  1. No back peddling on my part . Obviously you and dcupp missed it when Ali said banks will charge a 2%-4% spread. Ali, however, will not, so no "a-d-d-i-t-i-o-n-a-l spread". See how easy that was. If people don't know they will sell their dinars at the CBI "BUY" rate then they need to educate themselves. Sorry if my using the term "additional spread" instead of "bank spread" confused you, it's really not hard. I'll pass on the "Cash In Guide". Be sure to send one to dcupp though, she sounds like she can use all the help she can get.
  2. Actually we aren't missing a thing. The CBI spread has always been a given. It's really not that complicated. You're missing the fact that everyone is talking about an "additional spread"by Ali. Every bank will add one but Ali said succinctly said that he won't, that's all we're talking about. Nobody thinks Ali is going to buy at a rate higher than the CBI, that's just ludicrous,The CBI rate is the best anyone can do and it's ok with me. We do agree that there is no Ali spread. Period. dcupp is having a problem with this truth though.
  3. Just keep in mind if you're near retirement age you can't touch a new Roth for five years. If you're under 50 years old you can only contribute $5,000.00 per year, over 50, $6,000.00. Just some food for thought.
  4. That doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is how many people hang on their every word and fawn over them with "thank yous". It really is pathetic. In a way I feel sorry for them.
  5. You are right dcupp, some are slower than others, you're a perfect example of that. Read the transcript I posted so you can catch up slow poke. I don't see the word PLUS anywhere. You can't blame ear wax this time. If you still see a spread in there maybe you need glasses or maybe reading comprehension tutoring. By the way it's "cbi.iq....duh. I know it's hard for you but please try to catch up. Nope no Ali spread in there!
  6. I just finished listening to it again. Slide the knob about 65%-70% over. Here is a word for word quote from Ali on the DT cash in rate: I don't think Ali could make it any clearer than that. If someone interprets a spread from that then they have serious comprehension issues.
  7. I'm not sure what he meant by worthless but the going down being good might make a little sense. On a chart, when the dinar value increases, the line on the chart moves down. That's all I can think of. Maybe he was too inexperienced to explain it properly or he could just be a moron.
  8. This all seems silly to me. Dinars are so cheap, just buy what you want and sit on them. Why be bothered with all this other nonsense. if you lose a 10% deposit per month in only 10 months you lost enough to just buy them.
  9. You need to listen to it again. He plainly said he would pay the CBI RATE with no spread, PERIOD. Use a Q-tip first next time.
  10. This is EXCELLENT! This is the first time I've heard him state plainly that "he will pay the CBI rate", no spread, just a $150.00 per million service fee. He's always been a little coy about beating the bank's rate but in this interview he was very candid, finally! Thanks for the post!
  11. I must have missed this. Where did this information come from?
  12. Based on that report it doesn't look like Iraq is getting out of Ch 7 anytime soon.
  13. You would be right except for the fact that she has a major influence on their country's government and that directly impacts our investment. I want to know when someone with that kind of power has the same vested interest as me.
  14. This came from Duck2000's chat at so and so's place. Duck 2000 has been wrong on every prediction for years. He/she talks a good game but is never correct.
  15. Maybe it's his way of saying he's going from blue to green. I think the joker would be more fitting for him though. LOL!
  16. Record levels? Seriously... 0.15?LOL! You just can't grasp it can you. Neither China nor Vietnam want their currencies to increase. The world buys so much from them, China mainly, that there's not much the west can do if they don't increase it. We've given up entire industries to them for cheap products, higher profits and to keep inflation down. The west grumbles about currency manipulation but in reality there isn't much they can do to force China's hand. If China raises their currency the cost will go up profits will go down and inflation will increase. Vietnam is not stupid, they are following China's example. Dong holders are going to be left holding their dong.
  17. Bingo Blog69! I can't understand why people can't wrap their brain around this simple financial concept. It's real simple VND investors. A low currency keeps their products cheap which benefits them economically. Raising their currency will make their products more expensive which will hurt them economically. NO RV of VND. Got it?
  18. If you think Iraq and Iran are the only and most corrupt countries in the ME you're naive. You proved my point with Iran. They are corrupt but stable, they may not be what we want them to be ideologically but for all intents and purposes they are stable even with economic sanctions against them. Corruption is not holding up the RV, it's ridiculous to believe that. If you think this is true cash in your dinar now because it will never RV by your theory. Iraq will always be corrupt, it was in the past, it is in the present and it will continue to be in the future.
  19. The entire middle east is flush with corruption. I disagree that this shows instability. It's a way of life for other countries in the ME who we would consider stable. Car bombs and suicide bombers show instability, an impotent central government and non-functioning parliament show instability; but corruption? By Middle East standards I can't agree with that. The rest of your post agrees with my opinion so we're in agreement there.
  20. What the heck does " the money will never make it to the people" mean? People who are employed are earning money. An RV just means the money they earn will be worth something, So what "money won't make it to the people"? The money the people already have and earn will enable them to buy more for less because it will have value. What a stupid statement. Dual citizenship has nothing to do with anything. If the PMs were truly acting in their own self-interest they would pressure the CBI to RV. That would really be in their own interest and the citizens of Iraq would benefit from this self-interest. Another dumb statement. There's no question corruption is rampant but it was rampant before 2003 too and the currency had value. Corruption is not preventing an RV. It was a dumb theory in the first paragraph and it's a dumb one now. Keeping their currency at a fraction of a penny will do nothing to reduce corruption. This is a sad example of the quality of ANALysts our government hires. This guy knows squat.
  21. It's not like this joke hasn;t been done 15,000 times in the last six year.
  22. You may not have heard of another site until a month ago but he's not new. Many of us have known about him for about 5-6 years.
  23. Duane said very clearly that it was the national news and NOT a local affiliate.
  24. Doc 31, I appreciate your effort to educate people on the spread. Unfortunarely you will always have some numbskull say "I talked to my branch manager and she said they won't charge me because I have an account". Some people just can't wrap their brain around the concept of a spread. They are the ones who will get clobbered when cashing out. Oh well someone has to, might as well be them.
  25. I bet the chickens appreciate it though.
