Today, Sunday, economist Nabil Al-Ali revealed the volume and value of gold imported annually to Iraq, while noting that gold entering through the region is not subject to the conditions of the Federal Quality Control Authority.

Al-Ali said, during his hosting of the Eighth program with Ahmed Al-Tayeb and his follow-up, “ Jarida ”, that “60 tons of gold enter the country annually, at a value of 3 billion dollars,” noting that “the two most important sources of gold in Iraq are the Turkish and Emirati markets.”

He added, "The difficulty of the procedures in the federal outlets made merchants deal with the outlets of the region," noting that "gold entering through the region is not subject to the conditions of the federal quality control apparatus."

Al-Ali pointed out that "the federal government's controls apply to 10 percent of gold import operations," stressing that "re-export operations of gold from Iraq have been indicated in an abnormal way."
