While I have not seen Adam specifically say that he has talked about THIS issue with his CBI contact, it is hard for me to believe that the excitement and imminent news that they share via e-mail and phone contact would play out as this post suggests. Well, it would cause a stir... no doubt about that!!! One I don't want to think about!!!

the dollar and the euro are not what concerns me ... what we don't want to see is the DINAR remain the same as it is, which in large measure will be what happens if we get a LOP and then only a modest RV.

How can there be so many differing opinions on one article ... I don't trust the Iraqi's not one little bit on this RV thing panning out like we have hoped it would!!!

I got banned from this chat for being aggravated and saying so to Sonny1 the other night when he had HUGE info and then said ... "oops, can't share ... don't want my info stolen". Then he went to VIP, shared it ... and had his info "stolen" ... which meant posted on other sites. And I am still banned ... was not mean or bashing but I did point out the absurdity of the deterioration of the chat that did not have to happen. Say what you have to say and stop with all the drama, already!!!

I know that Adam addressed the larger denoms in his chat this a.m., only to say that he thought via the info he got from his CBI contact that they would be good. And from what I understood, his take on the "re-denomination article" was that it was a very positive indication that the RV was upon us in some sense. What I have not seen him address as having been discussed with his CBI contact is this very question ... are we looking at a removal of three 000's and THEN the RV? Good, pointed question for his contact, eh?

CaptainJack ... "surely" you say about the government. LOL ... just kidding. I know folks often use all the "governments that are investmented in dinars" as a reason for Iraq to not dump on everyone, but I still maintain that governments and banks who are big players always seem to have or CAN have a provision that the little folks don't have access to ... don't know what that would be, but just sayin'. No one wants this over more than moi!!!

Everyone keeps saying a LOP would hurt the Iraqi's. They are not exchanging anything. For them dinars are dinars. If the new denoms come out and they take their large bills and exchange them ... and the RV then happens ... what have they lost? For US, if the big bills are taken out of circulation and we cannot get the small bills ... and then the RV, we have no gain, little gain or total loss because we want dinars turned into USD. Someone help me here????

Everyday day the news has a different twist. Before Christmas the CBI contact was saying we may have good news before he made contact again after his trip to Dubai. Adam joined him in Dubai. Not really much news at that time and certainly nothing before or around Christmas. Not long ago, it was thought we would have news from the CBI contact within 48 hours. That was a week to 10 days ago. Then there was all the excitement over the redenomination of currency and the concurrent use of bills through the end of 2010 ... and the conclusion of that was the RV HAD to happen if the lower bills were going to be introduced. That article was our big sign that this was really going to all fall into place, and probably SOON! I mean the big bills were good, there would be no LOP. Life was good. Now we hear that we will get half the rate, whatever that means, and that "it sounds like" the big bills will be OK. BUT, to be safe, it is always a good idea to diversify. I don't disagree with diversification when possible, but it the RV and so much of what has surrounded it is SO volitile from day to day, how could there be any sense of well being that diversification IN IRAQ would be any better? With everyday that passes and all the confusion that comes with it, I have invested all I care to invest in this! We ain't out of the woods yet ... and I hope I have to happily eat everyone of these words in the next 10 minutes!!!

Bottom line: no one really knows what this article means. I do not like the sound of this ... I hate to say that before I bought my first dinar, one of the main reasons I had for pooh-poohing this whole thing was the idea of a LOP or a re-denomination. Almost all the naysayers included this as a common negative to the Iraqi dinar and an RV as we hope it will happen. Oh my .... say it ain't so!!!

Ali has been selling the uncirculated notes by the bucket. If all else fails ... and I don't think it will ... cash in with Ali. I think they were advertised and sold as uncirculated to keep down any notion of counterfeit.

I have a BoA account and have had for years. Even IF they would match Ali's price, which I have my doubts, there is still the issue of verification on the bills. Most BoA sites would not be able to do that ... and sending those dinars off for verification seems a whole lot more risky than going to one of Ali's sites. Yes???

vader ... this is contrary to everything that is being said by Ali. I think he has every intention of cashing in dinars for dollars once the RV occurs. Why would he be setting up all the extra cash-in sites if what you say is true? Maybe you are talking about walking out with cash or something, in which case perhaps they would suggest you just go to your bank for that. Also, there should not be "all the people" there trying to cash in. It will be done on an appointment basis, and my understanding is only those with an appointment will be permitted inside and even on the premesis.

I don't have a problem with "cleaning up" the site from those who would do harm with the info they get here. I have been here a while and can get testy with folks as we all do sometimes. My aggravation came last night with stuff that really was beyond whatever Adam was trying to do ... I don't want to even know the details of that. But I got banned and am still banned because I fired off several times about the storm that was stirred up in the chat last night that really was needless. The very thing that often miffed folks with TerryK (myself included) was him stirring up, playin' with folks, gettin' 'em going. And that is exactly what happened in the chat last night. Told to be on at a certain time, call other folks (I did) ... and then "oops, can't tell" ... but then when told on VIP and the news was out in 3 minutes to every other site ... that was surprising??? Why? Info goes from site to site all the time. Those of us in the chat didn't tell anything because WE were the last to know, those of us who were the first to be ready to hear, never heard the info from the chat! Then the chat fell apart, the sarcasm flew, and I, for one, vented. Typically I think I add to the chat atmosphere. Did I last night??? ... probably I was less than helpful. Sooooo, poof, I am gone!! The whole thing did not have to happen.

Grumpy ... thanks for posting this here THIS MORNING, but herein lies some of the frustration of last night's chat ... me being one of those who called folks as Sonny1 suggested, me being one of the later frustrated ones, me being one of the then banned ones for expressing that frustration! If this was the HUGE news, then why not just post it in the chat exactly as it is here and let it go at that? Instead we got all the drama and HUNDREDS of folks in the chat, all firing off at one time. The end result is that what Sonny1 did not want to happen DID indeed happen through no fault of anyone in the chat ... because WE were the last to know, as someone in VIP let the cat out of the bag. Adam is right in his concern if he thinks someone is compromising his effforts or exploiting folks at DV. Most in DV are not even aware of those things and really have no interest in knowing. But the banter, sarcasm and even the sometimes heated exchanges are not indicative of ill will toward individuals personally or toward the site in particular. Last night did not have to happen.

well I got banned last night too ... just poof, was gone after making a comment about other sites having sonny's info BEFORE we got it ... cause it apparently was out about 3 minutes after he posted VIP. I belong to no other sites and just barely know how to post something here, much less somewhere else! Don't even know how to cut and paste on here, for crying out loud!!! I resent if I am being considered "disloyal" because I considered last night's chat a debacle. It was that, so if that seals my "dinar doom" then so be it! Will look for a reasonable response from you, Adam. I have no reason to doubt your concern about the integrity of your site, but I am certainly no threat to that.

Now EddieX ... you have gone and gotten the LMG all upset, and that is not a good thing to do!!! You better get yourself right back in that chat room before I have to come lookin' for you!!!

I saw this book in a very small BOA branch in July ... several denominations were there; the 10K and 25K were there. I saw them! This is not new. It is in their currency book. The lady then tried to look up the rate on the computer and said ... "Oh, but we are not exchanging them now". I do not know what she saw on her computer screen.

At this point in history China only cares about one thing ... MONEY! They can invest plenty of technology, 'cause they surely have the brains, and manpower is even less of a problem. The USA is too concerned about being PC, taxation and creating and adhering to massive regulatory issues that more and more will make us nonplayers. By the time the average American wakes up and puts a stop to all this crap, we will be like an old fat woman who is now being asked to run a marathon. We simply won't be able to compete!

This seems to be another piece of the puzzle. Another posted article about the satellite link for the Iraqi banks was also encouraging. As much as I want the RV to happen YESTERDAY, my suspicion is that Iraq is not quite there yet ... not if their goal is to be a world player. They seem to have made great progress in just the last few weeks though, but my guess is we are several weeks if not months away from an RV.

this would have been an interesting article even if it didn't have anything to do with the state of Iraqi economics, which we all hope will result in the RV.
