Norway fears a possible war with Russia

Shafaq News / Norwegian Defense Minister, Björn Arild Gramm, called on his country to increase military spending, fearing the risk of a possible war with Russia, within one to three years, and fearing a retaliatory Russian attack, in response to Finland and Sweden joining NATO.

 

The British newspaper The Telegraph quoted Gramm as saying: We need to prepare a strong national defense, in order to be able to face a mysterious and unpredictable world, adding: Moscow is working to increase its weapons stock at an accelerated pace, greater than what the allies in NATO expect.

 

Finland applied for NATO membership on May 18, 2022, that is, three months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and then the country officially joined this alliance at the end of the same year, while Sweden is still waiting to become a member as well.

 

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned of problems that might occur after Finland joined NATO, which shares more than 1,300 kilometers of land borders with Russia.

 

Russia launched a military operation against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in response to Ukraine’s application to join NATO, which Russia considers a threat to its internal security.

 

NATO has already violated it's agreements with Russia by moving weapon systems closer to Russia (started over a decade ago), and enticing neutral countries surrounding Russia to become a part of NATO. If you recall we sent Long Range missles to Ukraine, and we hasd to remove them when Russia challenged the move. Russia perceives NATO as a threat. Just look at what's happening in Ukraine..!
