Seriously, all levity aside. Alas, another and good singer as well, fails to get what Kayne is saying. That singer is trying to use the clout he gained as a singer in the world of politics. No one alive today was a slave during the period of slavery in America and yet, too many equate to being in proverbial shackles even to this day. The choice Kayne talks about is how after all that America has done to try to make equality and yet maintain diversity, it is those, by choice, who strive to keep the proverbial shackles tethered to their ankles and to the past. Kayne means once a person chooses freedom and unshackles themselves from the proverbial shackles, many will find themselves to be in, then and only then will they be free and progress. If they choose to remain shackled to the past and see themselves still as the slave of yesteryear, then by their choice they are keeping those shackles on. This is very heart of what Kayne is speaking about. Those who do not wish to hear this have told Kayne he "speaks out of turn", "he is lying" etc. It is those that have used these proverbial shackles to keep good men down (and women) to increase their own financial well beings.  This is political as well as the one who strays dares others to go along. As those who are afraid, this might happen might see the unity of the masses crumble and heaven forbid they think for themselves. Thus, no longer being able to count on the block vote for democrats. Again this goes back to the money. Deny the predictable block vote machination and they fear money will dry up as if the sieve has had all the holes plugged. Kayne poses a threat to their wealth machinations and in that end, you have those who keep the good men (and women) down. I have said it for a very long time, slavery ended but like alcoholics anonymous, they just traded one addiction for another. Sad indeed.  This is the very reason all conservative men and women of African descent are called Uncle Toms (referring to the Civil War Underground Railroad). The Jews had something like this in the ghettos during WWII they were called Capos and this was a totally different concept. But the similarity as to the two is not further from the truth but in reverse. The capos would the main population and the main population in the ghettos would be the Uncle Toms. Keep a man down and he will never learn to fish, but he will learn how to beg for the fish.
