We took a few of them out and released them to a new home at the beginning.. Then we got tired of their kids coming back. So we decided it would be better if we just shot them. We still see opossums every once in a while. I haven't eaten one yet, but I might. Big teeth and no balls. I Like pushing them around when their playing dead. After that they usually don't come back.

  16. Posted on 28 December 2010. Ship Imports Up 100,000 Tonnes In another sign of Iraq’s continued, swift, steady progress, Iraq’s ports reported record profits exceeding 46bn dinars, according to Aknews. This is an increase of 10% compared to last year. Anmar al Safi, a director of the Iraqi Ports Public Company, said: “The rate of cargo dump increased 100,000 tonnes from 2009.” No doubt shipping imports and profits will be a lot higher once some practical issues are resolved. The key problems are a lack of deep waterways and infrastructural issues that inhibit safe navigation. Lack of equipment to scan cargo and government departments failing to work together are also issues. However, improvements are happening. Belgium company Jandinol has increased the depth of one port already by removing some sunken ships at the ports, making it easier for larger vessels to navigate. It is continuing the operations. At the moment it lacks a long list of equipment that would make the job easier, but it expects to have this soon. Shipping will also improve further if the stalled Al Faw Grand Port project (pictured) continues. 17. Posted on 28 December 2010. Tags: Construction & Engineering, Investment, Iraq, Ministry, Oil Oil Infrastructure Set for Boost The oil minister, Abdul Karim al-Luaibi, has been busy in the few days since his appointment. Not only has he announced that exports from the northern Kurdistan region are to resume, but he has also promised that the focus will be on rebuilding the decayed oil infrastructure, according to the Arab Times. Al-Luaibi, who has a lot of experience in the sector, has said that in addition to rebuilding infrastructure the priority will be to increase export capacity from the south to 4.5m barrels per day from around 1.6m bpd. The increase is to be found in two fields: the Rumaila field, holding 17.8bn barrels of oil and being developed by BP and China’s CNPC, and the Zubair field, being developed by Italy’s Eni, the US’s Occidental Petroleum Corp and South Korea’s KOGAS. However, Samuel Ciszuk of analysts IHS Global Insight is worried that improvements in infrastructure to transport and export oil cannot keep up with the rapid increase in production, due to a lack of financial resources and “infrastructural bottlenecks.” (Source: Arab Times) http://www.iraq-businessnews.com/2010/12/28/oil-infrastructure-set-for-boost/ © 2010 Iraq Business News. 18. Posted on 28 December 2010. Tags: Basra, Construction & Engineering, Industry & Trade, Investment, Iraq, Kurdistan, Oil Basra Could Become Semi-Autonomous With a new Iraqi government now finally formed, Basra’s desire for a referendum on becoming semi-autonomous may finally get passed Baghdad’s stalling tactics. The Iraqi constitution allows provinces to become semi-autonomous, just like the northern region of Kurdistan. The Associated Press reported on the pros and cons, writing that Basra would be able to stop sending more money to Baghdad than it receives back in aid, but the fear would then be lower accountability and increased local corruption. More seriously, the power may cause conflict between local factions. There is strong enmity between some of the political factions in the region, as well as local militia and gangs all enmeshed in the same web. Local power will lead to greater competition between them and potentially more violence. Other potential issues are that an autonomous Basra may weaken Iraq and divide the nation, leading to squabbling over such things as oil revenues. This has already happened with Kurdistan. The heavily Shiite province of Basra may also fall more under the influence of Iran, which is the largest investor in the province. Even so, if its budget was autonomous it would be entitled to a much larger slice of the national cake and it would not face incessant delays in releasing its share of the oil revenues from locally produced oil. Basra is very important for Iraq, as it has almost three quarters of the country’s oil reserves at more than 140bn barrels. It is also the gateway to Iraq’s only major ports. http://www.iraq-businessnews.com/2010/12/28/basra-could-become-semi-autonomous/ © 2010 Iraq Business News. Oil and gas jobs.

Tags: Chapter Seven, Chapter VII, Debt Call to Reschedule Iraq’s Debt Following Iraq’s exit last week from the UN’s Chapter VII restrictions, an Iraqi economist has called for a rescheduling of the country’s debt repayments. “Iraq’s financial funds are under UN trusteeship, according to UN’s Article 7,” Dr. Nabil Jaafar of Basra Univesity told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, pointing out that “the official and private debtors would activate their demands to force Iraq pay back its debts, thing that necessitates its scheduling of the debts,” warning that such development “would cause a real problem, due to the increase of such payments.” He said that “if this year’s debts payment would be US$ 1.3 billions (, it may become 5-6 billion ( dollars during the forthcoming few years, caused by the payment of the instalment plus the interest, that is linked to the average of the rate of inflation.” Dr. Jaafar said that “Iraq might be forced to pay back such debts to the creditors, thing that would leave passive impacts on its economy, as such debts would drain out the country’s foreign currency reserves, along with the oil revenues.” He added that Iraq “must treat this problem though avoiding foreign loans, so long as the local resources are enough,” calling for “holding talks with the creditors for rescheduling of the debts, in prelude to pay them back and get rid of their bulks.” (Source: Aswat al-Iraq) Share Related posts: 1. 24. Yes, I am a n00b to the site, lurking for years. I have seen how the internet trolls have been providing information and misinformation for half a decade or so, a lot of it ends up here with "your going to be rich on Monday/I know the rate//my cousins uncles sisters brother in-law with boots on the ground/ works at a bank/Insert rumor here".....Very little of it has legs to stand. Think back to the beginning of America. Iraq is definitely not in the same arena as America was when it was formed, but it does look familiar. America was(is) "new" and welcomed in people that have run from persecution/ dictatorships/ lack of economical stimulation/ and in general hard times. Freedom so to speak, as long as you can live by our lenient laws and want to live in peace/ tranquility/ etc., If you don't, we will fight to the death. That's the quandary of America and what it means to be free. There is a gun behind every blade of grass in America. I have a feeling that we are coming into a new time of Babylon, something that has been talked about for thousands of years. I have to ask myself sometimes why I am here at this time, in this place in time. I'll have to see how these statements are taken, now that I'm "allowed to post" after completing Adams' tasks, I'll start posting some M.Eastern news I've seen that doesn't show up here., backed up with links as well as actual soldiers on the ground with more than 3 tours in. All I can say is that the power of Iraq is coming with a swiftness thanks to Americas' Americans putting their own lives and tax dollars into a belief of a democratic and free Middle East. I would like to include Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, South Korea, and the United Kingdom along with the 7 others' that Bush said were fighting, from his words in 2007. If you watched the U.N. sanctions being lifted recently you know the rest. --Kip
