  1. I know that this is old news but I found this interesting from Monday, December 03, 2007 and Jack Cafferty.... Please forgive me I stumbled on this through another topic. "Where have our news reporters gone? They have all become Hollywood readers. Never investigated anything. Except for Anderson Cooper and Jack Cafferty Cafferty: Billion$ into Iraq? WATCH "The Cafferty File": Teddy bear outrage? If Iraq is the third most corrupt country in the world, why does the U.S. continue to pour hundreds of billions of dollars into it? It's easy, Jack: the corrupt politicians here in America are receiving kickbacks from the corporate greed that has grown up around the Iraqi government that we are backing. It's easy for Bush to request more money because the more he spends of our money, the more money the American corporations make for providing supposed services for rebuilding. -John Jack, The simplest and most accurate way to answer this question is with one tiny little greasy word "OIL". -Mike, Loveland, Colorado Jack, The answer is simple: we keep pouring money into Iraq because we have one of the most corrupt administrations in American History. Teapot Dome? Watergate? Small change compared to this bunch. -Jim Good question, Jack. I wish I knew the answer myself. It's so warming to know that we keep pumping billions of dollars into a country that is getting more corrupt by the day, and fail to notice our own economic shortcomings here at home. -Bob, Ann Arbor, Michigan Will Mitt Romney's speech about being a Mormon faith help or hurt his campaign? Jack, It won't make any difference. Those who are not part of the Christian right don't care. Those who are will settle for nothing less than a "savior". -Daryl, Ontario It doesn't matter to me what religion a candidate is. I think most of us are interested in what they are going to do about the issues at hand, like immigration, Iraq, high gas prices etc. -Janet, Live Oak, Florida It is likely that Romney's speech will only hurt him. As a former practicing Mormon myself who is still sympathetic to the religion, I have found that openly discussing the faith only stirs up more questions than it answers. -Dave, Seattle, Washington Is it the government's job to limit junk food sales in schools? I am a tenth grade high school student and I am writing a article in our school newspaper about banning junk food but as soon as I shared it with my class, everyone jumped on my case asking me why is it my business what they eat. -Sade, Maryland The local schools here make a ton of money off of the selling of junk food. The soda and candy vendors give them a cut. The schools won’t want to loose that money. -Chris, Scranton, Pennsylvania Jack, is this a serious question? We need to get the government out of the child-rearing business and let parents do their job. Don't our politicians have other things to be concerned with? -Charles, Arkansas Jack, I think that if this law actually passes it will wind up in the Supreme Court within 6 months. While they may mean well, the federal government has no right to dictate what children eat. -Michelle, Somerville, New Jersey Posted By Jack Cafferty, CNN Commentator: 12/03/2007 06:40:00 PM ET | Permalink http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/situation.room/blog/ How enlightening.
  2. Hey K98knights, I wonder if it would be a good idea if you were to "pin" a listing (of links) of Iraqi news sites in order of credibility that you frequent. It might cut down on your workload of posting each one of the news articles. Further, it would cause more peeps to become involved in performing their own due diligence with regard to the dinar and Iraqi politics. I really enjoyed the format you presented on numerous occasions which showed the title of the article and the link in one post. I know it is a laborious task for you to post so many news updates during the day. We thank you for being a watchful eye on breaking news in Iraq. Thanks again

  8. link was given above, but here it is again. http://www.cbsnews.c...urce=vanityurl/ GO RV
  9. Thank you Phoenix for your post. The reassurance of your post has helped many peeps that are dire need for this RV to happen. (me included) Although I came to this investment in a Spiritual manor and not from a financial perspective it sure looks like the two are going to intersect. Thank you again for your reassurance. djgabrielie Phil. 4: 4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again; Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And...the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  10. Found this on Wikipedia... Massoud Barzani and his relatives control a large number of commercial enterprises in Kurdistan-Iraq, with a gross value of several billion US dollars. The family is routinely accused of corruption and nepotism by Kurdish media as well as international observers including Michael Rubin. [3] In May 2010 the journalist Sardasht Osman was murdered after criticising the Barzani family[4]. In July 2010 the opposition paper Rozhnama accused the Barzani-led KDP of pocketing large sums from illegal oil-smuggling[5]. Another straight up individual. lol
  11. Your welcome... The additional graphic is actually more beneficial with regard to the news articles.
  12. Massoud Barzani (Kurdish: مسعودبارزانی, Mesûd Barzanî) (born 16 August 1946) is the current President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. Barzani was born in Mahabad, Kurdistan, during the rule of the Republic of Mahabad. He has five sons (incl. Masrour) and three daughters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massoud_Barzani#President_of_South_Kurdistan Hope this helps.
  13. Deputy Muhammad Saadoun - Member of State Law and one of Maliki's cronies. rah rah rah I don't believe it.
  14. A member of the negotiating committee for the coalition of Kurdish blocs Sardar Abdullah is blowing hot air. They way I read it, 8 vital ministers as well as President Talabani are all members of the Kurdistani Alliance.
  15. Aswat al-Iraq: No substance and no names given as to who made this decision. More often than not, when we even post on DV we are required to provide Names, Places and Links. Aswat al-Iraq is bogus information.
  16. More news with no substance... Meanwhile, Maliki and Vice President Adel Abdul-Mahdi have been proposed as possible nominees to form the next government. "Many parties have no objection to Maliki's nomination but we want the approval of all parties," Qusai Abd al-Wahab of the Sadr movement said after the Monday meeting. "Tomorrow, God willing, we will announce a candidate. Talks are continuing as we seek to get a 100 percent consensus," said Ali al-Adeeb of Maliki's Dawa party. On Monday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said there has been "an important positive result" of the delay in forming a government, showing that the Iraqi leaders "will not budge to foreign pressures." "They want to decide their own future, to choose their own government, their own leaders by themselves," Zebari went on to say. Adel Abdul-Mahdi - Deputy President (one of two) Hoshyar Zebari -Minister of Foreign Affairs Qusai Abd al-Wahab - a Sadrist leader Ali al-Adeeb - Iraqi politician and a senior member of the Islamic Dawa Party Just to clarify.
  17. I found this there as well.... hope this helps you as much as it has me. GBU
  18. I have been having trouble with all the news coming out of Iraq on who is saying what about who. Further I just don't know who is really in the position of power. (ie: capable of making a decision) Well I decided to see what Wikipedia had to offer. I am still not sure if this list is up to date but it sure helps me to clarify the news articles from Iraq. Here is the link: Wikipedia - New Iraqi Government
  19. Mr. Parrot, I too am one of the many who are stretched. With that said, I am also one of the many who are blessed. When I feel that way, I refer to what is written at the bottom of my email which reads: Phil. Yours in Christ, djgabrielie
  20. Ahmedinejad has always lied and will always lie. Just like the rest of his country. Liars and thieves. Still has two of three hikers in prison. After an entire year.
  21. Phoenix, Thanks for your posts. You can see that what comes around goes around time and time again. I have created what I call the Scrapbook of Events which comprises many posts, comments and rumors over the short time frame (Feb) that I have been involved with the IQD and the VND. The SOE is now up to 3 volumes and growing. I have seen the timeframe when Terry K, Erroste and Gankins gone from site to site looking for a home. Last one being C C. They wore out their welcome on many sites and they had to start their own. There are only a few people such as yourself, Adam, Sonny that have provided concise and to the point information which we can track this investment. I really do believe in the forest for the trees philosophy and do not get caught up in the day to day rumors anymore. I know that the RV/RI will happen. I know that they will form some sort of Government and not fall backwards into war. I know that we need to step back and see the forest and the trees. Thanks again, djgabrielie
