The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced the dismissal of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, a senior security official, in the capital, Baghdad, hours after the assassination of security expert Hisham al-Hashemi.

The Interior Ministry said, "The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazimi, orders the dismissal of the commander of the First Division of the Federal Police from his post," which is stationed in the capital, Baghdad. 

A security source told Shafaq News that the dismissal comes against the background of the assassination of security expert Hisham al-Hashemi today in the capital, Baghdad. 

He added that the commander of the First Division of the Federal Police is Brigadier General Mohammed Qasim, who is responsible for the entire Rusafa sector.

In a statement, Al-Kazemi vowed to prosecute those involved in the assassination of Al-Hashemi, describing them as "a group outside the law."

An armed group riding in two motorcycles opened fire on Al-Hashemi earlier Monday, in front of his house in the Zayouna area, east of Baghdad, killing him.

Hisham al-Hashemi, 47, is an expert on armed groups, and is a writer with numerous strategic studies.

I think so. The new PM is about to crack down on all the Militias running

around Iraq with their own agenda. Some like the Popular Mobilization are

backed by Iran and he is sick of this and wants all armed groups under gov.control.

Karim al-Karawi, an analyst and researcher on Iraqi affairs, believes that the deep state in Iraq is extending its octopus arms to assassinate the truth and break honorable pens.

Al-Karawi said in a tweet on "Twitter" that "all parties and organizations, and perhaps even ISIS, would be absolved of the assassination of al-Hashemi and denounced and protested, believing that the clamor obscures the voice of truth."

He added, "We know that everyone will march at his funeral, a custom that has become recognized in a country run by a deep state, whose octopus arms extend easily to the erect necks, to assassinate the truth and break the noble pens."
