The cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) will meet on Monday to discuss three issues related to the work of its government.

"The Council of Ministers of Kurdistan is holding a meeting today to discuss the imposition of drawings and penalties on some companies operating in the private sector, and discuss the work of a number of ministries and the disbursement of imports, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Finance."

"The meeting also includes discussing the increase in taxes on cigarettes and some substances harmful to health," adding that "the share of the region was included in the budget in the last paragraph of the agenda after the request made by the Minister of Finance in the provincial government."

Direct : Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government called on the international community to intervene to urge the Iraqi government to end punitive measures imposed on the region.

A statement issued by the provincial government said Monday that disciplinary policies adopted by the Baghdad government against Erbil constitute violations under international and humanitarian law.

And calls on the central government to promote and protect the human rights and fundamental freedoms of individuals and groups .

The statement pointed to the reduction of the share of the province in the federal budget of Iraq 2018 without the involvement of the Kurdish government, as well as the closure of airspace and restrictions on travel , pointing out that more than 1.5 million refugees and displaced from Kirkuk, Tuzkurmato and other areas affected by the Kurdish people.

The Kurdish government pointed out the vitality of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah airports to meet the needs of the displaced and the people of the region, pointing to its impotence in the transition of the staff of relief agencies sent by the United Nations, the European Union, the International Committee of the Red Cross, non-governmental organizations and other representatives of the international community.

Today, the Prime Minister of Kurdistan, Nechirvan Barzani, the Federal Court of Iraq decision to cancel the results of the referendum, and that "irrevocable" , but it was issued unilaterally without the presence of representatives of the region.

The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq launched several initiatives to end the dispute with the central government in Baghdad, stressing its readiness for any kind of negotiation under the Iraqi constitution .

Hopefully Nechirvan Barzani has the capacity to cancel the results of the referendum unilaterally and this constitutes a basis for negotiating the Kurdish region and Baghdad differences.

 

We'll see!
