  1. I'm a Registered Independent Conservative too. And I was unable to make any sense of the first half of the sentence. Typo?
  2. Who said anything about "trust"? I don't know that anybody trusts any politician. Except for the Ron Paul supporters. They all trust Ron Paul. In our 2 party system (which admittedly sucks, but that's what we've got) I'm going to support the nominee of the party against Obama, because Obama is obviously bent on the end of democracy and freedom as we know it, and in another 4 years will accomplish moving us totally into a Marxist state, and we cannot afford to take this risk. Almost anybody who values the free market will be a better choice than Obama. If you think you could trust Ron Paul, then you are the naive one Trust is irrelevant. This is about making a better choice that can win, and not greasing the wheels for Obama to get another four years. Assuming that he doesn't abuse his powers some more, and cancel the elections.
  3. So early in the day to run out of negs. A +1 to you for the most intelligent comment on the thread.
  4. I would buy your explanation except for the heading. Your heading is inflammatory of what the video shows actually happened. I'm all for being well educated about the candidates, but the trouble is that many people will read what you said without watching the video and believe it. So I don't think your explanation is truthful, and your position rather biased. And then you negged me? TWICE? Jeez.
  5. I don't care how old the guy is, he was RUDE and DISRUPTED THE MEETING. Ryan tries to make light of the situation in which the guy was arrested and hauled off by saying "I hope he's been taking his blood pressure medication." What else you gonna say after some crazy idiot goes off like that? I think it was very appropriate. JMO. I get sick of misleading inflammatory posts like this.
  6. http://www.lvrj.com/opinion/obama-s-agenda--overwhelm-the-system-95716764.html For people too lazy to follow the link in the posted article: Rahm Emanuel cynically said, "You never want a crisis to go to waste." It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama's presidency. Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within. Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it. -- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression? -- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around." -- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government. -- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security. -- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means. -- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system. Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama.  Wayne Allyn Root was the 2008 Libertarian Party vice presidential nominee and serves on the Libertarian National Committee.
  7. Yep. I'm voting for the Republican Nominee against Obama.
  8. Please forgive the questions, but I don't watch TV much, and didn't really see who the guy talking was. Who was the guest with this hypothesis? Can someone explain who he is beyond his name, and why his opinion is worth something? I find that the idiots on TV don't really know much most of the time, just blowing hot air. I'd like to know more about where this comes from. It looks like he is some kind of employee of an investment firm? I'd like to know beyond that if his opinion has more weight than Okie. Thanks in advance!
  9. I don't know why someone negged you. That was a good respectful post. I evened you out.
  10. I'd rather fight fire with a good strong stream of steaming pee. It works better, and it's much more fun.
  11. I'm pretty sure nobody said it was wrong. We said RP couldn't win. We said that a vote for RP splits the vote against Obama, and was likely to put Obama in office for another four. Nothing wrong with your opinion or desire. It's just not a useful one. My uncle had a desperate desire to see the Red Sox win the Pennant. He believed they could, and that they deserved to. He didn't live to see it. Nothing wrong with his desire, or his belief. But his desire and belief didn't bring it to pass in the timing he wanted. --------- I do want to say that the pictures posted of the candidates, making fun of them....over the line, by parties on both sides of the issue. I thought we were all above stooping that low. Like we'll finish the fight by saying "and your mom is ugly and she wears combat boots to church on Sunday." I mean, really.
  12. Wow! Thanks for posting that Chris! It makes me feel even better about my choice. That was my chief concern.
  13. Well, since there is some chance Romney could win, and no chance that Ron Paul will win unless he makes it onto the ticket in our two party system, I'm willing to gamble on maybe at least the train will proceed towards the cliff a little more slowly when Romney takes over. I mean, can we really tolerate any chance to get Obama back in for another four years "when he'll have more flexibility?" If RP were on the ticket, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat, in spite of his foreign policy. That's the difference between you and me, Scrum. I will vote for the person most likely to evict Obama, and you will vote for the one you like who is most likely to lose. You have that right, for now. We are still mostly a free country.
  14. You all doped up Scrum? Having a hard time digesting the simple math again? Well thanks for not calling me a hater because I'm not going to.
  15. We started out the thread that way. It was ignored on post #4 too. I didn't do it as accurately as you did, but the point remains. kid4dinar, he lumps anyone who doesn't think RP can win in together with haters. If you think a vote for RP is a vote for Obama, you're a RP hater. I think I should go on record AGAIN saying I don't hate RP either. I actually love pretty much everything he stands for except his foreign policy. But since he is not going to make it onto one of two tickets, it's kind of a moot point.
  16. So basically you've been intentionally wasting everyone's time by throwing out a known impossibility. Do you think it's possible that others you want to call ignorant haters got it but tried to humor you so that maybe you could see the light? So sad.
  17. Your post is proof that this thread is a complete waste of time.
  18. It's first grade math, Scrum. If you can't accept first grade math, and call it "just a bunch of numbers" then you aren't deserving of what it is you seek. What you're really saying is that the votes don't count at all. So what is the point of fighting for votes for RP?
  19. It's really simple. 100/2=50 One hundred votes / 2 candidates = 50 votes per candidate. One hundred votes / 1 candidate = 100 votes per candidate. What part of this confuses you, Scrum?
  20. I'm more excited about Romney as anyone else since Reagan. And like I said...rather be burnt at the stake than do the best we can do. RP can't win. If he could, he would have made the nomination. I forgot to reply to this part. It's DIVIDE AND LOSE. #%&&**#!!% I mean REALLY!!! I agree. And Romney knows something about economics. I'd love to have someone in office who is wealthy and earned it instead of a thief who doesn't think that we deserve to keep what we earn. Ok, I'm done now. ROMNEY because I want us to have a chance.
  21. RP supporters don't really respect RP's leadership. If they did, they wouldn't be talking about writing RP in on the ballot. RP knows it's a vote for Obama if he's not on the ticket. He won't be writing in his own name. RP voters would rather be burnt at the stake than vote for anyone else, and they'll continue to spread lies about Romney until November 4th. He's no where near Obama on anything he stands for, and they know it. I'm really sick of the dishonesty on this topic. Doesn't look like RP thinks Romney is just another Obama.
  22. CarbonCoyote, did I miss the part where you answered the question about whether or not you are filing tax returns and paying taxes, or if you're practicing all of this wonderful freedom and rights we have to tell the IRS to **** off?
  23. As far as I know, anyone who "opts out" of the "volunteer tax system" and gives the IRS the finger pretty much loses. Not a single victory on record. It may be true, but there's no chance an Obama regime would allow you, me, or anyone else to exert their "rights". Every attempt to fight this fight pretty much exemplifies how much our "freedom" is actually illusion. Legal or not, our tax system is run like the Gestapo.
