Parliamentary source announces names of eight Commissioners of IHEC

Monday, 17 September 2012

Baghdad (AIN) –A parliamentary source revealed the names of the new eight Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission.

The source stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Monday "The new eight Commissioners of the IHEC that the parliament voted on are: Suror Abd Hantooh, Safaa Ibrahim al-Mosawi, Sarbars Rashid Ibrahim, Mohsin Jabari Mohammed, Katea Mukhlif al-Zubai, Wael Mohammed Ali al-Waeli, Muqdad Hassan al-Shuraifi and Sirwan Ahmed Aziz."

The candidate Kolshan Kamal was nominated by the Turkmen but the Christians objected his nomination to represent the minorities in Iraq which resulted in postponing the vote on her.

Earlier, the parliament voted on eight out of nine as the new Commissioners of the IHEC. /End/
