  1. What I don't get is that you were treated like royalty, but anyone can purchase a million dinar with a $1,000. If they think the dinar is so special, why do they make such a fuss over you when they could easily buy it themselves? It's not like you walked through the door with the mining rights to Yellowstone Park! The dinar is cheap and easy to obtain!
  2. I agree with all those scriptures. False prophets have gone out and the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Paul, however, did allow for Christians to be rich when he admonished the rich in Ist Timothy 6:17, 18 saying, "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasures for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." There does seem to be some allowance for those who are rich to use their riches in a way that promotes good works and the Kingdom, and Paul acknowledges this. Wealth for wealth's sake is not the goal here for those of us hoping to make an increase on this investment. Wealth in the hands of godly men and women built hospitals, opened orphanages, relieved the suffering, built Christian schools, and printed Bibles and materials for the furtherance of the Kingdom. Please do not be so legalistic here and condemn Christians for wanting wealth for the right reasons. Many of us have walked with God for many years and are aware of these verses. I dropped out of Harvard and traveled like a homeless man for 10 years in extreme obedience to these verses. I have modified my extreme stance some since looking at other scriptures that suggest that wealth in the hands of the godly is one way God brings blessing to the lost and suffering (I was hungry and you fed me, naked and you clothed me, etc.) That's hard to do without possessing the goods of this world. Both concepts need to be held in tension and in balance, since it is clear that God makes both the poor and the rich, and both exist equally in His church. Be careful when you wield the sword since calling fire down from heaven is not always Christ's way of dealing with us.
  3. Actually, as a California notary, I am required to make sure that the document is properly filled out and does not allow for the signator to be vulnerable to the party on the other end to change the terms of the document through filling in missing blanks. I do not know the laws in other states, but using a notary helps protect you from being scammed by others. As for notarizing a document, we do not have to do so if we have doubts about the validity of the person's identity or the validity of the document itself. We do not have to become a party to a scam. We cannot offer legal advice, but if a document is suspicious, we can refuse service.
  4. Does any of this have to do with the plunging dollar due to our leaders' inability to handle our nation's finances in a sound way? Your dollar is dropping because our credit rating has taken a hit. It would reflect in the exchange values you might be offered at your bank.
  5. If you had blasted a race, or a sexual orientation, or a nationality, or a gender, there would be a politically correct slur to attribute to you. You would be a racist, homophobe, sexist, whatever. But you insult good people who have faith in God, call us all crazy and coookooo, and there is no label for someone of your bigotry. Your anger against believers in God is very unhealthy for you, and I would imagine it reflects in the way you treat others. You have dissed a whole lot of people on this website, people who leave you alone in your unbelief, and attack us for integrating our faith with our lives. Just what do Christians have to do to please you? Do we have to pretend that God does not exist? Do we have to deny our very worldview to appease your discomfort with the concept of God? Have you thought that perhaps you are being intolerant of other's beliefs, thereby making you into a religious bigot? Please consider this the next time you feel compelled to spit in our collective faces.
  6. Thanks, Sam. I believe you are on to something and I think you are helping me to understand this better. Good job!
  7. The secular world, which does not think about God or involve God in their lives, would insist that the rest of us confine our faith to Sundays and not let it influence our entire lives. Then we are called hypocrites because we only "go to church" and don't live our faith the rest of the week. What are we supposed to do? Throw God out the window and pretend that he doesn't exist? Faith is a world view that affects everything we do: politics, raising our kids, investing, entertainment, etc. It is the cry of the secularists, most of whom claim to themselves the virtues of open-mindedness and tolerance, who themselves the most closed-minded and intolerant when people of faith discuss their views. What gives you the right to declare that a dinar forum is to be exclusive of those who express the intersection of their faith and the revaluing of the dinar? Isn't that being bigoted and intolerant? We see this investment as a spiritual exercise, and the results of the investment as belonging to and perhaps (we shall see if it turns out well), divinely ordained so that we can further spread his love in the world. But love is not just a gushy feeling that teenagers get; it is the practical application of God's resources entrusted to us to meet the needs of a dying world. So with your permission, we Christians would like to continue to use this forum to approach this investment from our faith perspective, since that is how we view life in general. I get it that you don't think this way, but the tolerant thing would not be to declare this the domain of the secular, but rather open to all regardless if they are Wiccan, Zeus worshippers, Christians, Jews, Buddhist, Agnostics, or Atheists. In our culture I know that the Progressives want to shut down Christian expression, but that is not what our Constitution meant when we were given the right to free speech. I'm sorry to see such intolerance showing up here at DV.
  8. He is also a God of judgment. Don't forget what damage a false prophesy does to the name of Christ, especially in a forum of fine people who have been turned off by the money-grubbing televangelists, whose message is basically "Send me money and God will bless you." Arguing against fact makes all Christians look stupid, and who wants to become a Christian if you have to become stupid to qualify? Those outside of the faith see what is going on and think we have lost our minds. George said that God told him something was going to happen by a certain date. It did not come to pass. Solution: we don't listen to him. Result: Christians are not stupid people. Sure we forgive George and love him like a brother, and don't judge his heart, but we don't listen to him anymore when he prophesies. He is not credible. When Samuel the prophet came to town people trembled because everything he said happened. When Agabus prophesied about world-wide famine, it happened. Love George, but don't elevate him to prophet status. He flunked the final.
  9. He is just doing what the Bible says. I was in a cult for 10 years because of the threat of not speaking against God's anointed and the pastor of our church took us down the road to great error and caused untold misery on hundreds of families. We are required by Scripture to judge righteous judgment. This man's specific prophecy did not happen so he was not speaking by the Spirit in this matter. There are times to be still, true, but when a man speaks a prophecy in the name of God and it does not come to pass, the above mentioned Scripture is to be obeyed. Making excuses for this man is idolatrous and dangerous. It is a loving thing to warn people about false prophets! Remember that "this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments." And one of his commandments is to beware of false prophets. Jumping back to Deuteronomy God gives us that definition. So he has done the loving thing!
  10. I am with you on that! I haven't used credit cards in 2 years and these creeps are merciless. Pay them off, get them out of your life, and never pick up another credit card again!
  11. I can add three more women from California who are an embarrassment and who should never be allowed to make any decisions for our country any more: 1. Barbara Boxer 2. Dianne Feinstein 3. That idiot woman who represents Compton who told the oil companies she wants to "socialize" them. (Maxine Waters)
  12. I got the same notice from forex.com, where I have a small account that I trade (about $500). If someone now has to be a qualified investor to trade currencies over the counter, there goes about $25,000 in training and software products. It would not surprise me, though. This government seems on a path to enslave everyone and us little guys have no say in how we can participate.
  13. Thank you for this encouraging word. Of course Jesus cares about these things! He knows the hairs on our head, would he not know our financial problems? Amen to the tithing comment! I plan to more than tithe; i want to create an income stream that will bless missionaries and different outreaches to the world so the poor can eat and have clean water. That's why I am looking for this blessing!
