1st of all, its the middle of the night over there. Don't you think its safe to assume they may wait until morning? Having said that; Shabibi has stated on more than one occassion that the CBI plans to take action on the value of the dinar as soon as the gov't is official. IMO, we're going to be waiting until the Gov't is official, agreed upon and recognized. Once that happens, its sit & wait.

My understanding is; Maliki has until the 25th to form his gov't. If he does'nt and or can't, the oppurtunity to form a gov't would go to someone else (probably Allawi). Now, if Allawi & enough of his freinds bail, they would take any voting quorum with them. Meaning, Maliki wouldnt be able to get his gov't through due to lack of the required amount parliment members in attendence necessary to hold a vote. I've read so many posts both saying this investment is/is not a capital gain. Has anyone taken the next step & actually contacted their tax professional/cpa or attoeney & received a definitive answer yet? you would think that someone, even if its the IRS, would or could give us the final "this is the way its going to be " answer. Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't they make money at 3.00? What prevents them posting a .20 cent margin/spread over a 3.00 buy rate just as in your 1.00 example? "Just asking?"

Great question, however, I find it difficult to answer until I know how much...... If it comes in with just enough to retire me & my family, I'd guard it with my life ( a selfish goal but a primary one none the less). Yet, if it comes in at 3+....well the possibilities of philanthropy are wide open.....time will tell.

I like reading meds chats, however, I have a close friend in the the air force who happens to be in Iraq. She questions the rumor about USD's not being accepted over there. She says they use them all the time to buy just about everything.

Prosperity, First off, get your own confermation, Having said that, I spoke to a recently ex IRS agent who's now an accountant. Her statement to me was this; regarding unexpected cap gains or income, your tax responsibility will belong to the state you live in at the time you cash in. If you have recently moved, any gain/income received prior to moving belongs to your previous state, any after the move belongs to the new state. Be prepaired to live in the new state for at least 2 years, unless, you can prove a reasonable reason for moving back...ie...job transfer etc.....
