Mosul/ NINA/ Local residents in Mosul confirmed that elements of the Islamic State (IS) began withdrawing extensively from Mosul on Thurs, 4. Sep.

A number of local residents in Mosul told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA/ that Mosul seemed almost empty after the elements of the (IS) left the city towards al-Jazera area on the borders with Syria, west of Mosul.

They explained the withdrawal started after the security forces threw notes urging people not to get close to the gathering of the elements of the Islamic State because the army is going to target them. / End
