven:

https://substack.com/app-link/post?publication_id=706779&post_id=142943226&utm_source=post-email-title&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=1frx1e&token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjo4Njk2Mjk0NiwicG9zdF9pZCI6MTQyOTQzMjI2LCJpYXQiOjE3MTEzODE1MDcsImV4cCI6MTcxMzk3MzUwNywiaXNzIjoicHViLTcwNjc3OSIsInN1YiI6InBvc3QtcmVhY3Rpb24ifQ.vO1goIpqHwFDNkCMAtPfv-6Kv4l3TNuSNVYPa0UOghc

Al-Qaeda was created by Western intelligence to fight the Russians, and has been used as a catalyst for illegal wars and tyrannical laws ever since.

Mar 25

Over a hundred people were murdered in Russia on Friday. Including women and children. Eleven terrorists were captured by Russian authorities as they attempted to cross the border into Ukraine. They are being interrogated and all roads lead to the US State department, who have been directing Ukrainian forces since their 2014 coup.

The attack occurred on March 22nd, or 3/22. 322 is the mysterious number used by Yale’s infamous Skull and Bones society. The official story is that 322 symbolizes the year 322BC to memorialize the event seen as the turning point which transformed Athens from a democracy to a plutocracy. A plutocracy is a society that is ruled by no other political philosophy other than the financial elite being in control of the people’s destiny.

The Skull and Bones is a grooming academy for the CIA. Such as, former director of the CIA, George Bush. And 322 is there calling card.

During the Tucker Carlson interview, President Putin was clearly speaking to the CIA. The CIA responded in a New York Times Article admitting that they are using Ukraine as a proxy to wage war against Russia. Weeks before the attack, Victoria Nuland repeatedly boasted that Putin was in for a nasty surprise.

On March 7th, the US Embassy issued a warning about the threat of terrorist attacks in Moscow, specifying ‘concerts.’ The British Embassy in Moscow mirrored this warning.

Days before the attack, Barack Obama paid an unexpected visit to the British Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street.

Within hours of the attack and without any evidence, the US government blames the attack on the Islamic State and says that Ukraine is not involved.

The next day, while Russians were grieving, CIA mouthpiece, The Washington Post, gloated how the US had prior knowledge of the attack, and people still died.

It has been noted that the terrorists were either professional assassins or trained by Western forces. For they were demonstrating NATO training methods such as shooting in small bursts, trigger control, and proper mag reloads

For anyone with eyes to see, this is the Modus operandi of the West. Al-Qaeda was famously created by Western intelligence agencies to fight the Russians in Afghanistan, and has since been cultivated by the US government and used as a catalyst for illegal wars and tyrannical laws against US citizens

Ukraine spy chief said three months ago, expect more attacks deep inside of Russia.

Dmitry said that everyone is asking him what to do. He answered that, those who were caught need to be killed. But it’s much more important to kill everyone involved. Everyone who paid, who sympathized, and who helped. Kill them all.
