Sorry Brisco, But I don't agree with your 1) attitude about Newbies (or perhaps stupid people?) or 2) Your advice. What exactly would you like Cath to do research on before stating an OPINION? He (or she) NEVER said that Betty's pics were offensive. Just that there were too many of HIS (or her) taste. I am not sure that was an insult. I think cath has just as much right to post on this forum as anyone else regardless of how long they have been here. This thread started out as a pretty simple question/observation IMO, and just because he had the misfortune to use Betty, (a highly popular member) as an EXAMPLE, he has been bashed almost non stop for the past 36 hours?? I like the way he thinks, but I have 2 problems with his theories. They are numbers 3 and 4. 3. Lesser value notes in circulation such as 50, 250, 500. Devaluing the larger 3 zero notes would make them worth less than these lesser notes. IF they LOP, ALL of the notes will be changed. 500 becomes .5, 250 becomes .25 etc... (hence the coins) 4. Iraq wants the dinar to be an international reserve currency. Cannot devalue the notes in reserve (25,000), circulate them as payment, or traded amongst countries. As much as I would like to, I don't see a LOP as a devaluation. Let's use the loaf of bread scenario. If you can buy a loaf of bread with 25000, and post LOP you can buy that same bread with 25, the value has not changed. If Iraqis can buy the same amount of goods as they could with the old notes, why would they care? And as far as we are concerned, I bought a 25000 note for 23.00. It becomes 25, and is worth 23.00. I haven't "lost" anything.
