I have a feeling this may already have been discussed. I find it very interesting that after October 1 - all the mid month dates say "if applicable" as if to say they are updating only once a month going forward? Of course, a reval/deval of a currency does not have to correspond to these rate schedules "operational rates of exchange" as they are updated in the next batch anyway. You are BRAVE :-) Ok SWIFT CODES are ALWAYS used for International Wires - need to know the two (or three) parties to the transaction - the tellers better have known this because they work at a bank! I would not expect a teller to have access to back screens- BUT I would expect the foreign currency department of the larger banks to have access to this type of data. It is really no different than level II or level I quotes for the securities industry. The professionals get a whole different level of view than the public. Further if you have a bloomberg terminal (about $1700 per month) you get to see EVERYTHING MOVING - of course you need about 4-5 screens minimum to watch all the activity. Anyway, I havent worked in a bank but based upon my experience in securities, and different levels of access - I believe its TRUE that the private side can see more than the public. ok so this is a little confusing to me. So, it makes sense for govt's/corps to have difft fiscal and calendar years especially b/c they usually use accrual basis accounting not cash basis. this gives them time to reconcile the books. I further appreciate the explanation that from Oct 1-dec30/dec31 gives the newly elected time to participate in the zeroing out process from the former year and new budget. So....WHY would Iraq NOT use a different fiscal year than calendar? After reading the above post I am left to wonder if they DO INDEED have Oct 1 as the fiscal year? Can someone please tell me WHY they do not use Oct 1 like most other countries? Can someone show me proof that its Jan 1 Fiscal year? Thank you!

ALL of my contacts in the financial world think I am NUTS...NONE of them see or believe an RV is possible. THEY have not done the research. THEY havent put the puzzle together. correct it says that your order is locked by your postmark. It says that they have limited 500 dinar notes ...it also says he still has 5000 IRQ and VND for sale - it said that last week too...I found that strange. I also find it strange that he would not inform us in advance like he did last time of impending banking wire changes. A friend of mine sent a wire last time to the old bank (it was the same day he posted the immediate wire change) it was returned. She had to resend to the new instructions. The initial poster here said their wire was accepted so I will find it strange if he has changed his wire instructions on Monday. He is doing MAIL ORDER ONLY - only option on his site right now - no COD Is it possible it could revalue this weekend? Who knows but I find this behavior strange for a successful businessman.
