Financial Terrorism in America is " World War III"
kiteman replied to wishfulthinking's topic in Off Topic posts
Every person over commenting on the Occupy Wall Street thread should come over here and read this posting. They can try to blame all the issues in our country on one person, but it's been going on for years! This situation didn't just pop up in 2009. Some people need to read!!!!!! -
Obama: 'I'd like to work my way around Congress' ...
kiteman replied to NonLinear's topic in Off Topic posts
He just said that he'd love to act unilaterally but that's not the way our democracy works. Sounds like he's following the constitution to me? He can't do anything about the issue until congress acts. Where is Boehner? Where is Cantor? I haven't seen any immigration reform bills from congress. President has very limited powers to change the law. All he can influence is the enforcement. Go look at my earlier post. Looks like he's doing that. Maybe everyone should start riding John "Merlot" Boehner around. He's the worst Speaker of the House we've had in a very long time. -
Obama: 'I'd like to work my way around Congress' ...
kiteman replied to NonLinear's topic in Off Topic posts
Right from the Immigration & Customs Enforcement site: 2007 FY deportations (last year of the All Republican Government) : 291,060 total deportations. 2010 FY deportations (last fully year of stats available) : 392, 862 total deportations. 2011 FY deportations YTD (with two full months of stats left.) 324,719. (2010 Stats show that there were over 70,000 deportations the last 2 months of 2010, if they keep that pace they'll be over 400,000!0 http://www.ice.gov/doclib/about/offices/ero/pdf/ero-removals.pdf So the Obama administration is doing something about Illegal Immigration. What are Boehner and Cantor doing?? They make the laws? What did W. and the Republicans do for immigration reform for 6 years??? Nothing! This problem didn't start in 2009 and it won't end in 2013, regardless of who the president of the United States is. This problem won't be fixed until the $ behind it doesn't need the cheap labor anymore. No sooner, no later. So you can blame Obama, you can blame W., or you can blame all of them for being beholden to big business. You choose. -
While doing my research on this subject, I've come across this email before. I had high hopes that the process was as simple as this email makes it seem, but unfortunately it's not. The first three digits indiacate the country the bar code was issued in, not where the product was manufactured. Below is an article and link about this from a website I did my research at. I've also included the links as they are in the article since they wouldn't copy in. Source: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/product-bar-codes.shtml Product Barcode Country Identification Outline Email claims that consumers can identify what country a product was manufactured in by analyzing the first 3 digits of the product's barcode. Brief Analysis The information in the message is misleading. While the first three digits of the product barcode may sometimes indicate where the product was manufactured, it will not always do so. The barcode prefix is not a reliable and constant method of determining a product's country of manufacture. Detailed Analysis This email claims that consumers can find out which country a product was manufactured in by examining the product's barcode. According to the message, the first three digits of the product barcode identify where the product was made. It suggests that concerned consumers could thus easily identify products made in countries with a dubious reputation for contaminated or dangerous products such as China by matching the first three barcode digits to a country list included in the message. However, the information in the message is quite misleading. The first three digits of European Article Number (EAN) barcodes are known as the manufacturing code and they do indicate which EAN numbering authority allocated a particular set of numbers. Every country that uses the EAN system has its own numbering authority which is responsible for assigning manufacturer codes for companies within its jurisdiction. These codes are sometimes referred to as "country codes". Thus, at first take, the information in the message may seem valid. However, in reality, this is not the case. An FAQ published on bar code information website Bar Code 1 explains: Does the barcode number indicate the country of origin of a product? No it doesn't. The 3-digit prefix code indicates which numbering organization has allocated the bank of numbers to the company. For example, a company may have it's headquarters in South Africa. The EAN organization in South Africa has the code "600", but all the products of the company may be manufactured in England. The English-made products would still have the "600" prefix code. The prefix code is a way to have 70-plus EAN member organizations issuing numbers without having to worry about duplicate numbers. This information is confirmed on a barcode FAQ published on global standards organization, GS1's website: FAQ A GTIN starts with the GS1 Prefix of the GS1 Member Organisation that allocated a GS1 Company Prefix to a company to allow them to generate GTINs and bar code their products. This does not mean that the product was manufactured in a specific country or by a specific manufacturer, it may have been produced anywhere in the world. Thus, while the first three digits of the product barcode may sometimes indicate where the product was manufactured, it will not always do so. For example, a barcode that has 690 as the first three digits indicates that the barcode was assigned by the Chinese EAN numbering authority. However, it does not necessarily mean that the product was actually manufactured in China. Therefore, the advice given in this email is actually rather pointless. The information in the email would only be useful to consumers if the prefix invariably indicated where a product was manufactured. The fact that the barcode prefix is not a reliable and constant method of determining a product's country of manufacture means that, while the information in the email may be interesting, it is actually of little practical value. You may be able to find out more information about a particular product by using a barcode search facility like the one provided on the GSI website. http://gepir.gs1.org/v31/xx/

A few day later ol' Helga notice a little bit of skin irritation on her face, probably from all the heat and persperation from the last few days. So she calls her girlfriend Marta and tells her of her predicament. Marta tells her she should have a milk bath down at the local spa. So off to the spa ol' Helga goes. She goes in and tells the lady at the desk about her situation and the young lady tells her she has an open appointment. Please go back to room 3 and await your assistant. Ol' Helga is lovin' the spa experience so far. Nice people, nice place, easy access. " I could get used to this" she says to herself. So she's awaiting in room three when her technician comes in. "Yes Miss Helga, I'm going to need you to disrobe and recline in this nice tub we have here for you". Ol' Helga meekly undresses, trying to hide her wares from the young female technician, and slinks into the tub. The young spa worker is reading over Olga's paper work and says "Ah, a milk bath today I see. That will be very refreshing after the last few days!" "Ya" Olga replies. "Would you like that Pasturized" the young tech asks. "NAH, just up to me boobs, I can splash it from there!"

Since about 20% of American's are on either side of the Left vs. Right, and the other 60% or so are in the middle, I think we should go with the Steve Miller Band: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, Stuck in the middle with you
-
Finally the lights are coming on around America. These players love all of the Left vs. Right, Obama vs. Bush, and all these other issues that 90% of Americans are distracted by. Obama has no more control over our economy than does Boehner/Cantor/McConnell and the rest of them. They ALL bow down to the MONEY that runs our country. You can say what you want about any of them and their proposed policies and/or ideas, but until the MONEY signs off on the idea; it won't be implemented.

John Kerry: ‘This Is the Tea Party Downgrade’
kiteman replied to krome2ez's topic in Off Topic posts
They all are! Kerry, Pelosi, Ried, Hoyer, McCain, McConnell, Boehner, Cantor..... and on and on and on....... And not a single one of them care one iota about anyone making middle class wages in this country. It's all about reelection! Go look through all the Congressmen and Senators on this site. I haven't found one yet that lists "private citizens" as their main campaign contributors. All of them are sponsored by business, banking, or oil companies. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd Makes me throw up in my mouth a little. -

The Not-So-Secret Conservative Plot to Raise Taxes
kiteman replied to mojack's topic in Off Topic posts
Where on earth do you get your numbers??? You're going to seriously tell us the federal deficit was at 8 trillion when Bush took office??? Really? There's this thing out there called google. You can find almost anything in about thirty seconds. Like this site from the US Tresury that has a cool little look up for the deficit by date. I used January 20, 2001 for the start and January 20, 2009 for the end, just to see what the deficit did during the W. administration. http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/NPGateway Things that make you go hmmmmmmm........ Start date: 5.7 Trillion. End date: 10.6 Trillion. You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts! -
More shenanigans from Americans for Prosperity! http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2011/08/01/Faulty-absentee-ballots-mailed-in-Wis/UPI-23581312243325/ They claim they're mailing only to their members. How???? Can the President arbitrarily raise the debt ceiling? Can he end run congress? In the eyes of the Tea Party, the only way he can fix it is to bend to their demands and / or default. The leader of the Tea Party Caucus, Mrs. Bachman, says let it expire, no big deal? Are all of you Tea Party supporters behind your leader and ready to let it expire next Tuesday and see what happens?

Nor do I really mind the Right Wing rants that go on in this forum. I think a nice healthy debate is good for our country. So I'll listen to all the Tea Partiers and their ravings all day long, and I'll even listen to rtrusty and his birther buddies. I like hearing all sides and making a decision on my own. I don't need the Tea Party or Grover Norquist to tell me how I can vote and what I can support. I'll support whats best for the country. Ummmmm..... the Democrats were in the minority when this video was shot. These bills to fix Fannie / Freddie didn't even make it out of Republican controlled committees to make it to the floor. How would the minority party, especially in the House stop this?? This is the right wing boogey man. They didn't control the House, they didn't control the Senate, and they didn't control the Presidency. Why didn't these get fixed? Look to the party in charge at the time. As for Mr. Rangel, he should be out of office, just like David Vitter should be. But I also don't see him on TV every night making these outlandish statements about policy like Mr. Walsh does. Mr. Walsh is blaming the entire mess we're in on the President. In reality, this is a complete non issue during any other term in office. Mr. Walsh is a HYPOCRIT of the highest order. He should clean his house first. We'll see how the Tea Party numbers look if they let the nation go to default. And thanks for the advice on the financial planner, but I already have one and have my funds well placed to ward off all the damage that will occur if we reach default. Dinar investment is something I do for fun and am not waiting by my computer for the cash in date. When it does happen, I'll help the economy.
-
I already answered in posts above. Some of those ideals and ideas I agree with, some I don't. Some I agree are NON NEGOTIABLE but others should be up for debate and decision. No one party should ever get the right or the power to push this much of an agenda onto all AMERICANS.
-
You hit water and just keep diggin' don't ya....... Where did I mention Obama and my support for him in any of my posts??? You (and Mongo) automatically assume that anyone that posts anything to question the Tea Party or the Republican must be a flaming liberal. Well, you are mistaken. There are millions of people like me out in AMERICA that are centrists. We don't go clear to the Right as the TeaParty and we don't go clear to the Left. But you want me to defend Obama, I will. He has failed to turn around the economy because Washington is completely disfunctional and can't get anything done. This current mess is a perfect example. The debt ceiling has NEVER been tied to the budget negotiations, NEVER. Now all of a sudden there have to be spending cuts to match it? Now, the Reid plan gives the Republicans every thing that Boehner asked for back in January. Spending cuts equal to or above the increase in the ceiling, but NOOOO, not good enough for Mr. Walsh and the Tea Party in the House. Then look at the health care debate. Obama and the Democrats moved to the middle and away from single payer and took in over 200 ammendments to the bill that Republicans wanted. What did they get for this effort? Not a single Republican vote. How many examples should I give you???? You and the other poster about the NON NEGOTIABLE are perfect examples of what's wrong in Washington. A whole bunch of new radicals that want it their way or the highway, the rest of the AMERICAN citizens be damned. And you want to see the reaction to last November and it's results. Watch Wisconsin on August 9th and watch what happens to the Ohio bill in November. REJECTED!
-
7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 should be up for debate. Not everyone in this country agrees on them. 13, 14, and 15 are subjective and very difficult to legislate. For example, who gets to define "traditional" for family values? Is that why they want to legislate how women deal with their doctors, how people can act in their bedrooms, who can marry, who can and can't form unions to negotiate for better wages/safer work environments/better working conditions? Democrats want to control certain aspects of everyones lives, which is just as wrong as Republicans and TeaPublicans wanting to control other portions of our lives. Minimize government out of personal lives and do what it was created to do, govern the laws of the land. Not my personal life.
-
One Tea Publican is all...... are you sure???? Palin, Bachman, Cantor, Rand Paul, Allen West, Angle, O'Donnell,.......... how many should I list. And I haven't even started on all the Governors that have lower approval ratings that the President. Buyer's Remorse is running rampant. The part of your post that I don't agree with is the part at the top of your list that says NON NEGOTIABLE. So the Tea Party gets to decide for everyone on all these issues because they are the smartest, most productive, most honest, and know what's the best for all AMERICANS. No, not everyone in this country should just fall in line with this list of ideals. AMERICA is a melting pot of ideas and populations that are free to live their lives without some other party telling them what they can and can't do.
-
I agree, I think the back and forth name calling is getting out of control (and I slip into it on occaison). We need people in Washington that are smart enough to quit taking the nation to the edge of shutdown or default and are smart enough to work together to solve our issues. I don't care if they are from the Mars Party, if they can get something done!
-
Hilarious! The first person to mention Bush? The right winger! The first person to mention the race card? The right winger!!! You can't make this stuff up!!! This article is about a Teapublican that can't pay his bills and is a fiscal neophyte, yet you tea partiers think he should help to fix our fiscal problems in DC. Amazing if it wasn't so scary. You can deflect onto Obama all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that you elect people that are not fit for office. Enjoy your two years!
-
So what your saying is you can't dispute the fact that this TeaPublican that supports your views is a deadbeat dad, that can't pay his bills or his staff, can't pay his mortgage, and claims to be destitute, is the kind of people you want leading our nation at this time. Perfect example of why the Tea Party will be gone in about 14 months. America is starting to see who makes up the Tea Party and it's a little rancid.

Here is a perfect example of why nothing can get done in Washington DC. Newly elected Tea-Publican Joe Walsh of Illinios is on TV almost nightly now critisizing Democrats and specifically, President Obama, about spending and controlling the country's finances. Yet Mr. Walsh appears to have an issue of running up bills and then not paying them. Then he moves onto his next idea and doesn't bother to make up for his past transgressions. Home Forclosure (walk away and move to a new town) and back child support he can't pay. Yet he has money to loan his campaign for Congress $35,000? How does a guy that can't pay his mortgage or his child support have $35K laying around to loan to his campaign???? Sounds just like what the current Republican party is up to. Passed tax cuts in 2001 & 2003(not paid for with offsets in reduced spending), started war off the books (not even in the budget but adding to the deficit), and a Medicare Part D program (not paid for with any reduction in spending to offset). Now when these bills start coming due, with interest, they don't want to raise the Governments debt ceiling to continue to pay for this spending. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm......... http://www.suntimes.com/mobile/6720892-463/tea-party-rep.-joe-walsh-sued-for-100000-in-child-support

Rep. Steve King:Obama could be impeached over debt crisis
kiteman replied to kmseeker's topic in Off Topic posts
I love some of these Republicans in the House. They open the first session of congress this year by reading the Constitution. But they screwed that up an skipped parts of it. Then they thought two members could be sworn in by video, since they were busy gladhanding some lobbyists in the hallway and missed the ceremony. Now they want to impeach the President for something that is clearly denoted in that very Constitution as being the responsibility of the House. Plus, President Obama hasn't blocked anything. They haven't sent him a bill to sign. Maybe Mr. King should go back and watch Schoolhouse Rock and see how a bill becomes law. Schoohouse Rock: I'm just a Bill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEJL2Uuv-oQ -
NO, and I mean NO, business owner pays taxes based upon receipts! All businesses pay taxes on PROFITS. Did you know that raising taxes on PROFITS of over $250,000 would effect less than 3% of all small business owners in the United States. Being in the top 2 - 5% of American wealth does not make you middle class.
