House Kills SOPA Monday, January 16, 2012 8:29 In a surprise move today, Representative Eric Cantor(R-VA) announced that he will stop all action on SOPA, effectively killing the bill. This move was most likely due to several things. One of those things is that SOPA and PIPA met huge online protest against the bills. Another reason would be that the White House threatened to veto the bill if it had passed. However, it isn't quite time yet to celebrate, as PIPA(the Senate's version of SOPA) is still up for consideration. The online protests about the bill were surprising and large. They ranged anywhere from callng Representatives, companies, and senators to get them to change their mind, to actively moving domain's away from and targeting the business model of the companies that supported/lobbied for the bill. GoDaddy lost well over 100,000 domains in the space of about 10 days due to their involvement with these bills, along with other various targets. Reddit in particular has been influential in turning the tide against SOPA and PIPA, and is a good demonstration of how the Internet enables Democracy. PIPA is less well known than SOPA, but the provisions are basicly the same. It still includes the same DNS blocking and censoring system that the original SOPA did, just without the SOPA name. There are around 40 co-sponsors of the bill in the Senate so far, with no word on how many senators support the bill in addition to that. There will most likely need to be 60 votes in the Senate in order to invoke cloture and end an almost guaranteed filibuster. Gov't Stupidity: The IMF Is Now Begging China, Russia, And India For $500 Billion To Bail Out Europe Wednesday, January 18, 2012 6:57 From Bloomberg: The International Monetary Fund is proposing to raise its lending capacity by $500 billion to insulate the global economy against any worsening of Europe's debt crisis, according to a person familiar with the talks. The Washington-based lender currently has about $385 billion available to lend and wants to lift that to $885 billion after identifying the potential for a $1 trillion global financing gap in the next two years, the person said. To incorporate a cash buffer, that means asking its membership for $600 billion. IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said yesterday her staff are studying options to increase the fund's war-chest. While euro-region nations have already pledged to contribute 150 billion euros ($192 billion), the U.S. has said it has no plans to make new bilateral loans and G-20 leaders ended last year at odds over the issue. "The biggest challenge is to respond to the crisis in an adequate manner and many executive directors stressed the necessity and urgency of collective efforts to contain the debt crisis in the euro area and protect economies around the world," Lagarde said yesterday in an e-mailed statement following a discussion among her institution's board of directors. The Washington-based lender is pushing China, Brazil, Russia, India, Japan, and oil-exporting nations to be the top contributors, according to a Group of 20 official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks are private. The fund wants the agreement struck at the February 25-26 meeting of G-20 finance ministers and central bankers in Mexico City, the official said. Euro Gains The push for more money by the IMF may extend this month's rally in investor sentiment toward European debt markets on speculation the region is enjoying a respite from its two-year debt turmoil and that any euro-area recession may be shallow. The euro today rose 0.5% to $1.2797 as of 12:32 p.m. in London. In a sign the crisis may have longer to run, the World Bank yesterday cut its global growth forecast by the most in three years to 2.5% this year and said the euro area may contract 0.3%. If the drugs were legalized that would bring a quick halt to the drug cartels, and empty out the prison population of non violent petty drug offenses, saving more billions yearly. Like the smart man Ron Paul stated, just because a drug is legal does not mean people are going to do it. In my opinion, the government does not have the right to tell an individual what they can do with their own body, and if they want to smoke pot, or do drugs that is their business, and they will have to face any consequences health wise etc, of doing it. Alcohol has killed more people than can be counted, and not one case where marijuana has killed anybody. Also it would not benefit Ron Paul, or America to have Newt Gingrich as his Vice President, because Gingrich would be stonewalling things, and conspiring behind Ron Paul's back. Newt, Santorum, Perry need to go ahead and get out of the race, because they do not have a chance, and they know it.

WMR has received information that various competing camps, including the Hillarious Clinton and John McCain campaigns, attempted to co-opt Sinclair and his revelations for their own political purposes. Leon was nominated for the federal bench by President George W. Bush on September 10, 2001. Note: Blagojevich’s defense in his federal corruption trial is slated to begin today in Chicago. Judge James Zagel has denied the defense’s request for all the government’s wiretaps to be played. The tapes, as previously reported by WMR, contain some earthy references to Obama’s and his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel’s homosexual habits. Sinclair has told WMR that he believes the Obama White House is trying to have his book withdrawn from circulation to avoid any further embarrassments about Obama’s homosexual past and the possible involvement of his top lieutenants in Young’s murder. The Globe reported in May 2008 that a top Chicago private detective said he believed Young was “rubbed out” because of his relationship with Obama. The information was provided to The Globe by Young’s mother, who also now fears for her life and plans to leave her Peoria, Illinois home for a secret location.
