The firm’s regional head, Christos Papadopoulos (pictured), told Reuters in an interview: “The amount of economic activity in Iraq now is substantial. We always wanted to be onshore in Iraq. It was never a question of if but a question of when. “Iraq needs everything from pipelines, power generation, infrastructure and housing. All this needs financing.“ The bank, which currently has a representative office in Iraq, plans to open branches this year in Baghdad, Basra and Erbil, as demand for project financing booms. jeepguy Posted April 5, 2013 Report Share Posted April 5, 2013 all of these things , that both postings are saying are from years past for sure ,, i remember 3 years ago they were busting at the seams , with infrastructure deals , power generation and water systems deals. housing was being bid on by korean companies, the food systems had been a big bid war that vietanam had been awarded , there has been a whole lot of infrastructure compeleted { not sure how much has been blown too heck from the haters } but also when all of this was going down ----> dr,shabbi had a few currency deals in the works , such as banking infrastructure { consisting of training , hiring, building new banks, buying new da-la-rue machines for main banking branches , } also in this mix was the credit card deals we are seeing now!! bammmm a lot of things getting finished,,,,in my opionion----> only 3 things to get the big deal done , the chapter 7 , the erbil agreements , { power sharing , g.o.i. } , and lastly currency <-------- with maliki trying to gain a foothold for a 3rd term in office he had better get these on line fast Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
