Iraq is the second largest importer of citrus fruits in the world from Turkey

The head of the National Council of Citrus Producers in Turkey, Kemal Kashmaz, announced that Iraq ranked second among the countries in the world that import Turkish citrus fruits .

Kashmaz said, "The value of citrus exports in the first nine months of 2020 reached 374 million US dollars, up 13 percent compared to the same period last year ."

He added that "the volume of exports to European countries increased during the current year, indicating that Russia topped those countries by importing citrus fruits, followed by Iraq, Ukraine, Romania and Poland ."

Kashmaz praised the quality of citrus fruits exported from Turkey, and the countries' willingness to import them due to the contribution of citrus fruits to strengthening the human immune system .

It is noteworthy that despite the Ministry of Agriculture banning the import of 28 agricultural and animal materials, the markets are still full of agricultural products imported from neighboring countries .
