Pregnant woman shoots and kills intruder with AR-15 during home invasion in Florida
A home invasion in Florida turned deadly for one of the intruders when a pregnant homeowner reportedly fatally shot him with an AR-15.
An official with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said at a press conference that two men forced entry into a home in Lithia last Wednesday night and “made demands” of the man and woman who lived there.
They then started beating the male homeowner, Maj. Frank Losat said.
"During that incident, the female homeowner retrieved a firearm, which was in the house legally, and fired one round which struck the male victim that was deceased in the ditch," Losat said.

Detectives are executing a search warrant on the home, the Republic said.
Police told the AP that the attempted break-in doesn't appear to be random, and the investigation continues to determine if the shootings were in self-defense.
